Old, friendly place with a lot of character & characters, all very polite. Service is great, even when packed. Get there early, get a seat, & enjoy some delicious food, all at reasonable prices. Good live bands (not loud) are a treat!
Best falafel in the burgh served by the coolest owner.
I've passed this place numerous times but finally went in last night with some friends for a quick bite. We were all thoroughly pleased with the great food and friendly customer service. The owner Zamir, aka Z man, was super friendly and remembered all three of our names after just meeting us once. He and the waiter were both very helpful and made our experience very pleasant. I got a gyro and it was delicious. The tavern atmosphere was cozy and seating was comfortable. I will definitely be going back with some more friends.
This is an excellent local bar with craft beer and Mediterranean bar food. Excellent gyros, hummus, and tandoori chicken skewers. Cocktails and decent wine available as well.
The highlights are free entertainment generally on Wednesday and Friday. The house bluegrass band on Wednesday draws a lively crowd starting at 9 p.m.
The atmosphere is casual and festive and is good for either a group or a date. Striking up a conversation if you're alone should be easy. The owner, and bartenders are always friendly.
Great spot for live music and awesome falafel! Good selection of beers and a friendly staff in a historic pub make for a fun experience. It is small and can get crowded, so get there a little early if you want to see the band. It is a long and narrow building, so if you are going for the music, consider sitting closer to the performance area, as the front by the door can get a little loud with conversation noise. Check the website for details on music, as I don't think they have music every night.
Decent beer selection, delicious food, and bluegrass Wednesdays! Oldest bar in the 'burgh. Ya gotta go. Get the chicken satay with a side of fries, you won't regret it. Comes with the best peanut sauce on the side. I think the secret ingredient is crack, cause I'm addicted!
The bartender is attentive and friendly, and they have a pretty good beer selection. The food is impressive too, especially for being cooked behind the bar. The eggplant wrap is absolutely delicious!
The staff at The Park House is tremendous.
The food always hits the spot and the entertainment is always great
Great beer selection. Good live music. I hear that the food is good but, even though I've been here a lot, I've never tried. Not a sports bar, by any means, but I've had as much fun watching a Pens game with the crowd as I've had anywhere in the city.
Excellent falafel combined with dive bar experience while listening to bluegrass. Odd combo? You bet, but it works like a charm. Don't forget about the free popcorn and peanuts too. The only reason I am giving a four instead of a five is because the draft selection is typically weak and, while endearing at times, the narrow nature of the place can make it almost too crowded to function during a performance.
Great menu. Falafel is amazing. Their seasoned fries are also great (I suggest getting a side of spicy peanut sauce with them). Their draft list never disappoints. It's a little tight, but pretty cozy
Great food! Best falafel in the city. Love this northside bar. The staff are friendly. Bluegrass night on Wednesday is a bit hit! Fun thing to do during the week on the cheap. No cover.
