Review Bubby's - New York City

Deniz Can Hekimoglu
Great location for breakfast or brunch. Don’t let the line in front scare you as we didn’t have to wait more than 15-20 minutes even though the line was huge! Their food is fabulous and super filling. The pancakes are a must. My recommendation is to order a main dish and a double stack with banana and pecans + berry compote with Nutella, rather than ordering the pancake flight as it’s quite big. This way you get to try multiple items on the menu without wasting food! Over all an easy 5 star from me!

What a fun place. Lots of hustle and bustle to bring you huge portions of breakfast favorites. The waiter was very good and even though pretty busy in there, no rush to move you along. Enjoyed the people watching in there, looked like a mix of local and tourist. I'd go back in a flash. Fried chicken is to die for.

Our first dine-in experience since landing in a New York! We decided to venture to Bubby's after reading a few reviews and we were more than pleased with the service and atmosphere on arrival. Within a short time we had our coffees and had ordered our meals that followed without much delay. Meals were delicious!! Thanks to Bubby's staff for making an exceptional first impression in a couple of Aussies 👍❤️🙂

Heaven, I can't think of any other words, the pancakes, the bacon, the coffee, the staff, service, everything was perfect. The size of the pancakes was huge, tasted delicious, we could not finish everything and was offered a box to take out leftovers home. We had the refillable coffee and the staff never let out cups run empty, every member of staff was so helpful, friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend booking in advance as it was very busy and people who had not booked had a long wait.

Amazing brunch place with a queue that’s worth it :) We came here and stayed queued as a party of 2 for 15-20mins, but it was super worth it! We got the flight of pancakes and the chicken pancakes and they were amazing! Especially the fried chicken tasted exactly like those from the countryside.. delicious!! The pancakes were suuuper fluffly and tasty. For drinks, it was December so the eggnog was necessary, and it was great!

Finally, finally got to try their pancakes!🥞 Could be the best American-style pancake I found in NYC would say! Everyone was satisfied with their dish. Overall is slightly pricy, but the portion is huge and food is delicious. They are just doing great and better in general, compared to other brunch place. 🥞🍯Pancake? For sure! Don’t know what flavor to order? Just get the flight! And that was what we got. If I have to pick one flavor from the three, I’ll go with the banana & walnut & cream or the classic blueberry. The seasonal dish, 🍴✨Duck hash, was delicious as well. Balanced seasoning, well cooked duck meat with potato. Their housemade sourdough completed the dish. We also had a loaf of rye bread. Outstanding. Took out biscuits with their housemade butter and jam, can’t wait to try!

I had often pondered the reason behind the consistently bustling crowd at this particular spot whenever I strolled past. So, I tagged it on my Google Maps as a place to check out. Finally, yesterday was the day, and I couldn't have been more pleased. The cuisine was exceptionally delightful, the drinks were top-notch, and the hot cider was a particular favorite—perfect for the rainy weather. I must highlight that the service exceeded my expectations. Christopher, our waiter, was not only kind but also exceptionally nice.

Love this spot, it my go to place for a comfort-food- style brunch. The biscuits are AMAZING. I love the casual, home style vibe and the vintage PHOTO-BOOTH is so much fun! However, wait times can be pretty long at peak times and some seating areas are awkwardly near high traffic areas. But if you are patient, the food is so, so with it.

Visited as a tourist from the UK as per a recommendation. Arrive early if you want to eat there - it was packed (in a good way). Great atmosphere and come with an appetite - we had the flight pancakes. It was nice to sit at the bar. Staff were lovely. Would recommend if you want authentic NYC pancakes.

I visitied on a Wednesday without reservation I needed to wait 5 min. Sat down and ordered 5 min later the food is served to you. It is an old diner vibe restaurant. The signature Pancakes 🥞 were incredible. The green overload omelette and fries were good but not very special. Main courses costs between 20-26$ wirh beverages you have unlimited refills the costs around 6$. Overall we paid 75$ for 2 dishes and 2 drinks, pretty expensive for tourists but absolutely ok for new york. The service were in a good mood others were horrible unfriendly. So it depends on your luck who is your service person. We left happy and satisfied with a good feeling.

