Review Il Corallo Trattoria - New York City

This is my all time favorite restaurant. The people are wonderful and the food never disappoints. I have been coming here for years and I am still greeted with the same smile and warmth since prior to the pandemic. I HIGHLY suggest you try the mushroom ravioli and their seafood pastas. My partner also highly enjoyed their chicken Parmesan as they do not skimp out on the chicken. Their sangria is to die for and they have reasonable prices. I also deeply love their lemon sorbet. I also recommend coming for lunch as their deals are very good.

We had a nice dinner here. It is a cozy neighbourhood place for Italian food. It was not fancy or unheard of but the food and service were good and prices reasonable. I would be happy to return here should I lived nearby.

Great Italian food with great service. Also relatively cheap when you come during lunch, as the food will come with a soup or salad of your choosing. The casual atmosphere and friendly staffs combined with a good meal make this a solid choice if you want to grab a quick lunch in Soho.

Love this Italian restaurant nestled in heart of SoHo. Small but cozy and charming. Food is really great quality and price is reasonable. My husband enjoyed Osso Bucco with saffron risotto. With tomatoes and wine reduction, it had amazing flavor! I loved Taglierini Sorrento: squid ink pasta was perfectly cooked and shrimp with crab meat, clams had so much flavor. White wine and garlic sauce with seafood were great combination. I will definitely come back soon!

Upon arriving, the hostess was very friendly and was able to move our reservation with no problem; the food we got was unbelievably delicious and something my girlfriend and I have never had before. Whenever we’re back in the area, we will be back!

The food is spectacular, we have visited several times. The taste of the food very consistent on all occasions. I think that what stands out the most is the seafood pasta and the pizza. The house tiramisu dessert is delicious. They have always treated us very well every time we go, although it can improve in terms of handling customers. I recommend from the seafood pasta category the Fettucine Pescatore and the Taglierini Sorrento. If you're more into pizza, the Pizza D'Oro is made with lobster and scallops and it really is wow, I really liked the Napoletana and the 4 Formaggi (made with smoked mozzarella, Gorgonzola and goat cheese). 😅🤤 Well, try it for yourself. I hope they continue to be as consistent as ever in their restaurant. Thanks for the service, best wishes to the Il Corallo Trattoria family!

Seafood pasta is usually what we come here for, and it is a perfect place for casual dining and comfort food before the “second round” of the night. As an Italian restaurant, their price is unbelievably reasonable given how devious their dishes are: most pasta dishes are under $30, and appetizers WITH meat or seafood are under $15. The sauces for every dish are so fresh, flavorful, but not heavy at all, and we always wipe our plates with bread before letting the staff take them away. This time, we chose here for my husband’s birthday. And we had a great night at IL Corallo Trattoria, again! My friends all live either in Queens or uptown, and I work in midtown, but IL Corallo Trattoria is the reason why we go to lower Manhattan. I skipped seafood pasta and tried their veal shank this time - it was such a hard decision to make, but the veal dish was one of the best I have ever tasted. Not sure why they don’t advertise this, but they have a legit pizza oven, and all pizzas we ordered were beyond good. They are NOT “just a pasta place.” The restaurant is very very very popular on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, and since they are closed on Monday, from Tuesday to Thursday, even it’s not as busy, the restaurant is always full. So, for party of 5+, I’d say definitely make reservations several days ahead. They added semi-“outdoor” seating during COVID, so it is less hard to get a table without reservations. And the “outside” part was actually quite nice. The whole place is heated, with decorations, staff come check on the guests quite frequently. Overall, 5 stars!!!

Honestly, one of the best Italian restaurants in the city, if not the country. Their lunch menu is a great value. Bread is fresh, they have fresh mozzarella for the dishes, delicious pasta, great wine, and quick service! It was more than enough food and I cannot recommend the Vermentino white enough!

Amazing restaurant with super fast service and amazing staff. Our food came so quickly and it was delicious. I highly recommend coming here for a causal lunch or dinner.

We ordered the Pizza Rustica, Tortellini Parmigiano, and Fusilli Boscaiola from their lunch specials! The Pizza Rustica was a burst of flavors - the fresh mozzarella and tomato sauce complemented perfectly by the zucchini, eggplant, and mushrooms. The option to choose between a soup or a small green salad was a thoughtful touch that added to the overall dining experience. The Tortellini Parmigiano was heavenly. The tender tortellini filled with flavorful cheese, combined with a delectable Parmigiano sauce, left us craving for more. It was a true Italian comfort dish, and we savored every bite. Fusilli Boscaiola. The spiral pasta cooked to perfection, accompanied by the delightful combination of mushrooms and peas in a creamy tomato sauce, created an explosion of taste in every mouthful. The service was impeccable, and the staff made us feel warmly welcomed throughout our meal. The ambiance was cozy and perfect for a relaxing dining experience.

Food: There are few places in NYC where you will get perfectly sized portions of fresh, seafood pasta and pizza than here. For $25, you can get their pizza d’oro - absolutely LOADED with many different types of seafood. Or, you can get their fettuccine pescatore for $28 - equally as good. You also get complimentary bread, but it’s just alright. However, for the price point, this is easily the best pasta joint in Manhattan (and maybe even all of NYC) for me. Service: The dudes who work here are great. They give me like neighborhood uncle vibes. Super jolly, happy, and for the most part, attentive. Host upfront is great too! Not much to be said. Only gripe is that every time I come here, even with a reservation, I wait like 5-10 minutes. Small thing though. Atmosphere: The restaurants indoor dining area is pretty small and very cramped. Small tables that get quickly full with pastas and pizzas. Outdoor dining is great here, but wouldn’t recommend in the summer. Cute decoration and fancy lighting! Just a tad bit too small for my frame, and I’m not even that tall. Toodaloo!

This place is special for us! We have celebrated birthdays, valentines and a lot of great weekend lunches and dinner and we always had a special time. You really can’t go wrong with any pasta in their extensive menu. The elderflower spritz is delicately balanced. The tiramisu and tartufo are both amazing!

I highly recommend this place. Great for the lunch specials. Great atmosphere. Absolutely Great service. There is indoor and outdoor dining. A reservation is recommended. Check out the Lunch specials! Parking is limited, you'll have to find Parking on your own. Bathrooms are clean on the premises. Update June 2022: I recently visited this location again, and it's still my favorite restaurant to eat at on Prince Street. I just love the Tortellini Parmigiano, just delicious and the potato soup too. Update: October 2023, still my favorite restaurant.

I loved the food here! My friends and I didn't have a reservation but were able to walk in without a wait. I got the Taglierini Sorrento, which is squid ink pasta with lots of seafood (shrimp, scallops, clams, and crab meat). It was delicious! It was light and didn't feel greasy, and packed with flavor. I would recommend this place!

I ordered " It was tasty. I went on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the recommended food "Taglierini Sorrento" .It was so delicious. The pre-starter bread with balsamic vinegar+olive oil was also good.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating as we didn't have a reservation but they gave us (seven) a couple of tables for 1.5 hours. Visited back in March so don't remember names of dishes, but they were all tasty and full of flavorful sauces. Not sure the pic of board of specials is still valid, but enjoy other pics. All dolci were attacked before snapping pics.

The service was great, and the food was fantastic! The only issue is that the space was tight but overall good ambiance! I would recommend this place to others.
