Was fortunate to book a table for 5 adults and 3 young kids last minute for special reunion of friends. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed at how well we were taken care of and accommodated given the circumstances. The atmosphere was lively. The food and service were top notch. We decided to go with the Chef's Menu - The Classics, which put less pressure on everyone to choose a dish. We were blown away at how each bite that arrived was just as delicious as the next. I highly recommend giving Boqueria Flatiron a try if you are in the mood for a tapas experience with a group of friends. Thank you!

Some of the better Spanish tapas we've enjoyed outside of Spain. Food was good not great, service was fine, they were attentive enough and the flow of our orders was well paced. We were seated on the patio on a very quiet day. The road was closed for a film shoot so it lacked some of that sidewalk patio ambience.

First time customer, first time doing the tapas experience and let me just say wow. It was absolutely delicious. On paper almost every plate would have been something I would never pick but man am I glad I didn't have to, because I would have missed out on how good the food is and props to the chef! Literally every round of food was better than the last. I highly recommend you try it out!!

Boqueria is a good dinner spot and a great place to start the night with some drinks and light tapas. It's not the best Spanish cuisine I've had, but it was respectable and tasty. Like many Spanish restaurants, it is fundamentally a tapas bar, so I highly recommend getting a few tapas in addition to a main dish (all of which is best shared). We went with the croquetas (my favorite), the tomates de verano (very unique, fresh and tasty) and the shishito peppers (good, but nothing special). Our group of three paired that with the medium-sized seafood paella ("paella de mariscos"), which was just the right amount of food altogether. If you're looking for a nice drink from their extensive menu, you won't go wrong with the sangria tinta. Prob best to make a reservation, but you might get lucky.

Cool place, with nice vibes, resembling a Spanish boqueria. Service was good. The noises however made the experience a little less enjoyable. It was really hard to hear each other around the table. If you can, if the weather allows, I recommend booking a table outside. The food was good. The patatas bravas were delicious and we ordered an extra portion. The paella takes 45 min to make. So plan your meal accordingly. We got churros for dessert with Nutella and Dulce de leche. Really good! Freshly made. Book in advance if possible.

Amazing food! But the place was packed and very loud. Excellent location for 20-somethings, but my 30-50s ladies brunch felt a little overwhelmed. Also, it's important to note that if you'd like to do the endless drinks, everyone at the table must drink. And when some folks don't drink, it doesn't really work. The host was so welcoming and willing to take photos for our group. The waiters were a little disorganized. Maybe because it was busy--hectic. I would absolutely go again for the food, however... ideally at a less busy time.

Dined at Boqueria and opted for the “Boqueria Experience” at $65 per person. We were treated to an array of tapas and indulged in the seafood paella. While the flavors were spot-on and the ambience reminiscent of a true Barcelona tapas bar, the portion sizes left a bit to be desired for the combined $130 price point. We sampled the white, rosé, and piña sangrias, all of which were refreshingly tasty, though they could’ve packed a stronger punch. While I’d recommend giving Boqueria a visit, I might lean more towards ordering individual tapas à la carte on a future trip. Definitely a return-worthy spot!

Came on a Sunday for an early dinner. It was a bit empty when we arrived but slowly filled up with different sized groups as our meal went on. Very nice warm ambiance with all bar height seating which was actually kind of nice. There were 3 of us and we were hungry after doing some shopping around the area. It’s tapas style - which I think is slowly becoming new speak for “small but still expensive”, but I digress. We started with red sangria which was yummy in a fruit punch kind of way. Next was the chipped up eggplant with big chunks of toast - delicious but for some reason wasn't expecting the eggplant to be chopped up. Then the croquettes - both were fried very nicely. The ham was tasty but the mushroom was amazing. The asparagus was next - which I think was made for this tapas format. Then the shrimp with garlic came out with a chunk of crusty bread perfect for sopping up all the garlicky oily sauce. The octopus with fennel and mashed potatoes - tender and tasty. Lamb skewers with chimichurri - very flavorful. So far the tapas were just delight after delight. We also ordered a small paella which finally came out. Have to be honest, this was the weakest dish by far. It was dry and frankly not that flavorful. We knew we were going to skip dessert so we ended up with the broccoli with almonds and mint (fresh and savory) and the lamb meatballs (very soft and tasty in a rich tomato sauce). So overall, the food was delicious except for the paella. Or waitress was very helpful and was basically spot on in terms of ordering enough dishes for our appetite. It turned out we could have gone the route of the chefs menu for approx the same cost but I think we really got to explore the menu with exactly what we wanted to try. Overall a solid tapas restaurant!

