The Sonora Grill

If anyone isn't eating at this place, then they are missing out. This is the best of Ogden, but still trying to accommodate the local expectation and budget. I won't be eating at another Mexican restaurant without comparing to this experience, and I am more than a little picky when it comes to this style. So much of their menu is fresh, local, housemaid, it's hard to say what is best. If you are underwhelmed in any way it was a one-off. It's an absolutely obvious place to stop!

Really impressed with the vegan menu and the fajita-burrito thing I ordered - the sauce was smokey and delicious. You can add cheese to make it vegetarian. I can vouch that the guacamole is also great. Service from Nick was excellent, even in spite of some confusion caused by the party I was dining with. Even the green tea was delicious!

I am a regular at Sonora Grill and have always had a great dining experience here. The food is absolutely worth the money, and I appreciate the clearly labeled vegan options, which can be customized with cheese if desired. I have tried several dishes, and I can honestly say I've never had anything bad here. The staff is friendly and accommodating, creating a pleasant atmosphere. However, the only drawback is the slow seating process. It can be frustrating to wait for a table, and I hope they can improve the efficiency in this aspect. My only regret is that they no longer offer the fried avocado salad, which used to be my favorite. Despite this, I continue to enjoy the diverse menu and the overall ambiance of the restaurant. I highly recommend Sonora Grill for its delicious food and welcoming environment, even though the slow seating and the absence of the avocado salad keep it from earning a full five stars in my book

My 1st visit likely will not be my last. I had all 3 of their salsas with chips. All were flavorful, with just enough heat to enjoy. I ordered the Carne Asada Plate. The steak was cooked perfectly, with just enough char. Flavorful and tender. Black beans were also perfect. Their margaritas were also spot on.

The context here is that we are from NYC, and we are picky about food. The thought and care that goes into the food here, with so much being handmade, is next level, particularly for such a small city. The salad greens are grown locally by the same owner! (And I highly recommend anything that has the greens on it - delicious.) The rotating cocktails are always incredible... some of the best I've had in Utah. Everything is reasonably priced, and the portions seem quite large. Yes, you do pay for chips and salsa. The salsa is made fresh, and I'd rather pay a small amount for salsa made that week than get free salsa that is months if not years old. Anyway. Great spot.

Our server was the sweetest! She knew we we having a mommy's out brunch she was awesome with keeping out drinks full. And let us hang out for a while. She wasn't trying to push us 3 of the door. We appreciated her very much! So we left her a 30 dollar tip!! I wish I had remembered your name! But thank you!

We have been here several times now. Todays lunch was very good! Hubby got the carne Asada plate, I might have to get that next time because it was delicious! I got the chicken taco salad, it was packed full of a variety of flavors that blended perfectly together! Ok so THE FLAN! Oh WOW!! The absolute most beautiful display of flan we had ever seen and it was made to perfection!!!! Robert did a PERFECT job of being our waiter!!!! Our glasses were always full and he was very attentive… We usually have to wait about 20 minutes for our food after we order and it was pretty cold in the restaurant for our grandmother and I but my husband enjoyed the coolness. Thank you for a great experience, we look forward to our next Sonora Grill experience. 👍🏼👍🏼😘
