PAULISTA is s great example of good honest Brazilian food in Oakland, CA. I've tried Paulista over 5 times on different occasions and the food there is always great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. The staff is caring, attentive and the service overall is very good. The restaurant has a youthful look and it is a down to earth spot, perfect for happy hours, informal meals and friends and family gathering. The owners: Jesse and Alex Yamamoto are both gentlemen and are always there, helping and entertaining the public. The local beer on tap huge selection adds magic to this place! And the Trivia Night is a lot of fun! Overall a good meal and great value! My friends and I will certainly be going back.

I was googling taproom in Oakland and Paulista came up. Not knowing that they just opened, so I asked my roommate who is an aficionado on craft beers. He said that they have a great selection on their tap beers and the food was excellent. The service was a bit slow but that is expected for a new restaurant. But once we figured it out....the service was awesome...the beertender was great...very good looking I must say and the owner is awesome...he had explained to us how their flights worked....I would recommend to all my friends.

Raining Sunday, looking for something out of the ordinary and ended up here! The staff was nice enough to wipe down the seats on the patio since we brought our pups but Mother Nature had other plans and ended up getting it togo. Everything was so scrumptious and flavorful! It was as if getting a big warm hug :) Really enjoyed their Bobō mixed with the rice and pão de Queijo (cheese puff). Can't wait to be back to try the other goodies!

Being Brazilian myself, I felt home in the restaurant. Feijoada and bobó de camarão were delicious. Coxinha is a must try. There is also an amazing selection of beers. Try the caipirinha, you will definitely enjoy :) Friendly staff and nice environment.

Great spot for a beer, lots of excellent choices. Clean open space. Menu looks interesting and delicious, will be back to try. Sports TV in awkward spot could use one on same wall as taps.

Pretty unique place and menu with acai bowls, smoothies, empanadas, cocktails, beer on tap, beignets, meaty dinner entrees, and cashew ice cream and espresso drinks. Great atmosphere for hanging out with friends or family, very friendly pub style vibe, but open and airy too like a European cafe.

Excellent Brazilian cafe! Flavorful, fresh, and delicious cuisine! Lots of treats and pastries to enjoy. The empanadas were flaky, yet soft and packed with tasty delights. Mango toast was an inviting presentation with a surprising explosion of flavor at first bite! Ample seating, family friendly, and has a nice little patio outside to enjoy your meal al fresco. Owner Alex Yamamoto was very welcoming and courteous and took the time to talk with his patrons and ensure their meal and experience there was enjoyable. This place should definitely be put on any "foodies" bucket list. Bon Appetit!
