I don't usually write reviews. However, this is a great place. Food is very inexpensive, delicious, and great portions like the 5$ pizzas at certain times. Lots of cheap drink choices and not as uncomfortable as other Oakland bars. Staff is pleasant. Highly recommend. This is a family place.

Ordered chicken parm dinner n had a beer at the bar while I waited...Fast service, dinner was ready in the Togo container before I finished my drink. Food is delicious and seems like a pretty quiet little dip off spot. Price was definitely affordable it only came to 11.25 for dinner and a bud light and is a nice portion enough for two meals basically.

We are here in Oakland for a concert. If I could take this place back home with me, I would. The service was awesome, and I had the best buffalo chicken salad I've ever had in my life. The Hubs loved his burger as well. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

I live close by so I'm constantly ordering their food, both online and over the phone. So far, I've yet to have bad service or food. Their food is really delicious and the best part is that it's not expensive at all. They're generous with their portions and the food always comes fresh. If you haven't tried this place, you definitely should. For about eight dollars for a meal, why not?

Papa D's has got some of the best open late - cheap eats food in Oakland. The bar has got great specials and the bartenders are attentive and friendly. Some other reviewers said Papa D's delivery was very slow, but I've personally never encountered this problem. I always order off their website directly and they're typically at my door within 20-30 minutes, which is less than the 45-60 estimate. Obviously, this is not Ruth's Chris - but Papa D's is awesome at being a college staple. You can't beat a buck-fifty lager.

I was going to order the spinach and feta rolls but they were out of spinach so I ordered the godfather (meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy) not knowing what to expect. It was awesome! Definitely will order again! Late night delivery is available which is always a plus.

Pizza was pretty good. The scene itself was an interesting mix of locals and college kids that you rarely see at most places. I'd go back, but it wasn't the sort of place that would leap to mind if someone from out of town asked me to take them somewhere that would prove Pittsburgh was awesome.

Papa's recently renovated, but are still basically a highway dive bar. Drink prices are acceptable, and they play important sports games on flatscreen. It used to be a great daring scene too, but after you meet a girl here and start to get serious and finally ask her to move in with you it turns out she's been seeing someone else like this whole time and has tentative plans to not only have him move in with her but to start a business together, this ridiculous custom stationary designing business that'll never take off. And then you spend like two years doing dead-end clerical work for a local unemployment office until you get an eggshell-white card in the mail, with subtle paisley inlay, inviting you to the wedding of Janet Thrush to Sleve McDichael and you have to run on down the street to the dive bar you met her at and drown your sorrows in a $5 Budweiser pitcher because it's Wednesday. 4/5 Pizza is pretty good too.
