We had a great visit today for lunch. Greeted immediately by Abby. Great energy and conversation Food was quick, hot and delicious! Thank you Abby and Rob! Can’t wait to return back!
Fun sports bar with a deck/outside bar as well. This place is a great place to be to watch any sport. Also a great place to meet great people from the city....lots of pokémon lol
Busy, sports, food. As busy as it gets, the folks here are still able to maintain that neighborhood pub vibe where everyone can feel welcome and like they always have room for one more. The wings are crispy, even the ones with wet sauce. 😋 draft beers come in the taller glasses, 20oz?
Enjoy it on a busy night, but I also encourage you to swing by again on a quiet evening and just take it for what it is, a relaxing place to chill out and unwind a little. Folks are really laid back in this bar, I've never seen anyone super wound up or acting a fool. They just don't abide it.
Dear William Penn Tavern,
I just wanted to thank you for running an excellent establishment. I came for happy hour tonight, and had some Guinness and some onion rings. I absolutely love onion rings, and I was very happy with the sizable portion that you provided. The server was excellent, and always greeted us with a smile. I especially love that you have the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip still up. That’s one of my favorite comic strips and it’s a great addition to the restaurant. keep up the great work and I can’t wait to come back. Cheers.
Outstanding bar/tavern that was formerly located in Shadyside. Wings cannot be beat - get the “kitchen sink” version.
The WPT has moved locations but their cheesesteaks haven’t changed. Soft hoagie roll isn’t my choice, but works well for this sub. A little extra pepper relish on the side for a little heat, but can’t forget a lite line of Heinz to top off this. I remember the wings being pretty tasty too.
Kitchen sink wings extra crispy!! Can't go wrong. One of the friendliest staffs in Pittsburgh.
Without question, this place has the best cheese steak I've ever had. Admittedly, I haven't been everywhere, but I've been to a lot of places. I finally introduced my wife to it, and it's her favorite, as well. For one, they use white American cheese, which surprised me, but makes quite a difference. It's also served with a pepper relish on the side, which adds a really nice sweet and spicy flavor. Something else they have here that I've never seen anywhere else is a Honey Cajun sauce for their wings. We were a little skeptical, but I'm glad we decided to give it a try. It is absolutely amazing! This place has a nice family-friendly sports bar atmosphere, with the one downside being that it can be a little loud. If you want a quiet conversation or an intimate evening, this might not be the best choice. The service is also great. Parking can be a challenge and Lawrenceville isn't my favorite place, but this food is well worth the trip.
Went to the wpt for the night for some good drinks. They had a pitcher of bud light for 7.50 as well as .50 boneless wings. We ordered 10 wings. 5 buffalo and 5 voodoo. The voodoo was still cold in the midldle and so was the buffalo so we sent them back to be cooked thouroughly. Im pretty sure they just put them in the mocrowave. Which whatever i suppose. We ate those and then asked to sample the kitchen sink sauce. It was ok. The voodoo sauce which is supposed to be the hottest sauce they have wasnt that hot to me
Even though hubby liked it. Id go again but i will make sure my food is hot or im walking out the door.
Only had wings but they were excellent all around. You can order $1 wings any quantity so a fine way to try several different sauces, though their classic wing sauce is good too. Cozy place with great service.
The wings were out of this world. So crispy and the mild sauce and ranch were delicious. As a Philadelphia native the cheesesteak was excellent the roll, cheese and onions tasted phenomenal the steak was delicious but to me the only flaw was it was cut a tad to thick, if they could slice the steak a little bit more thin I would put that as the best cheesesteak in Pittsburgh hands down.
Best cheesesteaks and wings in Pittsburgh. Always great service. Great place to watch any sporting event.
