Review Rocco's Pasticerria - New York City

Erin Hunter
The croissants are heavenly! The coffee is amazing, and the atmosphere is peaceful and refreshing. This restaurant is extremely cozy and the best place to enjoy a cold rainy day in the city. Can’t wait to go back!

If you have never been here, you have to make it a must stop. There are so many wonderful, pastries, and desserts to choose from. I can assure you everybody will be happy when they leave because there’s certainly something for everybody. Cheesecakes, Pastries, Cookies, Italian Biscotti, Gourmet Specialty Cakes, you name it, they have it! This is my go to place to buy treats to bring back home. This is a must stop on every trip I take to New York City. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this wonderful place!

Pasticceria Rocco in NYC is a gem! The cookies are excellent, and the desserts are absolutely fabulous. What sets this place apart is not just the delicious treats but also their convenient hours. Opening early and staying open late, it's a perfect spot for a sweet fix at any time of the day. I'm a fan of their cookies, and they stay impressively fresh, making them my go-to choice when I want to bring a delightful treat to clients. A must-visit for dessert enthusiasts in the city!

I don’t know about the other items. We drove here for the Cannolis. The coffee wasn’t the greatest. Good pastry shop.

Old school Italian pastry and coffee shop with excellent assortment of cookies. I go to Rocco’s any time I need to bring something sweet and delicious to a friend’s house - they must have 20+ types of pastries, either prepackaged or choose your own. Very well priced

Pasticceria Rocco is very charming. It has a lovely old school vibe to it. The back patio was adorable! The selection I photographed was at like 7pm. They had a great selection especially in the evening hours. I ordered a mini key lime pie. It was decent. The pie quality is why I gave 4 stars.

This place was very good. Our server Ufuk I was exceptional. He brought everything we asked for and was very attentive to us. He made sure that everything was okay. The food was really good as well. I would definitely recommend this place and the server

Been coming here for 30 years for double espressos. Love the place. Great breakfast, can’t miss stop in the Village. Grab a double and head to Father Demo Square all day.

Really great bakery. They have good coffee too. Wide assortment of amazing pastries and very innovative coffee and tea offerings. There’s sit down service and food available. There’s a back patio that I forgot to photograph. It’s very quaint

The only thing I have tried so far is their Ice. Really smooth texture and unlike other Italian Ices, very sour without all the sugar. They make it themselves and it is up there with top Ice in NYC for me. For that alone, worth the trip.

One of the few old school Italian pastry shops left in NYC. Always love the aroma when you walk into the store. A good selection covers rainbow cookies, lobster tails, cannoli and lemon drops.

My go to spot for pastries in NYC! The best of the best for eclairs and cannolis especially. You’ll have a hard time deciding but you can’t go wrong. When it’s nice out, you can get your order to go and enjoy in Washington Square Park. Staff was friendly and helpful. They had plenty of options even later in the day unlike some bakeries in the area.

I love this place so much. Coffee + cookies, a comfy place to sit and relax solo or with friends

I've been frequenting Roccos in the west village for a decade. Never let's me down. Either for a late pastry and coffee or a big breakfast/ panini. It's always solid and reliable. The people who patron this place are pure class and laid back. The staff and managers always give top notch service. Lobster tails, cannolis, and paninis always hit the spot. Perfect score

Found this place waiting on our pizza to be ready at John’s. Appeared to be a lot of locals so that had to be a good sign. The chocolate chips cannolis were great. Everything looked great, don’t know what half of it was but it looked great.

Wow how lovely hot chocolate top class would recommend the massive cookies lovely place and friendly well worth a visit

Love Roccos..Been coming here for at least 20 years. The staff here are the best. Absolutely. Friendly, funny, like you live in the neighborhood type of people. They remember what you like. I can't even tell you my favorite dessert because everytime I come here, I want something else, and its always delish. Even the plain crumb cake is yummy. I wish them another 20 years of good luck and good business.

Worst service ever!! I just had a server yell at me and tell to leave at 1130. The place closes at 12. Please do not visit this establishment until they train their Servers to considerate to their customers. I am a local am telling all my fiends to stop going here!!