Came for lunch and ordered a chef’s special that wasn’t on the menu. There are two types of specials and we ordered the “Experience” which was $65 per person. Turned out to be fantastic and they have such nice, welcoming staff! Highly recommend.

Lovely little restaurant for tapas. We had 6 plates and one salmon bowl for 4. All were excellent. Service was great, staff friendly and attentive without hovering. The food came out staggered in a reasonable amount of time and noise level was low enough that we could hear each other. Server was able to identify gluten-free options for me but they can't guarantee no cross-contamination which is honest at least! I did not get sick.

Went to Boqueria as we went to Kleinfeld and wanted a good margarita. It is very welcoming when you arrive. I'm not sure if it's because we were joking with the staff in Spanish, but their signature margarita came out fast (its a jalapenos infused served with a toasted jalapenos). For some ppl, taste for this is unfamiliar and possibly overwhelming, so the second rounds... Rose Sangria and regular margaritas. They were delish but seemed to go extra fast. Provided free bread then ordered (tapas) finger foods, and they were a good light compliment to the drinks. Our server seemed to disappear for a little bit, eventually returned.

Had a wonderful brunch. Waitstaff was patient and pleasant. We forgot to share information about an allergy and the kitchen quickly modified the dish. Deeply appreciated. Contemporary decor and lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

I had never had Tapas before. So to start off your tapas experience at this place was exquisite. We got the chef’s plate which comprised of an insane amount of food crafted for the table, meaning one piece or bite for each person. We were 4, so everything had a minimum of 4. Perfect for sharing. The place was bustling with laughter and the wait staff were very patient and helped our non-Spanish heads with every question they had. Amazing experience!

We did outdoor dining. The employees were amazing. They made eye contact, smile, knowledgable and overall friendly. Our food was super delicious. Simple and fresh ingredients. I can taste the quality in every bite. Very flavorful. I was very impressed with my steak and my drink (Summer Gin Tonic). Really refreshing. I will definitely revisit this restaurant in the future.

I had a wonderful time here after taking the evening train to New York. We were able to try a large fraction of the menu items and there were some real standouts. I'll start with what I liked best. The seafood paella was excellent. The seafood was perfectly cooked and plentiful (though some pieces were a bit too smoky). The mussels and clams were especially tender and juicy. The rice was flavorful. I would definitely come back for this. The dulce de leche churros were absolutely amazing. They were stuffed with hot caramel that oozes out as you bite into it. I am still thinking about this dessert and really want to go back for it. And now for a quick run through of the rest of what we tried Great: octopus (perfectly cooked), tomato bread (very tasty). Good: Patatas bravas (nice garlic aioli), shishito peppers (could have better seasoning but great cook). Fine: Gambas, anchovies, tortilla espagnola, chocolate churros. Meh: Eggplant (too creamy, can't taste eggplant), broccoli (too creamy) I definitely want to come back and have the paella and churros again! They were excellent.

Julie and Kareen were amazing!!! They knew exactly what to recommend from their menu. Food and drinks came out fast and fresh! Had Sangria, garlic shrimp, bone marrow, tomato bread and a plate of fried anchovies. Vibrant but also chill vibe, head to the back of the La Boqueria to find this gem!

