Having frequented the Hells Kitchen location extensively, we decided to go to the LES location as we were in the area.
I'm happy to say that the experience was a positive one. We ordered a host of empanadas, inckuding the Bombay, Brasil, Shredded Chicken, and Viagra, and enjoyed all of them. For dessert, we ordered the Nutella and Banana Empanada (delicious, with a kick of cinnamon) and the Romeo and Juliet Empanada (novel but extremely cheesy with a hint of guava).
The service was quite efficient and the place was playing wonderful, upbeat music that really brought the place alive. Highly recommend!

I was so hungry and worried about the wait, since it’s pretty popular. We got there just in time to taste an amazing frozen margarita, delicious yellow rice and beans, that my sister almost bit my hand of trying to sneak a bite. The tostones were the best I’ve had in a long time. Crunchy on the edges and thicker in the middle which is different for me and so damn good! I love me some different. The empanadas to get is the Viagra and Bourbon Chicken. I will not stop raving about these two until the day I die. Magnificent.
Of course, our waiter, damn, I didn’t get his name, was amazing. So courteous, so sweet, and made us laugh a lot. Great experience and outstanding food. I am definitely returning to this location.

I 've nere thought I would eat something so fresh and delicious from a "take away" store. Avocado salad was rich and enough. Chicken soup with rice looked small but eventually it filled up my stomach. It was so tasty and the broth rich and full. I am eating again.

So many options! Honestly, I spent a good amount of time just deciding what I wanted. I ended up ordering 3 empanadas - Jerk Chicken, Ground Corn Beef and the Bourbon Chicken. My favorites were the jerk chicken which had Swiss cheese so the flavors were really good. You got a little bit of spice and then the saltiness of the cheese. I really liked the bourbon chicken with the mushrooms as well. It was a bit oily. I think I preferred the wheat empanadas versus the corn but I’ll be back to try again.

This is the dream spot for empanada lovers who love flavors from Latin American. The pernil was my personal favorite but I highly recommend you get multiple different flavors to try. They are generous with the fillings which is the key to the perfect empanadas!

We came across this restaurant by accident. It was late and we were looking for a late night snack. This place is open 24 hours! We ordered a medium pitcher of margaritas, which was a great amount for 2 people to have fun! We ordered 5 empanadas. We got El jefe, jerk and cheese, Bombay, bourbon chicken, and Mac and cheese. My favorites were Bombay, bourbon chicken, and el jefe. The meat in these options was tender and delicious. If you like curry, you’ll love the Bombay! The vegetables in the bourbon chicken were such a wonderful addition. Both sauces were very good and the red was a little spicy too. The Mac and cheese was good, but too rich for me. The red sauce really cut down the richness and balanced it out, but the other options were better in my opinion. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We would absolutely come back!

Second time visiting because I love the variety of empanadas they have and the amazing happy hour times ! Victoria and CeeCee definitely made the vibe good while I was there ! Excellent service from these two ladies ! Drinks are gooooood and a very large size in comparison to the price! Empanadas are great !

This place lives up to the hype as they roll out consistency based on what I’ve seen after a couple times of going.
There is a back section available for seating as well if you’re finding that the front is filled up. You want to pick up the food to go or make sure that you’re there for a quick bite. It’s a fast casual environment and gets busy as it’s one of the few spots open late at night in this area for that purpose.

I was really happy to find this 24hr spot on my last day in NYC. It was perfect for a quick brunch by the hotel before heading to the airport. They have three vegan empanadas: portobello, rice & beans, and veggie. I got the lunch special for $12.50 which includes your choice or two empanadas with a side of rice and beans. The veggie empanada was my favorite. The filling reminded me a bit of a pot pie. The portobello Empanada was really good also. The mushroom flavor came through strongly and was pretty meaty. It's nice to have 24hr vegan options!

This place is wonderfullllll - especially late night! ;) My partner and I landed in NY around midnight, and were able to pop in and get some delicious empanadas. A lot of flavorful options, and I'm gluten free which works perfectly with corn-based foods.
Love the easy self-service kiosks where you can just order and wait for your food. Still, the workers are helpful if/when needed.
There's a limited number of seats/tables, but honestly this place has a to-go vibe anyway!

Love this place! Quality hand-made not too greasy empanadas, wonderful sauces, friendly people. The empanadas are made fresh to order, so it can take a few minutes, but it's totally worth it.

Went here on a crazy night the vibes was insane. I really appreciated the waitress with the glasses. It was very busy in there but she made the time to learn a new cocktail that wasn't on the menu for me and also made a ton of great recommendations. The food was immaculate, her recommendations were spot on!!! I highly recommend Empanada Mamas to anyone in the area looking to get good eats :).

Great food with lots of options. Always go for the Pernil, and Beef Empanadas and take home a few of the Sweet fig/cheese- guava/cheese dessert empanadas. Their guava shake made with sweet water is AMAZING! Plus the managers are super sweet and engaging. Recommend this place at any time of the day or night!
