Review Le Pain Quotidien - New York City

Regina Fugat
The communal table experience. Had the mashed avo on sourdough toast, a fresh fruit salad and an Iced cappuccino. The food is very good. At first I had to summon a waiter to take my order, however, after year service was good.

Artful, appetizing, delicious, and healthy! Trying multiple menu items felt like one surprise after another with a melange of flavors and textures. I was told we were going to 'bakery' for lunch, and the place blew my mind with their options - salads, quiche, avacado toast, sandwich, waffles - all arrived quickly. Grabbed a quinoa scone on my way out, and that was good, too.

Good coffee shop, delicious coffee. You can feel the atmosphere and aroma of France.

I always enjoy Le Pain Quotidien. Whether it be for breakfast, lunch or light dinner. With a nice variety on the menu everything is always fresh and tasty. Just a coffee and a croissant anybody They have a wonderful assortment of pastries and bread to go. Plenty of seating, clean bathrooms and I find the staff to always be pleasant.

Good European style breakfast place close to the Central Park. Coffee was excellent. Wide choice of desserts. I ordered eggs with feta cheese and avocado. It was good. Maybe slightly pricey due to popular location. Recommended.

Great lunch after spending the day at the MET. I recommend. Service was fast and food was great. We had a Cobb salad and grain bowl.

The employees were polite and accommodating. The food tasted fresh but slightly lacking in flavor/seasoning.

Nothing but good things to say about this quaint place. Great service with a smile, delicious food and coffee.

The chai latte was amazing. The food here is great but I wish there were more locations in other cities. I also tried and loved the smoked salmon tartine, mixed berry tart, and apricot tart.

Dessert wise I’m beyond satisfied. Splendid berry tart and the staff were friendly. Quite a cosy place with wooden furniture. Skip the Starbucks come here instead.

Absolutely amazing! The quiches were perfect and the hot chocolate was super rich and chocolatey. Be sure to grab some bread!

If you’re from Europe and miss your moms food, come here. Food is great. Atmosphere amazing. Coffee could be a bit better, but overall worth to stop by. We got chicken and tomato soup. Very nice

We had a late lunch here. Our server was friendly, polite, and attentive. The mushroom & Gruyère quiche was very tasty. Mushrooms had a nice deep flavor. Finished up with a French cream doughnut and mini brownie that was delicious

Great place for lunch! Doesn’t feel like a chain! This upper east side location is really charming, with community/family-style tables and plenty of small tables. Even at peek times I’ve always gotten a small table. The ambience is busy and it’s got a nice balance of activity along with the capacity to hear what your companion is saying. Service is always fine. You can take your time without feeling rushed here. I’m a fan of the menu here, particularly a nice selection of gluten free items. I always feel full and healthier when I leave here. Again, it’s the combination of being familiar yet unique at the same time. Big recommend.

I like Le Pain! My absolute favorite - quiches Lorraine and Mushroom. Busy location near the Met museum.

Each fall Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center holds court. This year Alan Dershowitz prosecutor was pitted against Joe Lieberman, the defense, in People vs Noah. Was Noah guilty of crimes against humanity as he did not warn the others about the flood? At least that’s what Dershowitz argued. We — the jury of about 200o people who attended — found Noah not guilty, especially after the judge — Honorable Michael Mukasey, former Attorney General of the United States — gave us instructions how to interpret the law.

Nice location, good and healthy food, delicious sandwiches. Love it!!. Self service but it is ok. Free WiFi and the sandwiches with cips are my favorite. It’s is not that much cheap, it’s normal ! 🙋‍♀️

For a chain, this place does a remarkable job of making you feel like you are enjoying a nice meal instead of just grabbing some fast food. The open faced sandwiches and light and refreshing. My daughter found her waffle delicious. The portions can be a little on the small side - we tend to eat just two meals a day when traveling - but otherwise, a great choice for a quick, casual meal.

One of the best breakfasts i have had in a while. This place was filled with people and liveliness. Food looks super fresh. It can get a bit late as the place is super busy. There coffee is really good as well.

