This place rocks. We go here, not often enough, just a short drive from Novato and a good stop on the way home from the beach or Pt Reyes Station. Their burgers are the best, and we love the fried brussels. The space is amazing, too. And don't get me started about the butcher. Best pieces of meat you've ever seen. And you can get Sean Thackery wine.

I almost don't want to review Marin Sun Farms, because I'd hate for more people to discover this semi-hidden and very precious gem, but I acknowledge that it's my duty as a citizen to alert the masses to this deliciousness. If you're a big-shot, you can buy one of their high-quality and freshly butchered steaks and cook it yourself, but I recommend sitting back in their cozy restaurant space or, on a warm autumn evening, in their tranquil sunflower-filled backyard area, and letting the chefs work their magic.

Looking for a new place to celebrate a birthday dinner, Marin Sun Farms sealed the deal. Responsible farming practices, locally sourced, and quality you can taste in every mouth watering bite. We started with the Brussels sprouts. Do yourself a favor...don't leave these off your check. Holy heck, they were delicious! Our meals consisted of the lamb burger, beef burger, a grilled cheese, and a side of fries. All burgers come with salad, so we added the fries to share. One was plenty for three of us with the other items. The burgers were cooked to perfection. Juicy, full of flavor, and each delicious in their own way. I switched the cheese on my beef burger for blue, next time I'll try their recommendation, the blue was a little strong, perhaps stealing the show from the full flavor of the beef. Finished up with a shared cup on Candy Cap gelato. Subtle maple flavor, with a velvety texture, and a cup of French press coffee. Ooooh so good. Great service, amazing food.

Farm-to-table. I had a gruyere dry aged burger with a side salad and it was awesome. A bit pricey ($18), but it was quality tasty. Also, had fries with homemade ketchup, not bad. Service was slow b/c they were missing some staff. Butcher shop was pretty cool to check out.

Absolutely the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Order it!!! Also wine and other selections of meat are the best. I give 4 stars because the home-made ketchup is really not good, way too sweet which lets down those excellent fries!

I had dinner here (& lunch the next day) and the food was amazing! The lamb for dinner was soo good as well as the sauce and parsnip puree. The roast beef sandwich was amazing too. Staff was super friendly and the place is very nice- but not formal. Will be back!

Very friendly and accommodating restaurant. I called ahead for a group of nine, and even though we arrived 20 minutes late, they held the table and seated us right away. We would have called ahead to notify them that we'd be late but there was limited cell service in the area. The food was a little pricey for burgers and sides, but the meats were fresh and definitely satisfying after a long hike.

Amazing, meat-forward burgers and all of their sides are mind-blowing. The onion rings fried in pork fat - even if you don't like onion rings, you should try those. And the Brussels sprouts! They also have a butchery where you can buy some meat for home. All fresh, delicious, and local.

The level of quality at Marin Sun's home base is outstanding – all pastured meats almost exclusively from their own farm, unbelievably good tallow soap made from the fat of their own cattle, and wonderfully prepared meals and bites that elevate country and deli food through their exceptional ingredients and subtle creativity. The dining menu is homestyle, but despite being heartily filling is very clean and light. You'll be hard-pressed to find onion rings fried in pastured pork lard elsewhere, and what a delight they are! Who would have dreamed that onion rings could feel so weightless? The Brussel sprouts were cooked, seasoned, and dressed to perfection, a feat in itself. Pastrami was like none we'd ever had. Interesting takes on ketchup, aioli, and mustard – all made fresh in-house and certainly not of a standard style, but not too far out there either. Our only complaint really is with the service, which is just shy of terrible we hate to say. No one is straight-up rude, but they're lazy, generally unapologetic, and far from attentive. A telling example is the contrast between the menu's notice stating that water is served only upon request, and then the presence on every diner's table of an unsolicited glass of ice water despite the weather outside barely breaking freezing. Select menu items are also unavailable at indeterminate and varying times throughout the day, not due to shortage(s), but rather to poor planning and time management.

This place was amazing. My husband had the Ribeye and I had their Brussel Sprouts appetizer and thier Beet salad. The steak and frites were soooo good. The sreak melted in your mouth like butter. The Brussel sprouts are fried in pork lard and topped with sour cream and parmesan cheese. Excellent. I have to mention that this place is pricey, but worth every penny. Definitely would come back when we're in the area. :)

This place is pure. Which is exactly why you've never been here; the fact is, this is both a butcher shop AND a restaurant. Quality, local, meats as the base ingredient for a variety of dishes, but it's not all meat. Delicious appetizers, fresh and tasty salads and oh, did we mention the meat? If Anthony Bourdain had been curious about Marin, he could have done worse than land here. With cozy sheepskins on every chair and a super friendly waitstaff, what more could you want? Well, seconds on the mushroom and maple gelato for one!

My family & I enjoyed a wonderful meal this evening. My pulled pork sandwich was delicious & the fries were the best ever. A lovely experience for all of us!
