We went a couple times for breakfast as we were staying at the Edison. They offer free grab and go breakfast with choice of egg and bacon sandwhich, yogurt parfait, fruit, juice, coffee and more. For $5 ypu cam dine in and get choice of French toast with fruit, yogurt parfait or egg breakfast. We also went for lunch and the food was decent. Server was friendly but not very knowledgeable about the menu or items. Maybe he was new. Overall it was convenient and fast.

Good food and quick service by friendly staff. If you stay at the Hotel you may get a $5 voucher for breakfast. With that voucher you can order from a special menu. It's a great deal as opposed to ordering off the regular menu. In either case the food is tasty and arrives hot. The room is a bit noisy but is an elegant old space with lots of ornate plaster work. Too bad when they did the makeover they totally ignored the architecture of the room and selected these awful looking hanging light fixtures and sconces. I have now eaten here three times so I don't really need to say more....

We always find ourselves at Friedman's at the Edison when our family visits Times Square. The simple yet fun environment creates the perfect backdrop for our gatherings.
The star of the show, without a doubt, is the must-have breakfast burger. Its combination of flavors leaves our taste buds dancing with joy. Egg, bacon, and a large beef patty. This, paired with the generously sized vanilla shake adorned with a decadent brownie, it's a match made in heaven.
Friedman's consistently delivers on both taste and atmosphere, making it our top choice for family outings. The central location in Times Square adds an extra layer of excitement to the overall experience. Five stars without a doubt – a culinary gem in the heart of the city that never sleeps!

Absolutely delicious breakfast! The shakshuka is divine- the pastrami hash was excellent (I snuck a bite from my husband’s plate. Our server was kind, and very efficient even on a busy holiday week (and after waiting on a huge school group!) I ordered takeout, and it was fast and accurate! I even made reservations for a THIRD meal with a larger group! Look, part of the reason I love NYC is the food, so it is extremely rare for me to come back to a place this many times. For Times Square, it didn’t feel over the top or touristy.

Deserves 10 stars ⭐️ Amazing for Gluten Free options. Food was delicious and our servers were fantastic! We ate there 3 X for breakfast and once for dinner. Our son has celiac and felt 100 % safe with their food prep.

Gluten-free heaven! We ate our hearts out in gluten-free appetizers. We went when the servers were singing, so we did wait about 20 mins until we were greeted by our server. So FYI it's not a typical restaurant experience, you need some patience! There is also an 80 minute time limit. I recommend making a reservation around 7pm or later so you don't feel as rushed at the end.

A must visit place for someone who is gluten free. They have the best gluten free pancakes I have ever tasted, if I didn't know I wouldn't think they were gluten free by the taste or texture. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, but most importantly quick! Never have I had such prompt service and food delivery. We were cramped for time and still made it in/out in about 30 mins.

This was a delicious restaurant and there are tons of gluten free options! Thank you so much! I got the veggie grains bowl with tofu, again thank you!! not many restuarants offer this and it is always super appreciated. You can get almost the whole menu gluten free, it was delicious

The food is very delicious. The decoration and atmosphere are wonderful. The waiters sing while you eat and they are incredible.

Not so crowded if you get there before 9am. Nice looking interior and with the high ceiling, even if you’re seating nearer the kitchen area, it’s still quite pleasant. Had the fried chicken and cheddar waffle. One of the better ones in the Broadway area. The pastrami hash is really good too. Worth a visit if the queue isn’t too long.

This place is nicely decorated. Very elegant and classy. The food is always delicious. Try the Korean bbq wings! It’s a must. Perfect for gluten friendly people. Great service. Thank you.

We went for Sunday brunch and had pretty good experience. I made a reservation first at 12:45 and was able to change it to 1:15 due to train delay. They provided a high chair for my baby and ensure there were space for all of us. The service was quick and the food was delicious. They accommodated all our needs (e.g sub poached eggs with over-medium , sub salmon with bacon etc. ) . The pricing was surprisingly reasonable. The place is very spacious and staff were very nice. We ended up being one of the few groups there that stayed for long. They weren’t rushing us to leave at all. Highly recommend!

The food was delicious . Waitress could have been more attentive . Other than that, the food was very good with generous portions . The food did come out quick! I recommend the salmon bowl (the sesame dressing and everything in it is to die for). Pastrami on rye 🤤

THE best food in NYC, especially if you are celiac. Almost all of the menu can be made gluten free, and all staff are very knowledgeable of allergens. By far the nicest and highest quality gluten free food I have ever had in the decade I've been a celiac. I came here multiple times during my trip, sometimes even multiple times a day! Everyone I brought here said the food was fantastic. Bottom line is: go here, it's divine.

Friedman’s At the Edison is a great place to catch a bite before or after a show. Entertainment abounds, with regular live music including singing servers. The menu has good breadth. Restrooms are in the hotel lobby, so ask for guidance before you go. Food nicely presented and tasty.

Worth it for the experience! I had the Pastrami Ruben and the taste was pretty good. However you can def get a better Pastrami for less in NYC... my friends liked the burger and chicken & waffles. Having said that.. I'd pay full price for the entertainment again and again. Shout out to all the servers and food staff!

Breakfast was excellent. Crowd started to trickle in by 8:30am. Service was good and attentive.

The food here is incredibly well executed. I've eaten here once for lunch and again for breakfast, and all of our meals were incredibly well prepared, which I don't say lightly.
The grilled chicken sandwich is the best I've ever had - I don't understand how they so perfectly cooked such thin strips of chicken.
The potato pancake on the Nova Benny was the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the poached eggs couldn't have been better.
My wife's salmon was flavorful and cooked perfectly (as were its mashed and spinach,) and her Pastrami Hash was also incredible, but a little carrot in the hash would have been a welcome addition.
My son had the cheeseburger (plain with cheese and a gluten free bun) twice lol and loved it both times, as well as the fries.
The gluten free options are awesome if that's you, and also great if you're not.
Quality service, sometimes a tad slow, but that's me being hyper critical because everything else was done so well.
Bathrooms are in the adjoined hotel, so a little walk - men's bathroom was fine for me, but my wife described the women's room as "tiny and overused".
Overall, Friedman's is highly recommended!
