I do not understand some of the bad reviews rhat rhis place has received. This place was close to our hotel in the theater district. We had breakfast there several times during our NYC stay. Service was quite good and so was the food.
Saw quite a lot of negative feedback on four square! However I'm unsure what these people were expecting for a diner!
The service and food was just what I expected from a NY diner! Service was quick and friendly and food was decent and a large serving!
Not too keen on places that auto-grat but I can understand based on its location but perhaps a friendly reminder card with the bill to recommend tipping!
Extensive menu and large selection of cakes.
Mediocre food/great service. Ask for Tony! He is a very kind and attentive older gentleman that will take good care of you. Food came quickly and hot. French Onion soup lacked depth of flavor and the Italian dishes were beyond bland. We will go again since the service is so good. Perhaps next time we will check out the breakfast options.
OK for a diner. Food was decent. Service a little rushed.
A place to go for breakfast. We very much enjoyed the service and the food. The food came out quickly and the service was delightful. I'd be a repeat customer.
Good and Filling. Applejack became my favorite breakfast site while in New York. The atmosphere is that of a good old time diner and the food is very good and filling. The food is not pricey and you get a good portion. I really liked the 2 eggs scrambled and cornbeef hash.
Good Choice. The food was good but the service was great! Had a wonderful breakfast. Highly recommend.
Great Breakfast!. French toast is great, and the sausage is AMAZING! Possibly the best sausage I have eaten!
Great food here! I was actually surprised. Big portions! My only complaint is that it is pretty pricey! Dishes go from $18 to $30 on average. The space is tight as well. Very narrow walking areas. Huge menu of course. Great diner feel. The staff here are all very friendly!
A wonderful American diner which gives you the real vibe of a classic American breakfast. You can find anything from the original maple syrup pancakes to eggs with bacon and sausages. We had a wonderful time eating there with my husband and we suggest it 100%!
My husband and I loved this place. Amazing food & service. Everything is top notch and they don’t kick you out even though they are super busy, unlike Time Square Diner. We’ll definitely keep going back to Applejack Diner. Thank you and happy holidays.
This place rules. Got us a table in 10 minutes despite the restaurant being packed and there being a line, service was quick and food came out fast. Hit this place for breakfast if your hotel is in the area
It’s everything you want and need in a Dinner. This is exactly what I wanted in NYC, giving me good 90s vibes, the old movie starts on the wall, the blue seats and neon lights. Applejacks got it right.
The service is excellent from the moment you walk in, friendly, nice and hold pleasant conversation.
The food was fresh, tasty, and HOT! They made it right then when I ordered and I could tell when I bit into it. Best Dinner Experience in NYC to date.
I really like the atmosphere of this place. We indulged in an early morning breakfast among rest of the diners. Service was great and food was ok although a bit pricy. Worth the experience! Highly recommended!
I was looking for a New York Diner experience, and this place didn’t disappoint! We were welcomed with a smile, the staff were friendly and the service was quick. I had chicken and waffles for the first time and it was definitely giving!!! I would really recommend
We tried several diners in Manhattan, even places with higher reviews. But honestly Applejacks is the best, from the friendly service, attentiveness and tasty food. Don’t believe the hype of other places, Applejacks is that NY diner experience.
This New York diner is one of the better diners around the Times Square area. The decor is traditional and the ambiance cosy and inviting. It seems to have been around for a long time so there is some history to this place with pictures of famous diners who frequented in the past. Definitely feel this is a place worth coming to if you want the experience of a traditional New York diner breakfast.
We stopped here for breakfast yesterday. The service was good. Greeted at the door and seated promptly. My wife had French toast with eggs and sausage which she said was good. I had the chicken and waffles which was fine. I would recommend this place based on our experience.