Went here for a weekday lunch and I would recommend returning at a less busy time if you want a more intimate feel. The tables are close together if it's 2 people or less, however the booths are more private. The avocado toast with egg and the Belgian hot chocolate were great.

I came to New York with friends and after a long day of walking around the city, super tired and hungry, and fed up with all the fast food, we wanted to eat some "real food" and have something more healthy. A friend of mine, Patricia, told me once that I should give a try to Le Pain Quotidien, and that's what we did.
I absolutely loved everything, our salads were so good and with a lot of flavor, the cider that we ordered was great to!! I wish we had Le Pain Quotidien in Portugal though!

We came here to have breakfast before a long day at the museum in New York City, but we left with lower expectations than the expectations we came with. I ordered a café latte, hoping it would come with the oh-so-famous, picture-perfect latte art. Instead, I’d assume we saw a failed attempt of drawing a wounded heart with an arrow on the latte. It was cute and the effort was appreciated but it would have been better off without the art if the place did not master the art yet. The waffles were tasty, but there was nothing extra special there; we got the waffle only with the jam served on the side as shown in the picture. We could see jars of jam on the tables around us but our waitress did not serve us any jam until we asked for extra berry jam and yet they served us apricot jam instead. The bread was good, but it wasn’t the best out there. Our favorite kind was the one with raisins. Note that I am not a huge fan of raisins and bread together, but I loved it. This bakery has the potential of being one of those great places in Manhattan to go to, relax and satisfy one's taste buds, but we believe more effort has to be put in the details, ranging from the service to making every plate outstanding.

Bought some pastries for a bite before a walk through central park.

The cheese almond danish was quite extraordinary; clean rich and not too sweet. Apple turnover was good and appetizing.

Big choc cookie (size of face) was a bit of a downer; hard, too sweet and strong for my taste (rather than a smooth subtle milky sweetness) - the taste on the whole just simple and basic.

Priced 3-4$ each.

Three Yums.

The UES location is situated perfectly on a busy corner and near a subway station. Once you enter, you notice that the decor is cute and classy and the staff are quick and polite. AC was broken the day I went so that was unfortunate as it was 91 degrees out. However, food was remarkably delicious. Expect to pay about $11-$16 per dish but it is worth it as you get a good portion and certainly will be satisfied eating just half. I ordered the popular Chicken and Fresh Mozzarella dish which was perfect.

Very good food & pastries. The waitress was very nice

Best managed restaurant in NY. We live in the neighborhood and have gone to the restaurant several times. Wonderful service all the time and everyone including the manager work as a team and could not be better! Jose is great and even suggests items to buy to take home. Do you have a management training program at the company? If so, let me know how you get such great results-I am involved in a non-profiit performing arts institution in nyc and we could use some help in improving our box office and usher personnel.

Good food, but a little pricy! The waffle I had was one of the best I've ever had though, so it's definitely worth it!

A great place to start your day.. The service is excellent and the food even better!

Perfect place to relax and grab a bite. The atmosphere here is wonderful, so calming and peaceful and you never feel rushed. The food is delicious, I can't get enough of their jams and organic hazelnut chocolate creme which fits so perfectly on their soft croissants. The hot chocolate was wonderful one glass milk one glass melted chocolate, you combine them. The tartines were great- the roasted turkey was light and well flavored, and the black bean hummus was a delightful combination of texture and flavor. The organic tofu salad was delicious but I could have used more of the dressings, which were great. Last but not least the mini chocolate mousse cake was fantastic with a touch of hazelnut cream.
I Just Want To Eat
Le Pain Quotidien uses organic ingredients as much as possible and bakes bread and pastries every day. Their bread is delicious: they serve different kinds, from the baguette to the rustic loaf. They also have buttery and flaky croissants that are to die for! Their restaurants have a rustic and homy feel with bricks on the walls, wooden floors and wooden tables that have an unfinished look (they are made of reclaimed wood). They all have a large communal table for those who like to listen to people's conversation...
