Review New York Beer Company - New York City

Great spot for a pre or post show drink/meal. Bartender was great for our brunch visit. Large selection of beers. They do a 2 hr unlimited for $18 if you have the interest and time. Lots of locals and people who work in midtown (reason we knew about it). Plenty of bar seats and main table seating.

Name says it all.. For a sports themed bar, the food is pretty decent. I got the Apricot ale which was awesome, and the beer bbq chicken pizza and Manhattan clam chowder, which I couldn't finish because the portions were so big. The crowd, seems genuinely interested in watching the games playing, lending a constantly charged and exciting atmosphere to the space. lovely bar/restaurant, food is great, staff are great, friendly& helpful, just off Broadway, the atmosphere is electric, singing, show tunes, just great fun, food is wonderful, lots of beers to pick from, one of the finest and most sophisticated bars in new york

Beer is great. Great selection. As far as the burger goes... 10/10. Amazing flavor. Service is fast and friendly. A must go place if you're in NYC.

Enjoyed ourselves during the holiday season. They were able to take our large party and the wait staff was very nice. Food was decent and fast with a few minor mistakes. Would certainly visit again

We had dinner for 2 with nachos and an appetizer, 2 meals and 2 beers. The bill was under $70 without tip. The service was good. It was about 5pm on a Saturday and it wasn't crowded. The music is pretty loud so if you're looking for a nice quiet place, this probably isn't it. I enjoyed the atmosphere. We say by the windows which were open and it was nice. I included a picture of my border which was voted top 5 in New York to the menu.

We stopped in after a 2pm play for drinks and appetizers. They have a very good beer and cider selection (both tap and cans). We had the pretzel with cheese sauce and homemade mustard and pickle chips. Both were yummy!!!

One of my usual Theatre district happy hour/post work bars. Off the beaten path, and large enough that it’s fairly easy to get a table or seats at the bar. All the bar tenders I’ve had have been great. Food is generally your basic bar food, but all consistently good. I’m a big fan of the $6 Moscow mule during happy hour.

Been to the NYBC a few times over the years. This time we were back for a group party. We ended up staying a bit after the gathering and enjoyed some more drinks. We had the pleasure of meeting Dan, Brand Ambassador for NYBC! What a great guy. We had a wonderful, spirited conversation with him. We ended up staying much longer than anticipated and enjoyed a few more drinks. The following day, after doing a bunch of touristy things, we came back to NYBC for dinner. The food was tasty, and the drinks were cold. But, even better, we met up with Dan again! I think, we are going to be friends for life! The bar is large, with plenty of room to move around. They offer live music often, and lots of bar games too. There is a dining area toward the front and a long bar in the rear. High top communal tables line the bar area. Some tasty local beers are available.

Great bartenders and friendly locals! Stayed in the hotel across the street and spent my last night in New York there! Awesome ipa on tap!

Place was nice with wide range of beer selection and decent food. We hosted a B’day party of 20+ people. Our friends liked the place instantly for the atmosphere and live music . Specially the music team performed a b’day song for us, which we enjoyed. Well food menu covers mostly bar food , from nachos to Pizza. Overall it’s a good place to hangout with bunch of friends on a weekday evening over a couple of drinks 🍸.

Located in the middle of Manhattan, this place is a "must go". They have very beautyful nachos, other nice food, a variaty of nice beers and I find it a relaxed place to have a casual dinner, or also just a cupple of beers. Not cheap and sitting close to the entrance in winter can be uncomfortable because of the cold air.. But still a good spot for food and drinks!

Awesome staff & great place to watch some sport and have a drink. Also the chicken wings were some of the best we've had.

Great restaurant with good food, tons of local beer selection and nice staff!

I always have a good time here. It's a large enough space to accommodate groups and has a great beer selection.

Minimally themed stock exchange bar. Nice layout, good drinks selection and happy hour. Decent food and service. Interesting self service beer at the table

