Review H&h Bagels - New York City

Elizabeth Glessner
I’ve tried bagels at several laces in the city, and H&H is my favorite. The bagels are great, not too thick or bready, and have just the right amount of cream cheese and toppings. We went on a Sunday morning and had no wait.

I got a whole wheat everything bagel with tuna salad. It was fine. Nothing special but the bagel was fresh and crispy with lots of seeds, which was good. There are three little tables inside so you might not always be able to get a seat there.

I have ordered from here many times via Grub hub. The food is always amazing. The strawberry cream cheese has real strawberry bits in it and is absolutely delicious. I also really love their asiago bagels. 10/10 would recommend

Good SEC bagel sandwich. They use sweet Italian sausage cuts which provide a great flavor. If you get a bagel with cream cheese, they slather a huge dollop of cream cheese in it. Decent coffee as well. I see why H&H is a popular neighborhood joint.

There are many bagel stores in Manhattan but there’s only one H & H Bagels. Its worth a visit to shop for a Sunday Brunch or just if you want a nosh. I can honestly say, they have the best bagels in New York City.

2 of us split a BEC everything bagel and a lox everything bagel. Seemed about standard NYC quality. Also split a black and white cookie, which seemed average, and a chocolate babka, which tasted/felt more moist than it looked and had a liquor or mollases quality that was interesting.

Good tasting bagels, had the nox everything bagel and it was just nice. The iced coffee is a great choice too. PS: The lox is the saltier version of the lox.

The line was out the door when I arrived and I waited maybe 15-20 minutes until my order was taken. H&H has a larger assortment of bagels, cream cheeses, and drinks. I tried both a bagel with eggs and a bagel with veggie cream cheese. These bagels were both fairly tasty. One area of improvement could be their method of taking orders. Perhaps they should have an employee walk down the line and take orders so that way they could have them ready when the customer arrives at the counter. I have seen this done before and it does work very well. Hope these comments and suggestions help!

What more do you want from a bagel shop other than a great array of bagels, seamlessly filled with gorgeous cream cheese and smoked salmon. Line went quick, iced coffee was a good way to start a hot day.

I love this place. Lol, got lost the first time looking for it cause of limited signing. Very good sandwiches especially their sausage egg and cheese (best damn sausage tastes like fennel in the seasoning) I say go early (opening-9 am) for the freshest stuff and they run out, fr. The counter people are pretty nice and sweet everytime I pop in. Coffee is meh and pastries are ok-ish. Anything bread or bagels are on point. Every spot on UES has their niche they do well and they do breakfast well.

Ford would be proud of the production line this place has a crankin’. Smashing bagels at H & H, guaranteed. You can choose from many different types of bagels, spreads, toppings, and they are all fantastic! The layer of cream cheese is too thick for my liking but it’s a really small issue. Grab the bagels to go, as the joint is packed with people and has limited seating.

Just about everything that you want around Bagels can be found here. Peanut butter and jelly is a must try. You can stop for a quick, grand and go bagel as the seating is limited and not convenient

Salmon and cream cheese bagel is amazing. Well worth a subway ride. This place isnt the best for a sit-down experience, but there are a few tables and chairs, and the quality of the bagels makes me feel alright about the lack of ambience

The obvious questions on anyone's mind are: A) Is this the real H&H Bagel and B) Is it any good? The answers are: yes, legally speaking, and no, they are not good... they're freakin' awesome!!!!! I can safely declare that the bagel crown has returned to the Upper West Side.

These bagels have that perfect balance of salt and sweet. You can taste both, but they are not overpowering. They are there to give the bagel flavor and character. And if I weren't a traditionalist who eats his bagel uncut, untoasted, and unadorned, I can imagine how well those flavors would mesh with melted butter or whipped cream cheese.

The outside of the bagel has a perfect shell; not too hard, not too soft... just the right amount of give-back if you push on it.

And the inside is as soft and slightly chewy as you would hope.

I bought a baker's dozen of plain bagels and froze what I didn't use. They held up nicely to the defrost function of my microwave.

I can't believe I'm going to write this, for fear of causing a morning backup on the scale of Pick A Bagel, but if you live slightly out of town or a short subway ride away, it's well worth the trip.

Go, go, go, and taste the return of bagel greatness.

- F. fresh bagels and many different cream cheese flavours to suit your taste! Had the scallion cream cheese and Nova Scotia salmon on wholewheat bagel - thoroughly recommend.

Wasn't too impressed as my expectations were set high. The specials close at 2pm so I couldn't order what I wanted. However the Salmon Plain Bagel with cream cheese was pleasant. The bagel was sweet, soft and warm. It was the best part of the snack. The other two were pretty straight forward and plain.

Best of the few authentic bagels left in NYC!. Their bagel with lox all the way is simply incredible. First they toast the bagel which is not available in a lot of places then they apply a schmear of cream cheese , red onion, 3-4 slices of tomato, and capers. The sandwich is bursting with flavor with the freshest lox and it is big enough to be lunch.
The toasted skin of the bagel is tough while the soft inside is full of flavor. The sweet onion the sharp capers and the mellow cream cheese form the perfect union.
Don't let the unassuming demeanor of the counter staff fool you. They know who comes in and they know who comes back.
Note to cheap aggressive upper east side entitled Richie- Riches keep waiting in line as a matter of fact a long line the staff remembers how annoying you are and will make you wait. I on the other hand being a frequent customer that tips will walk right past you to the counter wave my hand and they know my order. No lines for me!

Long line? Don't worry. These guys know what they're doing.
