Review Tartinery - New York City

This is becoming one of my favorite places downtown Manhattan. They have excellent happy hour from 5pm to 7pm, the food is top notch as are the desserts. Service is also excellent love both Veronica and Thomas, both are great at their jobs.

Very pleasant bar with great staff. Wide selections of wine. They serve weekend brunch. Also have various lunch items and sides to choose from. Overall food is tasty and there are two seating rooms (one more nostalgic rock and another more chic and black)

Perfect place for a brunch ! We got a roast beef tartine, a poached egg with salmon tartine, 2 rosinis and 2 belinis and a cheesecake! Everything was so delicious we just wanted more! Maybe the alcohol made us eat more but it was so worth it. A bit expensive but amazing. Perfect for a couple on Sunday :) Plus the atmosphere is great and the waiters are really nice.

Very Nice dinner with friends during our trip in NYC. Simple and fresh ingredients, very weel cooked. Excellent customer service. To sum up a very nice French touch 😊😋🇫🇷

We initially came into the Nolita location on a Gilt City deal, and enjoyed the food so much that we purchased another Gilt City deal and came back! The tartines are open-faced sandwiches, and they are piled high. You’ll need silverware (or a non-judgmental date) to eat them. There are a bunch of two-person tables by the bar, and more seating downstairs. Try the Croque Madame and absolutely anything with avocado as a leading ingredient. Wine is 2-for-1 during happy hour, which I think runs from 5-7 daily, and is well worth it. We are coming back soon with a larger group, and can’t wait!

Great pizza and a hot spot at night with celebrity sightings being reported (not by me though).

Yummm! This place is fantastic! Tried it using a Gilt City voucher, and have been going back ever since.

Had a dinner there, the place was lovely the food fine and the team very nice. We tasted one of their new wine , a saint estephe it was a big surprise. Difficult to choose we finally took the pear and blue cheese on the advices of the GM (nice moustache) it was awesome! lot of flavors! My fiancé took a couple because one wasn't enough for him (but he is big)

Service was good, waitress was friendly but it seemed like they were a little short staffed. Our water glasses were never replenished until asked. Food was good and delicious, I found the croque monsieur to be a bit more on the salty side. Otherwise, the smoke salmon tartine and burger were enjoyable. Prices were more towards the three $$$ than the two $$.

We went as a party of 10 and there was a hiccup in the kitchen. However when we notified the staff, the service was just stellar. They did an excellent job of ensuring our group night out was pleasant. The food was also stellar! Highly recommend to pay a visit and will go again.

Houlala a little piece of France in NY. Great ambience and charming staff - would love to come back and try some of their great wine list

Although it doesn't sound it, the word tartine can often be quite foreign and confusing for Americans. However, it is simply yet another example of a single French word that encompasses several American ones. While my all time favorite word like this is "

Abysmal service, mediocre food. Came here for lunch on January 1, the place was quite full and it took them 10 minutes to take my order (and I was sitting at the bar!) - alright, I can live with that. What put me off is the fact that they forgot to ask about drinks and I had to wait another 10 to order a coffee. In the meanwhile one of the waiters inadvertently kicked my chair a few of times while running around - no apologies. And the same waiter then complained that I didn't left much tips. What for, seriously?

What made the situation worse is the waiter then deliberately started to ignore a friend of mine, who just came in and asked for a cup of tea takeaway.

Not a great way to start new year, not going back.

Well-executed, antiseptic. I had a nice velouté of pea soup with mint followed by a salad with frisée and artichokes. The artichokes were pleasing to look at but of the marinated variety, it turned out. Homemade would have been preferable, as would Parmiggiano-Reggiano cheese (the salad seemed to contain Grana Pardano). Dressing was fine, based on the ubiquitous balsamic vinegar. Service was good and the place is visually appealing, but it lacks soul.

Great atmosphere but I had the Niçoise salad and the quality was very poor. Made with canned tuna and overcooked beans. Do not get the salad!

Great lively bar area. Fantastic food! Try the File au Poivre - vow!!! If that wasn't perfect I don't know what to look for.

Croque Monsieur. Topped with ham, Gruyere cheese & bechamel, the tartine was flavorful without being too heavy. The salad dressing went well with the dish.

We stumbled into this as well while searching for something French. The food was just north or average. The service was very good. The setting was trendy mix or wire mesh and exposed brick. The bill was for cocktail + coffee + soup + entree include tip & tax was $47 PP. If you are on a budget, read the menu carefully!

Well, we stumbled onto this place while walking to Mulberry Street, took one look at the menu and went in. They have just recently opened and I like the concept. A Tartine is a French open Sandwhich but not really. We started with the Foie Gras Tartine. Each one comes with a very nice salad. The foie gras is made in house and I have to say was well done. we also ordered some of their fresh juice selectins made right there at the bar. Fresh and delicious. The second tartine we ordered was the rillette. Also a great selection. This was a great atmosphere and the service was also exceptional. I would suggest for couples and small groups that desire to share.
I Just Want To Eat
We were looking for a place to get some brunch with our friends Jen and Gary and ended up at Tartinery in Nolita. I was expecting a small bistro, but when we arrived, we discovered a fairly modern place that seems to cater to a younger crowd rather than families. Although, there is a bit of nostalgia as can attest the black and white photos on the walls (Jimi Hendrix, Serge Gainsbourg, a popular and scandalous French singer on top of his career between 1970 to 1991 when he passed away - check his interaction with Whitney Houston on Youtube...). There are two main sections: upstairs, next to the bar, where couple of tables are lined up. And downstairs, a more spectacular room with huge ceilings and wine bottles sitting in enclosures several feet from the floor, only accessible using the iron ladder. The restaurant describes itself as a contemporary bistro: I would agree, although it can give the impression of dining in a dungeon! Well, as you probably know, restaurants assign a number t

The space has a sweet window side cafe at street level and then drops down into a fabulous sunken dining room space, complete with a large tree in the center of the room. The light streams in from outside through large floor to ceiling windows and drum-like lamps hang over the tables.

The interior is a cold, stone gray with warm, wood accents and the occasional tree. There's a relaxed chicness to the restaurant that was very inviting and pleasant. Indeed, there are a precious few restaurants in which I might choose to eat alone without fear of appearing like that guy you feel sad for with the book at his table.

The chicken was so dry we almost choked on it but the fennel was light and spritzed with a little lemon juice and olive oil.

What drew us into Tartinery was the sleek and modern architecture that was visible from the street - metal grid over exposed brick, open stairway and glimpses of a tall tree growing in the middle of a high-ceiling dining room.
The Restaurant Fairy
Tartinery in Nolita is a super cool, hipster version of a French bistro cum wine bar. The space is stunning! The modern industrial-chic décor is just gorgeous with airy spaces and entire walls of slate on which the menu is handwritten. Even the restrooms have containers of chalk with which you can write messages on the walls.
This re-imagining of the French bistro was offering open-faced Croque Monsieurs & discounts on Stella Artois, so we both got one of each. Topped with ham, Gruyere cheese & bechamel, the tartine was flavorful without being too heavy.
