Only place open in the middle of the night and what a pleasant surprise these donuts were. Delicious & great prices - was surprised this place wasn’t busier. Actually came back to get a dozen for the drive home😂👌

I patiently drive out of my way to shop at Colonial Donuts specifically to get my favorite donuts...old-fashioned or buttermilk. Of course there is the range of traditional donut choices but also have really yummy other flavors you can't find anywhere else!!

The best donut place in Oakland. They are open 24 hours, and usually have a hot batch around dinner/8 PM or so.

I have been enjoying Colonial Donuts off and on for years. My most recent visit was a mixed bag. The cruller and cinnamon butterfly were well received but the chocolate old fashion was day old and the person who had the apple fritter found it too sweet.

24 hours, and consistently stocked doughnut shelves. Friendly, look you in the eye, service by the sweet lady at the front. Not stand-offish, very nice, warm and genuine spirit. When I started to wipe the counter from my spilled coffee, she said: no worry, I will clean that, no worry. So nice.
Excellent variety, and freshness is key.
They offer the sweetest doughnuts you've ever seen, and the freshest "healthy" alternative croissant type pastry too.
The coffee is EXCELLENT, and high quality, not cheap coffeemaker black, like you see in a lot of those places. I got hazelnut when I was there. It was PERFECT!

Been eating donuts 30 years from them they used to have hot donuts chocolate dripping at 400 am also good scratchers

Been going here for years- great donuts, friendly and quick service, I like their ham cheese egg bacon "croissanwich" which they always offer to heat up for you... had their mocha freeze (I think) recently, very yummy... they have bags of day old bagels for cheap~ hope they never close...!