First time been here! We had the sourdough pancakes with mix berries compote and they were super delicious! That was our favorite! They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating with a bar inside. Also, they sell merchandise from the restaurant and some of the things are really cute like the mugs, apron and tote bag. Plus the sell their Sour Cream Pancake Mix. The staff is friendly, but I think the service could have been faster, there was not a lot of people when we were there, other than that everything was great! I’ll come back to try some of the desserts!

My husband and I never go into the city without eating here! At this point I use it as a bribe to get him to drive in. It’s honestly some of the best food I’ve had. The service and vibe are also league above most other restaurants. Highly recommend

This place is on the road to becoming iconic (if not already). Perfect for breakfast or for brunch this little place will be busy with locals and tourists alike. Menu: Great menu choice I had Bubbys breakfast which was 2 eggs (I had sunny side up), with fresh toast, delicious strips of bacon and some home made potatoes. Plus an extra serve of pork sausages. Washed it down with Coca Cola in a glass with ice. Really tasty and fresh meal. Amazing brunch!! Bar: Plenty of spirits Service: Very good Staff: Helpful and friendly Cleanliness: Clean, neat and tidy Seating: We sat at the bar and got very good service from friendly staff. Restrooms: There are unisex toilets downstairs. Atmosphere: Was popping off and very busy. We had to wait around 10-15 mins to get in but once inside it was a great little atmosphere of friendly staff and people enjoying their food and drinks. Prices: Slightly overpriced (but worth it) Would I go again: Yes Would I recommend: Yes Overview: Probably one of the better places to get brunch in this area.

Before coming here we read about Bubby's New York that it is a beloved restaurant with locations in several neighborhoods across New York City. The restaurant is well-known for its comforting and classic American fare, including delicious breakfasts, hearty brunch options, and mouthwatering comfort foods. We really got what we read about it. As we guessed it will have a line outside, glad we went early in the morning which made our wait time shorter. The ambiance at Bubby's is warm and inviting, with a rustic and retro-inspired decor that adds to the overall charm of the dining experience. The atmosphere is perfect for gathering with friends or family, providing a cozy setting for a relaxing meal. The menu features a wide range of dishes, with highlights such as fluffy pancakes, fluffy buttermilk biscuits, flavorful burgers, and a variety of comforting desserts. The use of fresh and locally sourced ingredients ensures the quality and authenticity of the dishes. We literally saw the fresh ingredients coming to this place while we were standing in line !! The service is attentive and friendly. Overall, Bubby's New York is a delightful spot to enjoy classic American comfort food in a welcoming and homey setting. Whether it's for a leisurely brunch or a comforting dinner, Bubby's delivers a satisfying dining experience that keeps patrons coming back for more.

There’s a reason Bubby’s is one of the most well-known breakfast spots on Hudson St. Although they’re known for their pancakes, all of their breakfast items are equally as good. I ordered the salmon bagel and it was delicious, portion size was great. Only downside is it can get really noisy if you’re not the type of person who does well in noisy atmospheres.

Had the pancake flight and I’ll be the first admit that while it was a delicious treat, it was too much for me! Definitely worth having 2-3 friends to share it with. Service during weekend brunch is walk-in only and the wait can be as low as 30 min!

I’ve been told that this place is a pancake institution of nyc, so naturally my expectations are high! This place lived up to the hype, make sure you book prior otherwise you’ll be waiting minimum 30mins to an hour. The menu options are very vast, so you’ll find a combo of flavours and toppings for your pancakes that you’ll enjoy. They also serve other breakfast foods if that’s more your thing. Servings are incredibly generous, and pancakes are as they should be - fluffy, delicate, soft. I got a pink lemonade which I don’t recommend. Stick to the pancakes! My friend is gluten free and her pancakes were apparently also very good. Excellent texture. So if you’re around and you love pancakes, I recommend!

Amazing pancakes so big we couldn’t finish the pancake flight. Really quick service. Long queues so would recommend getting there early. We got there for 9 and was sat within 5-10 minutes but as we ate the crowds started coming. Also arrive as your whole group or you won’t be seated
