We had the most wonderful rehearsal dinner for our son and his fiancé tonight. The food was amazing and the service was beyond perfect. Thank you for a truly memorable celebration.

A very low Italian restaurant who served a variety of dishes and drinks. 2/5 Food 2/5 Service 2/5 Prices (Overpriced) 4/5 Atmosphere

A fantastic experience!!! Truly a romantic and lovely atmosphere with a great staff! John was a fantastic server and helped us even pronounce our Italian dishes better. We celebrated out anniversary and will be coming back again soon!

Food was good but pretty expensive for what it was. The tip is added by default... I hate when a restaurant does that.

Unbelievable! This place is amazing! Giorgio and the wait staff was so attentive and the food was marvelous! The carbonara was perfect. The chocolate mouse cake was delicious. The table side Caesar salads were spot on! Lovely restaurant!

As a guest at the Hilton, we were offered breakfast here. The offering was not good. Selection was minimal and staff were not bothered. The restaurant was dark in decor and appeared old fashioned. I can't comment on an evening meal but only for breakfast

Was staying at the hotel and went down there for the convenience since it was really cold and windy and I didn't want to walk down the block to another, CHEAPER breakfast spot. The waitstaff was okay but I was just ordering food to go, so I didn't expect much. So, my order was French toast with a side of potatoes and sausage and an American breakfast which consisted of 2 eggs any way, potatoes, bacon and toast. I had cheese added to my eggs. For drinks an apple juice, cranberry juice and coffee. For all of this I waited around 20 minutes. Got there at 9am was out by 9:22am The quality of this food was just plain sad. I understand that it is located in a hotel, but to my knowledge this is a whole separate establishment. I have had better quality food at a continental breakfast from a MOTEL. First disappointment, I had ordered bacon with my breakfast but got sausage instead. Second disappointment, the potatoes we hard and best at room temperature, no flavor, I guess that is why they call them potatoes instead of home fries. Even though they are shaped like home fries. The cheese used for the eggs tasted like it was processed and cheap. The most disappointing was the sausage that I didn't even want. Just looking at it you knew it was dry. Dry. Sausage. And it didn't even taste like real meat. I took one bite and that was it. My friend said the French toast was okay but nothing to brag about. Her sausage and potatoes were just as bad as mine. They gave me my coffee black, no cream or sugar in the bag and when I asked for some, they told me to make the coffee right there in the restaurant. The only stuff that we finished from the order was the drinks and French toast. Total bill? $70.88. I do not know about their Italian food, since the reviews for that are amazing. But save your money and disappointment and do not get their breakfast. Wish I had just bundled up and got a better meal for a much better price down the block.

The restaurant was clean and nicely laid out, friendly staff, seating outside is available. Food was good but pretty expensive for what it was. They didn't have a wine or dessert list to choose from. The tip is set at 20% and is automatically added to your bill...

I am no expert on authenticity but walking in felt exactly like what a NYC Italian restaurant was supposed to be like. White table clothes, dim lighting, gregarious conversations and a slew of waiters running everywhere. Had the house made lobster ravioli that were certainly filling. The salami and Parmesan before the entree and the canola for dessert were the total bonus 👍🏾

The Worst. The worst experience I've had at a restaurant. They took over the Eightstone Restaurant at DoubleTree Hilton in the Financial District. A disaster of a night. The restaurant was empty, but when we asked for a substitution they said no. That's our policy and there is nothing you can do about it. Really? Because you're so crowded? The waiter was condescending, the food was just okay but the experience was awful. Don't go. Try somewhere else or cook. Just don't eat here.

No longer a favorite. Was here on my last visit to NYC a year ago and it was one of the best experiences ever. Went again last week, and it was one of the worst. I think the Maitre D' was also my server as he was in a tuxedo. After taking my order, I never saw him again until the end of the meal. He did not check on me once during appetizer or entree. I would have liked a glass of wine with the meal. There is a cart with jugs of some sorts of booze that they offer you as part of the meal. This was not offered to me at all but it was to the group tables. (And to me on my visit a year ago). At the end of the meal , the guy in the tux appears and says "Do you want dessert or anything"? Does not even bring the dessert cart to me. Looks like he missed the course on "upselling". And the guys that brought my food both called me "Boss", I don't where the hell that comes from.. The food was mediocre for the price, my salmon appetizer plate was literally covered completely with chopped parsley. Even though there were many empty tables (weekday night after 8pm), I clearly got the impression that they no longer wanted the business of single diners, even though there is a business hotel across the street. Based on other reviews, maybe I just got a lousy waiter, but I'm not going back.

Excellent. We had a dinner last night at Ancora and we liked it a lot. The service was pleasant and professional, food was great and we liked the desert. I had their special spinach ravioli and my husband had linguine with calms. We both enjoyed it. They had a perfect desert presentation and delicious home made grappa, which I loved. We will definitely come back

$43 for an average veal parm? No way.

First Rate. Unbelievable menu choices and daily specials provided by the maestro, Tony Fantastico. Prompt and efficient service includes antipasta brought to the table while pondering your choice for entree. Surperb wine list, and house made after dinner drinks. Home made pastas, many fresh seafood dishes, including branzino, along with chicken, veal and steak dishes. Pricey but worth it.

Just plain good Italian Food. I can't say enough about the food at Ancora -- it's just simply good delicious food, well prepared and plenty of it. The service is exceptional. I have never been disappointed. If you have a fondness for Italian food and have not been to Ancora, you really owe it to yourself to give them a try. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Linda Maia Hadi
www.LindaSellsNY.com

Tony Fantastico greeted us as we walked into Ancora, and yes, that’s his real name. He’s not the host, not a waiter or staff, but instead one of the owners of the restaurant. Every night either he or Elio Albanese is here making customers feel welcome and