I've been coming here for years. This bar has up until this point always been welcoming, friendly, a great centrally located place with good food and always an available table. Good food, friendly staff. As some who works in theatre, it was a great late night bar to grab a drink with friends after a rehearsal or show. I run a theatre company and have held and attended countless cast parties here. However after last night I will never be returning again. My boyfriend and I decided to grab a drink/ food after we both finished up work/ rehearsal late. I arrived at the bar about 30 minutes before he did. The place was dead empty with only a few folks at the bar and maybe three tables filled. I ordered an app and a drink, while I waited. There are large windows and I noticed my boyfriend being stopped by the bouncer in the window. At first I thought maybe he couldn't find his id because it was taking so long for him to come inside. After a couple of minutes I realized something else was going on. I walked over to the door and at that point the bouncer said "oh that's your girlfriend you can go in. " my bf who had been hassled by the bouncer ( I'll admit not the best response) responded with a go fuck yourself. At that point the bouncer was like "that's it man you're out of here". And refused my boyfriend entry to the bar. So apparently there is now a dress code at this bar. My boyfriend had on a t-shirt ( no holes), jeans, and air jordans. He has has long curly hair and a thick beard. The holes in his jeans were there when he bought them, so it is not as if anything was exposed or inappropriate. The bouncer was refusing to let him in initially because he "looked like a construction worker". I find this response super disappointing after so many years of coming to this bar, that the would forget who is their population. Their population is artists, theatre community, people who dress in all different ways coming from all different types of work. If a person was a consecution worker are they not welcome? The waitress was kind and shocked. The manager seemed pretty non plussed and was like you can't say fuck you to the bouncer. Which fair, but this whole mess about the dress code is baffling and his response about "we have to enforce the dress code across the board" makes me think this place is the pits. I will never step foot in there again. NYC beer company if you're going to be snobby you're about to lose a large base of your people. It may also be noted the dress code wasn't posted anywhere visibly. We went down the block to Mercury bar ( which had a good crowd of folks and the bouncer there had nothing to say about our clothes) had a great rest of the night. Sorry NY beer co you have lost my and my company's business.

Not a local. I needed a drink but I don't like beer so when I am forced to drink beer, I take forever to decide what I want because I just hate most of them. So I went in hoping for a sangria or a good wine. No luck. Ok beer then. I asked Mike (who is amazing and adorable btw) what he had that didn't taste like beer. He brought me samples until I found one I liked. Then I asked if he would sell me a glass as a souvenir. He let me take the one he served my beer in! By far one of the best examples of world class customer service I have experienced here in the Big Apple! If you are looking for a cozy place to relax and have a cold one, this is definitely worth checking out. Thanks so much Mike, you made my night!

You can't beat the brunch special. The BBQ Eggs Benedict was great. The breakfast burrito was also fantastic. But, what really made the brunch outstanding was the bottomless mimosas. I would definitely recommend the place and deal to others. Sharon E. Manzo

Really great delicious food! And we ate a lot! Yummy food. Excellent service. Great atmosphere. Can't recommend enough. We will be back frequently! To start, we shared the double dip, Sliders, French onion soup, wings and fries...all fresh ingredients and came hot. The wings are AMAZING! We loved the habernero and chipotle Jameson flavor wings! Came with crispy carrots and celery. And the dips were amazing!!! LOVED the cheesy buffalo chicken dip! It was goey melted cheesy goodness -- & was even better than my boyfriends mom's Super Bowl recipe (high praise indeed). And the sliders were tiny bits of heaven!!! You won’t regret them. I didn’t get to taste the French onion soup because my friend Sarah hogged it and licked the bowl clean. She is normally a picky eater so guessing it was amazing... For our mains, I had the French dip which is a gorgeous crispy steak sandwich you dip in jus...I add mushrooms and changed the cheese to Swiss (kitchen were wonderful and accommodating). We also had the steak which was succulent and melted in our mouth! And OMG the brandy peppercorn sauce was gorgeous!!! I really loved the pizza...it’s homemade focaccia style based was delicious and right amount of toppings. We also really enjoyed their homemade French fries. Soft on inside and crispy outside. They have truffle fries but we decided we wanted the classics...next time! It was girls night with my work colleagues and all of us were catered to...my healthy work colleague got a Caesar salad with dressing on side and another had the salmon. And mains can come with fruit / salad at no extra charge! Wonderful service and great atmosphere. Good selection of beers from original Sun rose cider to lovely IPAs. And for those of you who love decadent deliciousness-- you must try the fried Oreos! We got a bowl of vanilla ice cream and shared those bad boys!!!

We stopped in for a beer earlier in the day. BAR Service ONLY was great! Beers were cold and we loved the bartender's recommendations. We decided to come back for dinner given our postive bar experience. This was the game changer. Our waitress was inattentive, and borderline rude. Our order came to the table all at once despite our request to take some items to go. We were also overcharged for multiple items. She did fix the bill, but it took 30 minutes to do so. Great place to go for a beer at the bar. Food was tasty, just disappointed in sub par waitress service.

This place is great! All the NFL games, all the MLB games, great tap list, and the food was good to. Also a great staff, especially the manager Janice!

The customer service was horrible. We had four people at our table and three people got their plates we kept asking for the 4th persons plate and they kept saying one minute. By the time the plate came after asking for a manager everyone else was done eating. During the no 4th plate we asked for utensils. The girl came back and said she only has one set..... The dish washer is broke...... then we asked for more napkins since she only brought us the one set with one cloth napkin.. She can back with a few napkins and wet wipes... Just ridiculous.. The 4th plate was free but honestly all of them should've been...

Staying just over the road at the Intercontinental Times Square and what a great bar, real welcoming staff and great atmosphere, highly recommend it.

Good service , good food and good beer. Nice atmosphere. I will give good praise to someone who can cook my burger the way I like. Extremely well done. I would eat here again and try a different beer from a pretty good selection.