You would always be pleased if you came in, got some drinks and ate exclusively paella. I usually inhale my food but I couldn't help but take my time with their paella. I would not ever again pay 34 dollars for their Jamon iberico. It is simply not worth it when the flavors are nothing to write home about. The tapas were very polarizing, with stellar plates and fairly mid plates. Patatas bravas: delicious. Would eat again Mushroom croquettes: wonderfully done, just portioned small. Garlic shrimp: not bad, just was not impressed. Squash: deliciously creamy and sweet. I loved it. Lamb: plated incorrectly, lamb on top of bread means that the bread steals all the moisture from the lamb, and overall was lacking in flavor. Still pleased with my overall experience and the service staff was nothing short of lovely.

Very good tapas and drinks! Different varieties and flavored. The service was really good and the atmosphere too. You might get fooled by the loo from the outside but it definitely is a nice little spot inside.

Amazing tapas place !!! I've tried a few Spanish places cause I'm a tapas lover and I have to say that this one has a little "je ne sais quoi" !!! First their menu is different than the regular tapas (they do have regular stuff as the patata brava or the Spanish omelet) but they have extra delicious tapas like the mushrooms, onions, chorizo with cheese croutons (pictured) !! Plus their sangria is super good !!! I had the blackberry and vanilla one and it's so original and tasty !!! Definitely recommend this place !! Another plus, the place looks very nice and the ambiance is perfect for any type of gathering !!! Love it !

A really bad night. We regret choosing this place. Sangria felt like a cordial drink with no alcohol. So, we had a plate of cheeses and left. The place felt a little sleepy. With so many good places in town don't waist your time.

This place is absolutely made by the immaculate service (knowledgable, warm, helpful), trendy yet unpretentious atmosphere, and enticing seasonal menus. The food itself was solid, but it still hurt a little to shell out the $45 per person at the end. I'd definitely recommend for special occasions and as long as you're prepared for a pricier menu. Some dishes are more significantly more cost-effective than others.

Awesome Experience. I had tapas for the very first time at Boqueria and let me say I was soooo pleasantly surprised. We went out with a group of friends, and ordered basically a little bit of everything on the menu. Everything was delicious, fresh, and amazing! <br/><br/>Be prepared to spend approximately $40+ per person for a good time and to sample a bit of everything! :)

Close seating so you better be okay with hearing other people's conversations and them hearing yours. Nice European style water, glad we had the bottle next to us so we didn't have to wait for refills! Orders came out o e at a time, first Pan con tomate, very crispy for my taste but I understand that's the style of the cuisine. Next were the lamb meatballs, 5 of them with an excellent tomato sauce and delicious creamy sheep cheese, decidedly my favorite. Then we moved on from the tapas to the bocadas, got a sausage and Olivada sandwich, again on tougher bread, that paled in comparison to the meatballs but alone would probably stand very well. No dessert for us. Probably above average for this area but not a stand out.

If you know what are real tapas, you could be disappointed. I was on a trip and was very excited to try Boqueria. We went there after a hockey game. None of the tapas were exceptionnal enough to say we would come back. I found that there are better options in NYC for even less money. If you've been in Spain and you are as crazy as me about tapas, don't expect too much. It's good, not bad, but really nothing special.

Totally sucked. Bacon wrapped dates were good, and you cant go wrong with a meat and cheese plate. Everything else was a complete dissapointment. Very bland and poorly prepared. Worst of all the reccomendations were really bad. If not for great company this would have been the worst dining experience ever.

Tapas, tapas, tapas. Chic, beautiful place just off 5th in Chelsea. Great change of pace, if feeling like something a little different. Although it is a bit crowded and "trendy" , especially at dinner hours, it surprisingly has a warmth and friendliness that easily comes across. An extra large part has to come from the service, which is prompt, very friendly, and moi knowledgeable. Food, is all freshly prepared with the best of ingredients, and what your server doesn't answer, the short descriptions of dishes histories and locations in Spain that they and variations are from will. Sangria is perfect. Unfortunately, its not inexpensive, but in my opinion, is well worth it. Great place.

Boqueria was Awesome. We were pleasantly surprised when we found this restaurant. It was small and packed (in a good way). There is a first-come, first-serve area in the front that we got into right away as someone was moving to their table. They recommended dishes that were amazing - AND they had a story about each dish and how it related to the region of Spain where they originated from. The service was the best!!! We so enjoyed the history lesson while we pigged out!