Love this pastry shop in New York. Best Italian pastries I have ever had. The young guy who helped us was very sweet and helpful. Thank you. A+

My favorite place to go for dessert! Love the pignolia cookies but everything is delicious here!
Lisa Duzant Forlenza
Pastry delicious. Place is old school Italian. Service was on the slow side but that’s because it was so busy. They should hire more help to manage the crowd.
Nick Jacks
I would recommend the cheesecake it was wonderful so many things to choose fantastic display
Tony Mathias
Loyal customer for 25 years; best cannolis in NYC (always fresh and never pre-filled) and lemon ices. A no brainer when visiting NYC
Diane Butler
Really moist mixed fruit cheesecake... great cappuccino too... the place was packed!
John Whitley-Gibson
Folks, for generations this place is the real thing. Great service, huge selection and the best Italian pastries this side of the Atlantic. Please stay forever Rocco's!

I have been coming to Rocco’s since I was a kid and every time I travel to New York I always stop by. They have some of the best pastries and coffee.

When I am in NYC...this a must stop by place...excellent...I would even make a special trip just to go there...I live in Trenton, NJ.
Gerard DeBernardis
Best pastry shop in NYC. Have been going here since I was a little kid...best there is

Love this place. Always have. Always will. Wax there again yesterday. Brought several little boxes home and will be enjoying the treats inside all week. Thanks again to the staff behind the counter who are always on the front lines but are always there to help!!
Susan Levine
Just awesome. Best pastries. Best selection. Coffee best in NYC. Wonderful place. NYC icon. Highly recommended.
Maribell Wiscovitch
I LOVE this place...though yesterday disappointed they did not have my favorite cake and it was my birthday ... it's never too late to eat cake though so I will be making a second attempt at that chocolate/raspberry delight!

My friend and I came here while visiting NYC. We initially went to Rocco's with a Greenwich Village food tour group. We were so impressed with the cannoli that we decided to drop in for desert following a meal at a Village restaurant. When you walk in the door a rapturous aroma fills your senses and you know you've arrived at a delicious pastry shop. We ordered the tiramisu and couldn't believe how incredibly tasty it was. We've had it In Italy as well and this was hands down the best we've ever tried. Amazing!
Simone
This was our final stop on the Famous Fat Fave food tour. We ordered the cream filled cannoli, one with pistachio- one with choc chips. The sizing is perfect for a quick sweet end or treat. Very fresh, very tasty! Awesome neighborhood to wander around especially Bleeker street. Get your sweet treat and go enjoy it in the park
J.P.
Amazing selection and exceptional desserts. Definitely worth a trip to enjoy both the treats and atmosphere. Put this on your list of destinations.

Perfect if you are fed up of chains and want the real thing. Don't get fussed about calories and just indulge yourself. Love the black and white canoli though a large one is too much for one person! Reasonable prices too
Pasticceria Rocco is located on the famous and amazing Bleecker Street.
We ate two different kind of tiramisu and they were not very tasty, not like real Italian unfortunately but cream puffs were just good. Really really good. I f we had time we'd like to eat more.
The service was a little slow but friendly. Maybe one time is not enough and it's necessary to go again to understand its real value.
The Back Row Diner
Perfect find for our late evening indulgences. My wife had the éclair and I had a chocolate-dipped marzipan crescent cookie. With it we ordered an Americano and walked around the The Village enjoying a beautiful evening in New York.
The Regular Guy NYC
An Italian bakery open until midnight is pure bliss when needing a quick sugar rush to get you through on your way home from a night out drinking!

Cannoli's, Annisette Toast, Sesame Cookies, Gelato, Biscotti, oh my my my! This is a true old school family run bakery that used to be called Rocco's until the owner himself decided to retire in 2010 and now his children run the business. It's been under their ownership since 1974. I have been here many times over the years and always drop by when in this part of town for a snack and cappuccino. Sometimes just to grab a box of treats to go with the morning coffee.

Large glass counter service area to view the delicious goodies to take out, and a small seating area to the back with table service. Annisette Toast and Cannoli's sure helped soak up many alcohol driven nights, that's for sure! I hope places like this last forever as there are too few of them nowadays.

Open until midnight Sunday - Thursday, until 1AM on Friday, and 1:30 AM on Saturday. Great hours and unheard of for sure as most close well before midnight. It's just reassuring to know it's always there and open late.

