Dishes on their menu sound really confusing , but the description of each dish is exactly what you get on the plate . The fried shrimp with guacamole was a delicious... The salmon and shrimp main courses are awesome too!

Good food. I went here with a few friends on a Friday night - the place was packed and i couldnt hear a thing anyone was saying! one good thing, you can bring your own wine, but i believe they charge a corking fee.
the food is delicious, obviously the chicken is the most popular dish. i'd skip the fries and sausage, tastes like a really salty hot dog? the fried rice is good too!
overall, food was good, atmosphere was subpar. one suggestion - make a less messy chicken dish - maybe they could use boneless chicken breast? i think that would be a big hit.

Get the sangria and the chicken dinner. Very cool spot... no reservations, though,, so plan to wait. The sangria will keep you company though... Nice Guac salad.

The best pollo in NYC. Don't forget the sangria.

The third place for today's post is Pio Pio. I went there with Jen and Safron. We split the Matadore dinner and a pitcher of sangria. The sangria wasn't too sweet. The meal came with a whole roasted chicken, salchipapas (french fries and sausages), an avocado salad, fried plantains, rice and beans, and of course the spicy green sauce that they're so famous for. Everything was delicious, and the food ran around $12 per person.

…So I ordered a quarter of a tasty, juicy, nicely seasoned, and crackly-skinned chicken with a side of aromatic yellow rice and savory red beans. It comes with a bright and kicky herbal sauce, and for 12 bucks, including tip, I got a hot meal—more than I

It must be difficult for NYC restaurants these days to manage the tension between eat in service and the higher demand of take out. I enjoyed a dine in dinner here with the classic Juanitas chicken and a side of fried yucca, a useless vegetable (or fruit- no its a tuber so must be vegetable) which was great. I’ve been to all three Pio Pio locations and never been disappointed with the food. However this location, being small and narrow, involves a lot of traffic along the one aisle with food prep and delivery heroes. So its hard to say if I’d come back for dine in, as much as I enjoy the food, but I also can’t imagine eating that tasty hot fried yucca after 20 minutes on the back of a moped.

Good, basic tasty food. Tostadas were exactly what I wanted.

Great service and great food! This location is small but we got our food quick and they took care of us. I was impressed with how quick our food came out considering we were a part of a large order. The food is delicious. I would definitely come back!

Just the place to scratch a roasted-chicken itch. It's a no frills sort of restaurant chain - there are what, 9 in NYC? - and the lunch deal is unbeatable. A quarter-chicken, roasted deliciously, spiced wonderfully, comes with a side (I recommend the tostones for a tasty crunchy thing you won't do at home) with a little simple salad+avocado, very quick service, considering most of the orders at lunchtime are the special after all. We also ordered the salchipapas, thinking we might was some fries and hey, hot dogs. Oops. So much food, the server thought that was instead of one of the lunch specials. We left full to bursting for a very reasonable bill. Definitely take a look if the area is your lunch destination.

I love Pio Pio. This is Peruvian food restaurant. Try avocado salad, chicken empanadas and chicken with rice and beans. You will like it! Also try house made Sangria, red or white..
