Great stop for bubble tea and a quick break from walking but there is not anywhere to sit -
We got 2 and loved each - Oreo & coffee and the tapioca bubbles were as normal yummy
The seal and the straws don’t always cooperate so you might ‘wear’ a little of the drink! Not as clean inside which is why I knocked a star off
We got 3 teas they were good except one We didn't like much the bubbles were rubbery and didn't pop, we probably didn't know what we were ordering but pretty nice place. Loved the pineapple one! It was raining really hard and they let us stay there without rushing us out.
It was really good! The tea I got was very fruity and the Boba was pretty well done. It is small but so are most places in New York city so it not to surprising. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy fruity teas and slushies. They do not have milk teas though.
Suuuuper tiny storefront. I've been visiting this Vivi location once or twice a month for the last six or so years. My recent visit was the first time since March 2020 and they've renovated! It looks great! Nice that they were able to revamp the place during quarantine and I hope they continue to get business during these times. With the renovation comes some changes. Mainly, the bench with Homer Simpson is gone and I don't think he'll be making a comeback either.
ALSO, NEW HOURS OF OPERATION: 12 PM - 6:30 PM
They pared down their counter space for customers and the stools are gone. I personally love that you can't sit down anymore because some people/tourists looove to hang out and clog this tiny store in ye old pre-covid times. Not a negative in my opinion that the seating is gone. This place is too small to have too many people inside at once. Will the bar stools return? Not sure, hopefully not. It's not that big of a deal to begin with.
The door has signs posted that let's you know that you need to wear a mask before entering and to remember to keep your distance when you queue up to order. Remember this place is tiny.
Anyway, service wise, the girls are nice and they're protected by a plexiglass a the front counter. I've got 0 complaints with this place and brand in general. I frequent their Ave U Brooklyn location much more but I always stop by here if I'm ever in Chinatown which is usually once a month. They've got a nice selection of bubble milk teas, fruit teas, slushee's and snacks. You can't go wrong checking them out. I prefer Vivi over the likes of the other boba stores on this same block because their teas don't taste powdery.
Vivi Bubble Tea is one of the oldest bubble tea shops with lots of branches in NYC. When we moved to New York 5 years ago there weren’t lots of options of bubble tea brand, only CoCo, Kung Fu Tea and Vivi Bubble Tea.
If we were eager to have bubble tea or Taiwanese snack, we would visit Vivi Bubble Tea. The options on their menu are various with reason price. Their drink was not really our type but food was pretty decent.
Our favorites of Vivi Bubble Tea are their popcorn chicken and fried fish cake, not the drinks. Our last visit we tried their new menu Taro creme brûlée and it was not surprisingly good but better than the bubble milk tea.
