Always a fun meal
This is the most reasonable place to eat food food on the island
I'm from Louisiana and I know good Cajun cooking. I've been twice now and it's been great. Friendly folks. Prompt wait staff. I've had seafood gumbo and shrimp etouffe' so far. Might try the baby back ribs tomorrow then back to the other Cajun dishes until I try most all of it. I highly recommend it.
We were seated right away. The restaurant got busy real fast after opening. Food came fast and hot. I had the Hungry Cajun. If you really enjoy seafood and have a big appetite you may want two portions. I added a couple pounds of boiled shrimp and was satisfied. The boiled shrimp was delicious and cheaper than the Hungry Cajun. Kids options are really limited if they aren't into seafood. For us this is a dinner option when we do our annual beach trip.
The lines were long everywhere and we were driving in search of some really good food on a Thursday night. Man did we find the place. They had people eating there but the wait wasn't long and the atmosphere was really nice. I had the sausage gumbo with dirty rice and we also ordered the etoufee. Everything was really good. My only complaint is that i wish it was more flavorful but that might have been an error on my part cause they offered me Tabasco and another sauce but I ate my dishes without using anything. The wait staff was really nice and parking was really nice compared to other establishments around. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in the area visiting.
Exactly what it appears to be, no more no less. A crawfish boil style dining experience at a great price. Hungry Cajun is the way to go. What you get for $20 would cost you $60+ at other restaurants, easy. I have absolutely no complaints. Our waitress was very good with the kids too, gave them free deserts!
All six of us enjoyed our visit. The price of the Hungry Cajun is great, especially with the amount of food received. Crab legs, craw fish, shrimp, potatoes, corn, and sausage boiled in seasonings and served with drawn butter. When they dumped the food on the table I wondered if each serving would be enough, but turns out we left food on the table. Food came out quickly, service was attentive. It was a great family visit.
A must-visit if you’re in the area — we absolutely loved our snow crab, hungry Cajun, and full rack of ribs for two. Come hungry & tip your server — these guys are really cool and great at their job.
Everything about this place was perfect
Our waiter was so friendly and attentive. The food was great. I will return every time I visit this beach.
Very impressed, my husband and I had the Hungry Cajun and added a pound of shrimp, which was a good amount of food. The seafood was delicious, the corn was tasty and the potatoes too. The best we've had in a while. Our son really enjoyed the cheese pizza and The French Silk dessert. The server was friendly and very helpful too.
This was a fantastic dinner and dinning experience! Fast and friendly service. Delicious bread for the table. The Hungry Cajun (Shrimp, crab, sausage, corn and potatoes) was delicious with a very flavorful seasoning blend. The jambalaya was spectacular and we finished with delightful key lime pie. Great service, fantastic food and good prices! I will definitely stop here again the next time in Port A!
Oh my stars!!!! You need to try this place now, It will not disappoint & prices are reasonable. We had the seafood boil and geez the shrimp was gigantic, the crab legs were meaty, corn was sweet and the warm fresh made bread with butter made the experience elevated. I loved my Gumbo it was semi thick & rich in flavor.
Plentiful on the Hungry Cajun, but light on the crab. Had to order more. Big room like a bingo hall. Good prices $18 for a spread for one.
