Beautiful restaurant experience, the views from here are amazing. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. They also had a small menu book and gift bag for the kids which was so cute. I really love how they were intentional about preparing kids for an upscale dining experience. The food was prepared well & it was tasteful! I had a wonderful birthday dinner with my 2 little ones 💕
This is THE spot for any special occasion (or for an elegant meal). The service here is amazing from start to finish, the chef even came out to speak with us! Any dish you get here will be good. (Sides are ordered separately) They’re known for their crab cakes and I ALWAYS get the angel cake grilled cheese for dessert! It’s a must.
The elevator ride to the restaurant is also a fun part of the experience.
If you're looking for a wedding/reception dinner venue, look no further!! Monterey Bay was SO accommodating to our requests/needs & helped so much setting the room up the day of. It was such a stress-free experience & the food was amazing. Could not have asked for a better day - thank you so much! ❤️
Crab cakes, scallops, and raw oysters were delicious. The roasted carrots were very flavorful and a nice vegetable touch.
Dessert Recommendation: Angel Food Grilled Cheese Sandwich.
Dine here for a special occasion as all items are a la carte and on the pricey side and to enjoy viewing Pittsburgh's specular cityscape.

Ordered the Chilean Salmon with Chimichurri. It was great.
Also tried the crab cakes. They were delicious. The calamari and bruschetta were also excellent.
Their desserts were also delicious. My favorite was a small cake with berries.
The views of the city and the river delta were beautiful and impressive.
Definitely a place to take your spouse or loved one and enjoy.
Definitely one of the better restaurants in Pittsburgh with 5 stars for the Ambiente and view across the city. The food was satisfying but dishes lacked some finesse and balancing of flavor by some acidity - both main dishes and desserts. The service was friendly but could have been a bit more attentive for a large party like ours.
Favorite dishes included the crab cakes, the branzino and the swordfish. The tuna was good but the portion was gigantic and seemed to cover the actual quality of the fish. Would not recommend the Sea Bass, at least in my case it didn’t seem to be fully cooked and was a bit slimy inside.
Would go again for a special occasion in Pittsburgh
Absolutely wonderful experience. Went to the lounge area (walk past the host and take the stairs down): no reservation, same full menu as the overall restaurant, somehow better views, and fantastic live music. Food, service, and atmosphere here are some of the best in Pittsburgh.
Great job with the food and presentation. The angel food grilled cheese sandwich has been voted the best dessert in Pittsburgh two years in a row. The views are spectacular and the food is just as awesome.
It doesn't get much better than this! Special night for a birthday celebration and our server, Christopher, made us feel at home with his friendly hospitality and insights on the entrees, portions, and pairings. Everything from the espresso martini and wine selection, appetizers like calamari and prosciutto, and entress Ahi Tuna, Seafood Pasta, and Lobster were absolutely delish! And, the view! Wow! We will be back!
Everything about this place is amazing. The food is just way too good and the drinks are strong. The swordfish was the best fish I've ever had and the views are amazing. Valet is cool but if you park you can walk right to the the overlook across the street. LOVE this place
