They specialize in dumplings so I was expecting the dumpling treat of my life. They were edible but nothing to write home about. If you asked me, the dough was too heavy, too thick, and hard to digest. The fillings were acceptable.
They served water rather than tea which i thought was rather unusual.
The service however was outstading. The local was clean and welcoming. They are located in Korean Way also known as Korean Town.

One of the best dumpling places in NYC. Very under rated and incredibly delicious. The dough they make for the dumplings is different and unique. Friendly service and amazing cuisine. Love this place!

It's cramped. I'm not gonna lie. But the wait for us was only about 10 minutes. If you don't mind right quarters, this is a heart little Korean restaurant with yummy dumplings! They ask you what level of spice your prefer. The bowls come out hot, and because of the way they are served, they're for dining in only. We especially enjoyed the pork dumplings. They taste yummy and they look almost too adorable to eat. Would recommend this place if you have a small group.

Extremely attentive service! An excellent lunch spot. The dumplings are made on site and you can see them making them while you walk in. There are starter and entree size options for the dumplings. Mandoo Bar also offers a wide variety of bibimbap. The soup will warm your soul. If you are looking for alcohol a small selection is offered.
Inside little storage areas are under the seats.

BEST PORK DUMPLINGS & RAMEN
This place rocks. Their dumplings are amazing and the Korean ramen heals me every time. It gets busy for dinner so try to get their before the crowd hits because there’s not a lot of space to wait.

So I came to this place many years ago (opened in 1999). I remember back then it was one of the vanguard of Korean restaurants starting to break out of their insular immigrant shell to join the ranks of other ethnic foods that had become actual dining destinations. The only problem was that despite all the accolades, when I went, it didn't taste good. I don't remember what I ate then but I remember leaving sorely disappointed and distrustful of all those who hyped these ethnic finds despite what I thought was a culinary failure. Fast forward to today and we were in the neighborhood and desperate for a light meal to tide us over until a dinner later that night. It was a completely different story and now the lines that went out the door seemed to all make sense to me. Although they serve food other than the eponymous mandoo - but why bother eating anything else? We tried 3: the steamed kimchee mandoo, the pan fried mandoo, and the mool mandoo. The kimchee one had the nice brightness of the kimchee to contrast the taste of the filling. The mandoo wrapper was thick enough to withstand the steaming giving it a nice chewy bite. But I found the taste of the filling to be a bit bland. The pan fried mandoo filling was very flavorful and the crispy fried wrapper gave the mandoo a nice crunchy texture. Usually the fried mandoo is my hands-down favorite, but I have to say that the mool mandoo was even better. First, the filling was very similar to the tasty filling in the fried mandoo but second, the wrapper was a thicker variety. This let it survive the boiling in water and retain a nice chewy texture. We were all very happy with our choices and in some way, this place was redeemed in my mind. Service was efficient and quick. Definitely a great place for a light meal.

Korean mandoo bar. Fried mandoo & bibimbap are delicious. It gets very busy during lunch hours, but perfect around 7:00 PM for early dinner. Staff not always friendly, though.

At Mandoo Bar I ate the best dumpling so far. the place is small, the staff is super nice and dumplings are perfect.
if you like dumplings don't make the mistake of not going there.

Awesome dumplings. Very reasonable prices.
Also, very consistent over the 3+ years I've been going. They updated the interior of the restaurant not too long ago.

Mmm... nice bulgogi. Very tasty. I liked everything except for the Mandoo Ramen. It was literally instant ramen for $10. Avoid the ramen. Get anything else here and you'll be satisfied.

Great food, love the bulgolgi, ramen noodles, and the fresh handmade dumplings made in front of the store. Place is small and bit of a wait during lunch but worth it.