Terrible. Told the wait was 35 - 40 min. Waited almost an hour. Food was burnt, not done in middle (cod balls-didn't finish them they were so bad), bread that accompanied the shrimp was burnt on outside-inetible. The atmosphere was like a school cafeteria - very loud and poor service. Definitely not worth the wait or quality of the food. It was all about young people being out there and not the quality of the food or the ambiance of the restaurant

Hard to believe if you're a vegetarian that you have options at a jambon-driven tapas spot but Boqueria proved the veggie skeptic wrong. Highly recommend the 'Coca de Papada y Setas' which is a flavorful flatbred w/goat cheese, roasted artichokes and mushrooms on top. Also, the garlic, chickpea, spinach, pine nut and raisin dish was lightly filling and exciting way to get you greens in. Paired with the Val De Sil 2007 white, made for the perfect lunch on a bright spring day in the city. Now only if they had outside tables...

Great basque experience. I will gravitate to any restaurant that serves Jamon Serrano. More so, Boqueria offered great sandwiches, cheese selections, and tapas. The staff was also really friendly!

Great BDAY. Went there for a stop of food for my birthday dinner. I am tickled pink with what we ordered. Had great Spanish wines and life isn't too bad after eating a great meal. I rather spend the extra dollar to get great food rather then something mediocre.

Good tapas and atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip to Boqueria. It's crowded and trendy, but not so much that it's obnoxious. Chef Mullen was milling about, which was a nice treat. The waitstaff is really strong, so just put yourself in their hands. Black foot ham, shrimp in garlic, black rice, fried peppers, and braised pork belly were all delicious. The red sangria was refreshing and not oversweet. Finish the meal with some patxaran (pa-ch-aran) and the spanish toast dessert (cream sherry paired well too). A good spot for 2 to 4.

Good New York interpretation. Boqueria provides a New York interpretation of tapas. The thing that I find when eating tapas in places other than Spain, is that it doesn't live up to the tapas ideal, which was to serve a small amount of food on a plate, served on top of a drink. But what happens in many cases outside of Spain, is that the food becomes the focus, rather than the drink or the conversation... and, sadly, it is often overpriced and doesn't make for drinking, snacking and chatting. That said, Boqueria serves very good tapas, and the atmosphere is friendly and helpful. I just wish someone would open a tapas bar, and serve reasonably priced tapas...

PAPASAO. This was the first time ever being there. I had been to the boqueria market in Barcelona, and this is as close as anything in the U.S. I really liked the food and the tapas were amazing. The paella, wasn't what I expected though. It was too small for a portion of more than 5 people. However, I recommend it and because this place is so good, make sure you make a clad iron solid reservation, otherwise get ready to wait at least 40 minutes for a table of 6.

Overall, there were some tasty dishes while the service felt like I was trippin on mushrooms without actually trippin. At the end of the day, I’m not opposed to going back however I’m not exactly dying to add it to my stable of “go to” restaurants as of yet, which is why It’s Complicated.

I Just Want To Eat
So we were craving for tapas and ended up in Boqueria in Chelsea. The place is very nice with a decor that has a modern and rustic feel at the same time. There are two main areas: the bar area where you can just sit on high tables by yourself and look at the preparation of the tapas; and the main room with its large tables and, on one side a wall full of mineral water bottles and a big mirror on the other side. I love the lights that are, on each side of the restaurant, simply bulbs (stylish, do not look for energy efficient ones!). Boqueria serves either tapas, cheeses and meats or Spanish specialties. We decided to go for tapas. If you do not know, tapas are appetizers or snacks in Spanish cuisine. It is a great way to share plates and a lot of restaurants have borrowed this idea. Tapas can be served either hot or cold. The traditional items you would find are olives and tortilla that is and egg and potato omelet. The tortilla was the best I ever had: I do not like when eggs are over

Boqueria is one of the more authentic tapas experiences in New York, but the more you fall in love with these experiences, the more you crave to seek the real deal across the pond. However, perhaps it’s not such a bad thing to be the next best thing.