This is one of 2 reviews. This is for their Cannolis. Oh, God. The cannolis, just like my mom made for the holidays. They are the cannolis I was hoping to get at Mike's in the North End in Boston (which are still very good). But it helped that they didn't look at me like an alien when I said I wanted it with pastaschio (like I thought all cannolis were made.) Mike's apparently hasn't heard of this. The crunch of the shell, the sweet ricotta filling, the pastachio nuts. OMG. Go! Go eat a cannoli for me, then have another. Bring extra insulin if you must.

***update*** OK, I thought I could post separate reviews for a restaurant on Yelp, but I guess I can't (or i don't know how.) So the other review I was going to do was for our experience having breakfast there on a separate morning. For that experience I'd give it a 2/5 which I feel bad about. It just doesn't seem like they're set up to serve the egg/potato/croissant meals they have listed on their menu. It feels like they added on a 'traditional American style breakfast menu' to capture morning business, but it's not their strength. The eggs and potatoes were cold, and the croissant was singed. It serves me right, don't go to a pastry place expecting them to impress with their scrambled eggs. But DO go for their pastries!

Great!. Wow. So glad a local recommended this place. Great quality and reasonable prices. Will definitely go back every time I am in NYC?

Has a great old school italian pastry shop. Not quite sure what pastry I bought but its delicious! It has a vanilla sponge cake then a layer of chocolate chip canoli cream and a layer of frosting. YUM. The only downside is how busy the place is.

Rocco's, You Have Ruined Me for All Others. If you're looking for a good Cannoli, don't go to this spot. If you're looking for an absolutely mind blowing Italian pastry experience, Rocco's is your place. When I'm in NYC, I will not miss an opportunity to indulge.
AggieInAustin
I Miss Rocco's!!!. I love this place! Best cannollis ever...I would fly back to NYC right this second for one of their frickin' cannollis! :)
Missylee
I was disappointed. The pastries and cakes weren't fresh, very average, too sweet. The coffee wasn't good either. The only good thing is that it's open late and there's plenty of room to sit with friends.
Doug
Rocco Pastry Shop. Great Cannolis, to keep fresh and crisp, the shells are filled only when ordering. Large place with an endless amount of options, plenty of seating inside or out.
M4Nco
This was a true bakery and if everything was as good as their cheesecake, we understand why this place was busy. It was a Sunday night but you wouldn’t have been able to tell. Pasticceria Rocco will be on our list of stops next time we are in New York City as these cheesecake made our day and our trip to New York City. Simple old fashion cheesecake and it was done right. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and helped with our order, making the process smooth. The only thing we didn’t understand was why offer a takeout Menu but not have the utensils to help them enjoy your food. That would have been our only suggestion for improvement, other than that we hope they do not change anything else. Just writing about the cheesecake causes mouth-watering!
I Just Want To Eat
I guess this past week end was a cookie discovery, in the sense that we got to try some cookies for snacks. The first joint we went to is City Bakery; not that we went there for their cookies, but more for their hot chocolate. The second one, is Rocco's on Bleecker street. City Bakery is supposedly known for their hot chocolate and I read recently an article ranking it best hot chocolate in the US. It said: "Made from pure melted chocolate bars and topped with homemade marshmallows, this thick hot chocolate is F&W editor in chief Dana Cowin's favorite version in the country". So, here we are at City Bakery: the place is packed! We can see lots of people with a cup of hot chocolate, food and cookies. As we ordered, we could not miss the chocolate room behind us...Promising! As well as the rack full of freshly made cookies in front of us! That was so tempting that we decided to get a chocolate chip cookie! It was a nice size and you could definitely see that there was a lot of chocolate
NYC Style And A Little Cannoli
Pasticceria Rocco is one of the true places you need to break your diet. Located on the famous Bleecker Street, in the amazing West Village, your eyes will be smiling a happy tune! This window display is mind blowing, if you ask me. They also have panini's for lunch or a light dinner (great to share) and then have a little dessert. Pineapple Upside Down Cake ready to be taken to a good home. Baba Rum is a cake soaked in rum with either cannoli or cream filling. It makes life better. These cakes are insane. I myself am not a fan of these, but love to photograph them for their beauty and color. I do not think you can have a bad item here. It is not possible.
