Paa Dee

I am writing on a Tuesday wishing Paadee were open. Since they’re not and I was craving Thai I ordered from somewhere else that I consider better than most. So now I’m having the typical Portland Thai experience of dry meat, boring, imbalanced flavors and noodles that are somehow both dry and mushy at the same time. Paadee is delicious and reliable; most places are very inconsistent. You can find larger portions and slightly lower prices elsewhere if that’s all you care about, but Paadee is a better value. I usually order takeout or delivery but the restaurant is elegant and the owners are nice.

Paadee is goated. Grab a group of friends, get a table, order some cocktails and order a little bit of everything to share. There is not much on this menu I wouldn't recommend and the flavors are flavoring. Personally I was mostly a fan of all the appetizers, especially the chicken wings but the entrees are fantastic. This is one of my favorite spots in Portland truly.

Very great food here! We brought a friend who isn’t normally a very adventurous eater and he enjoyed everything he ate as well. He got the pork belly fried rice and loved it. Rave reviews for the coconut soup and the pad Thai as well. I had the pad kee mao with prawns, and it did not disappoint. Nor did the chicken wings appetizer with the tamarind sauce. Really tasty, hearty, flavorful food. I would definitely go back!

This place was pretty incredible, one of the top places I visited while in Oregon. I don’t remember all the plates we had but they were all so delicious. Those appetizers were incredible! Service was pretty fast (we were hungryyy after our hike) and so friendly. Would def go back whenever I visit Oregon. Parking isn’t terrible you just have to walk a little, since it’s on a Main Street.

Absolutely amazing Thai food and great service. They have lots of unique dishes and cool twists on classics. Every dish I've tried has been memorable and full of flavor. I've been 3 times so far and I can't get enough. There's a long wait for a table on Fridays and Saturdays but it's easy to get a table on Sundays.

Some of the best northern thai food I’ve had since i lived in thailand. The khao soi is scrumptious, my cocktail was amazing, and the service was so lovely and kind! Textures and flavors on point with everything we ordered. This place is an utter gem and I’d be a regular if I was local. Portland, you’re lucky to have this place.

Our server was slow tbh but I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt because it was busy. The food was SO GOOD that I can’t take any stars away. Fresh, spicy, sweet, tropical, tangy - every dish was exciting!!! You cannot order wrong on this menu. Honorable mention to the ube boba slushie served in a hippopotamus glass 😂 The flavor was sweet and smooth which was the perfect counterpoint to the spicy food 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Gai Grop Sam Yan - Crispy, sour & sweet, and lightly spicy, this chicken is excellent. The "perfect bite" with the chicken, stir-fried cashews, lightly charred green onion, and a bit of rice is a flavor and texture combination that anyone would love. Ba Mhee Pitsanulok - a fantastic noodle soup. The broth is meaty, just spicy enough, and complex. The three types of pork may sound like overdoing it, but they're different enough in preparation, flavor, and texture that they all work together to change the eating experience with each bite. Cocktails were great, a little pricey but very tasty so that's fine. Service was quick, attentive, and welcoming. Ambiance inside is great. The lights are bright enough to see what you're doing but dim enough to make everything feel intimate, and there's some light music in the background.

Is this the best Thai food in the Planet? Who am I to say. But it’s damn near the best thai food in Portland! Certainly the best food I’ve had in a few months. I got the crispy pork belly noodles and the Ba Mhee Pitsanulok. The flavors were so delicately balanced and the portions are absolutely worth the price. I will definitely keep coming back and keep recommending visitors and locals to check it out. Thank you!
