We travel full time and I am always on the lookout for a French bakery. La Gourmandine is my absolute favorite! They offer a selection of delectable pastries and breads. Get there early because they sell out during busy times or place an order in advance to guarantee. Perfect harmony of flavors, textures and aromas. Their Croissant Amandes are to die for! When in Pittsburgh their cakes always accompany us visiting family and friends. In the pictures are Tarte Citron, The Marquise: Chocolate mousse, crème brûlée, vanilla sponge and crunchy caramel yum! The last is Pistachio. If you’re in Pittsburgh you have to visit!

La Gourmandine is a local French bakery chain, and it is definitely one of the best in the area. My husband and I have really enjoyed every tart and croissant that we have bought from them. They also sell sandwiches, quiches, cakes, and breads, which I might someday try. I think that the prices are very reasonable for the high quality. The employees have promptly and politely greeted me, carefully packaged my foods, accurately processed my payment, and thanked me and wished me a great day. The only negative about this business is the location in an area that has street parking and lots of traffic.

We ordered a half-sheet Frasier cake as a 'thank you' to the teachers and staff at our daughter's school. We received great feedback and we heard that the cake was the talk of the school that day. It looked stunning and we were told it was delicious too. So this prompted me to order a small one for us to try. The cake was light and delicious and was nothing like any cake I had tried before. Hoping that we can try the other cake varieties soon.

Where do I start? Let’s just say that when I move in a couple of months, the distance I am from a La Gourmandine will be one of the top considerations as to where I move. Everything in the bakery is an absolute masterpiece in every way. Sure they are beautiful but more than that, they are the most well balanced food items ever. Their pastries will not be too sweet for you. They all have a very careful balance and are clearly made by someone who truly understands flavors and how they mix best. I have never had something I didn’t LOVE here. There sandwiches? Fire. Also <$7. I cant explain how they take the most basic ingredients and make them taste like a brand new perfect thing. I order the campagnard every time (I love it) and it is exactly the same every time. I’ve ordered well over 20 of these and they are amazing every single time from any of the locations. The staff are incredible and sweet. Some are my straight forward and direct, which I can appreciate when I am feeling like I am in a rush. When you go to la Gourmandine, you will have an incredible day no matter what else happens. 3 month Edit: still super consistent. Haven’t ever had any issues ever.

I've had the pleasure of visiting this place multiple times, and each visit is an amazing experience. The staff is not only welcoming but also incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home. The highlight of my visits has to be their Pan Au Chocolat – it's a must-try!

Coming from a culture where it’s so common to find pastries and fresh bread, a visit to La Gourmandine is like going home for one hour. They have a wide range of tasty treats such as croissants, baguettes, among other items. It’s also cool to see that they’ve expanding their stores and having this one in Hazelwood.

This place has the best macarons I've ever had. Ive been ordering from them about once a week for a while now. Once you try their baked stuff you can't stop thinking about it. The gourmandise pastry, and the chocolate almond croissants are amazing.

Great bakery with a variety of pastries. Quiches had phenomenal texture and flavor. Croissants were delightful. I didn't have chance to try their sandwiches, but I intend to go back!

Pass by this patisserie in Pittsburgh and don't go in. It is an unforgivable sin. Most delicious. Huge selection. Again I say in America everything is big. Buy according to your health. For warnings not to be obist. enjoy your meal.

Love Gourmandine's pastry! Great variety and absolutely delicious. Glad to have one store close to my place in Hazelwood. There is a couple of tables inside to enjoy sweets with a coup of coffee. So convenient!
