Wow… This place has AMAZING subs and is popular!! A small group (co-workers) of us came in on a weekday for lunch, but we got there on the tail end of the lunch rush, around 1PM… There was a long line to place the order, but it was impressive watching them manning the grills they had… making sandwiches and subs!
I tried their Uncle Sam's Special Steak and it was great… Their fries are really good too, but I heard they’re free/included if you dine in. The place was packed, but we still got decent service and enjoyed our lunch.

I haven’t been here in a long time. I used to frequent Uncle Sams a lot in High School and College. Miss the old friends i used to come here with . It still tasted great and is fairly priced for the quality. Soft bun, juicy steak and crispy fries.
Best sandwich I have ever had. I got the turkey and provolone warm with cheese fries and my boyfriend got the pepper Philly. They both checked off all the boxes on what a sandwich should taste like. Highly recommend!!! Cheap, great service and, to our surprise, you get free fries when dining in!
Veggie combo sandwich was pretty solid. A little bigger than I needed. French fries were great. It would be great if they had a half sandwich and cup of soup deal. Staff was friendly.
Love this location. Every uncle sams is on point but the staff here are always in such good moods and it makes it a very pleasant experience! The food is also fire always. Reasonable prices, good drink options, outdoor seating and lots of parking!
Uncle Sam's Sandwich Bar is the kind of place you go when you are in Pittsburgh, PA, and you have a hankering for a delicious, Hoagie sandwich. Their sandwiches are one of the best Hoagies that I have had in Pittsburgh. I really enjoy the Filet Mignon Steak Sandwich. I normally get it from the Robinson Township location. The steak is thinly cut topped with onions, cheese lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, and a Vinaigrette dressing. They also serve, Cheese Steak, Turkey breasts, Subs, Italian sausage Subs, provolone and egg, Stuff Italian Tuna Subs, Ham and Cheese Subs, and many more In addition, they have a very nice vegetarian Sub selection where they have a Mediterranean Sub, a Vegetable Combo Sub, Rome Vegetable Sub, Vegetable Florentine and the Portobello Sub is another favorite of mine. The prices are very fair and there is parking out front.

December 2020 and I am still loving Uncle Sam's Buffalo chicken sandwich! ... Buffalo chicken sandwich is full of flavor with a little tang! Sandwiches are always excellent, flavorful, love the bun they use. Fries are nicely cooked, overall really worth checking out if you haven't been there. Also noticed they offer a lot of Vegetarian sandwiches also.
Food is bomb prices for subs range from 8-10$ 10inches so good. Place is classy and clean staff all looked styled. Abit high tentions but it's a bar aswell so they deal with alot it's not bad. All gloved up cooked in front of you. Only if here is no mask n that's controversial but for those that care I over looked it food sooo good. Also I missed out! If u dine in u get FREE fries!!!!!
The food is great! I had the special Italian sub and it was fantastic! The service was great and the atmosphere is awesome!! Will definitely return!
I wish I could give more than 5 stars! This place was amazing. It is a great sandwich shop. No extra bells and whistles. But the sandwiches! So, so good. We ordered a Philly steak and cheese and and a special Italian. Fries were complimentary if you dined in the restaurant 😋 . Everything was great, from the food to the nostalgic memorabilia on the walls. They also serve beer, in bottle or on tap. Husband tried the micro brew and said he liked it. 🤷♀️ overall, will most definitely be back!
