This place is awesome. The bread was so soft and adding honey to it was amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection. The potato skins we ordered were the best I've ever had!!! Next time I'm in town I will absolutely eat here again.
We're traveling through Utah and my husband picked our dinner spot last night but kept it a surprise. I loved the Prairie Schooner the instant I saw it! Then we stepped inside and that sealed the deal! The seating inside your very own "schooner" is the best. Private and cozy with plenty of lighting but not overly bright. You feel like your dining in the great outdoors... there are even stars above! Our waitress, Cami, was FANTASTIC! We had so much fun with her and she made our evening! Sometimes it's the little things that make a dining experience just right and they nailed them all! They were playing the good old country music from when it was still real country music, the dinner salad was iceberg lettuce not that cheap "spring mix" everyone uses now, it was topped with so many goodies and served on a chilled plate! I love chilled salad plates! That with fresh baked bread was a great start. My husband ordered the halibut and wanted it lightly cooked...Cami made sure she talked with the cook and it came out perfectly cooked to my husband's liking. My BBQ ribs literally fell off the bones. They were tender and tasty. Cami checked on us throughout the meal and never once did we feel rushed. Another thing that amazed me is that the restaurant has been at this location for many, many years but nothing about it felt drab or old! It was clean and well kept. Thank you for a wonderful evening with my husband... and thank you Cami for all the laughs.... Todd and Candi (Apple.... honest!)
My family and I are visiting Utah all the way from South Texas, since we have family here. My sisters boyfriend chose our dinner spot and he chose this place. As soon as we showed up, I loved the look of the place. The interior is incredible, with the taxidermy animals and design. The seating area was definitely the best part: the tables designed to look like wagons surrounding multiple taxidermy animals, desert/western outdoor decor and actual small campfires (proper ventilation for the smoke) was absolutely incredible.
Our server was absolutely wonderful as well. I can't remember his name, unfortunately, but he heard my family speak Spanish (our native and main language) and he spoke to us in Spanish as well! He joked with us and made the atmosphere feel even more pleasant and warm. (Not sure if he'll see this, but my father gave him a Mexican pesos bill !! I really do wish I could remember his name)
Overall, this place is absolutely wonderful. This place actually has the best ribs and mashed potatoes I've ever had, and that's coming from a native Texan! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who's nearby.
This was our first visit to Prairie Schooner and we already look forward to going back. We didn't have reservations but we had no trouble getting a table. The decor is unique with lots of things to look at. We weren't quite ready for dinner so we stopped in and shared an appetizer. We had the loaded potato skins and they were delicious! They also offer a full menu with lots of items to choose from. No matter your preference, there's something for everyone. The customer service was excellent (unlike other restaurants these days!) My parents are coming from out of state to visit for my 50th birthday and I plan on bringing them here for dinner over Labor Day Weekend. I highly recommend giving Prairie Schooner a try!
We went here for our anniversary and had a great experience! Our waitress was wonderful, and the food was amazing. We LOVE the mushrooms, and the French onion soup was delicious as well.
I got the steak and shrimp. The shrimp were ginormous and juciy. Not overcooked and crunchy on the outside. The steak was cooked perfectly but needed salt. The decorations were amazing but if taxidermy animals aren't your thing, you should probably skip this place
This place is a hidden gem of this town. I seen a tic toc and had to come and check it out for myself. They food was spot on, Kevin our waiter was wonderful and the atmosphere was really cool also. Price wasn't to bad also. Loved the fried mushrooms and there was plenty for our party of 5 . Check this place out of your in town.
We love to experience to try new places. So, we drove 1h and 1/2 to get there but every mile was worthy. This place is unique , their food are delicious and we will definitely come back.
As a longtime fan of the Oregon Trail game, I've had my eye on this restaurant for a while. I took my family, and while we were expecting a great atmosphere, we did not expect such incredible food! We were truly blown away. We had the sirloin steak, country fried steak, and grilled chicken -- all delicious. Everything was top notch and the atmosphere did not disappoint. Our waitress was also kind and helpful. We'll definitely be back!
Great place to eat dinner. The food was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We brought our kids and they loved all the to look at it. We loved the picture and background information of the "wanted" poster! Fun to read to the kids. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we look forward to coming back.
