Review Barn Joo 35 - New York City

Delicious Korean style tapas. The seafood pancake was pricey and I don’t think it’s worth it, but besides that, everything I had was good. Love the mushroom and shishito pepper. The crispy tofu was a pleasant surprise. Pork, potato, and rice cake was delicious. Buns were also good. Service was good. I am looking forward to coming back to try more things 😊

Adorable, intimate, Delicious, friendly. These would be the four word I would use to describe Barn Joo 35. We had a party of 6 at 8pm on a Saturday and didn’t have reservations but the staff got a table together for us in the blink of an eye. The restaurant is quaint and has a lovely atmosphere. The rear open kitchen concept allows you to see what’s happening or focus on your own party. The food was outstanding. And the kitchen prepares and brings everything out family style. But everyone had food within 5 minutes of the first dish being dropped off. Perfect levels of spice and heat. I highly recommend the seafood Japche as an entrée and the shishito peppers and mushrooms as an appetizer. Samantha was an amazing server, but the entire staff was so friendly and helpful. 10/10 will be returning.

Such a fun restaurant!! Delicious food and great vibes. I will say the music made for a louder ambiance but the music was bangin. I was so tempted to get up and dance multiple times. As for the food, my friend is the Korean expert so I can’t say I can recall all of the dishes and their names perfectly, but I will call a couple out: 1. The fried chili shrimp tapas was delicious. The flavors in the sauces were delicious and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. 2. Katsu was great. 3. Hot stone bowl with bulgogi was arguably my favorite dish. 4. The glass noodles in the bulgogi hot pot were also prime. Honestly this dish was sooo much food, total price performer. 5. Spicy pork main was DELICIOUS. I know I got really enthusiastic just there but I loved the flavors in the spicy pork and it was totally bearable from a spice perspective. Also bonus points because they had tall 12oz. Skinny coke cans. This was a vibe because they are rare.

Had a fantastic time at this restaurant! The ambiance was delightful, and the interior had a charming vibe. The food was absolutely delicious. The added bonus of spinning the fortune wheel for free food and drinks with a reservation is a great touch(only for those who have reservation) . Don't miss out—call and book a table for a memorable dining experience!

Not All You Can Eat! …but the best KBBQ I’ve had in the area in a while. Sooo worth it!! Ok our group enjoyed ourselves and ate the perfect portion unlike the all you can eat places where you end up just gross lol. The meats and fish where so flavorful and fresh. The service was fast and unrushed. The Drinks!!! Sooo Good! Ask for the slushie (Frozen drink) The desserts where amazing as well. This place is definitely a must eat nyc location and the price was decent a bit high but again worth it worth it worth it. I promise you will Enjoy.

Love the food and cocktails here! Best chili shrimp in KTown by far. Pictures is the BBQ Chicken main with side of rice. Highly recommend.

05/20/23; First meal in nyc this summer and had it with this LA来的NYsoul. (Was trying to go to Chong dang gol but the line was too long.. The galbi-jjim is okay, mainly sweet which I don’t hate, but I’d say it’s lacking other flavor like savory and spiciness. The soft shell crab is pretty nice with the sauce. Also got the special soju cocktail 🍹☺️ 姐姐 dropped her hat when we finished walking out on the street.. but gladly we found it back

Had an excellent time at Barn Joo 35. I've enjoyed the Korean tapas concept at Danji before and Barn Joo doesn't disappoint either! We had the Seafood Pancake, Steamed Veggie dumpling, and Barn Joo Salad and greatly enjoyed all of them a lot. The lemonade with its glowing light in the glass was a nice touch. The ambience is excellent and the service was amazing. Overall, highly recommend!

Went on a Monday evening- the restaurant was full! Luckily found a table. Ordered the soju drink- nothing exciting. For apps we ordered the dumplings and truffle fries. The dumplings were good, truffle fries average. Main course- veggie japche - exceptional! Loved every spoon of it; tofu and mushroom hot stone bowl- yummy, just loved the way tofu was cooked, melted in the mouth! Overall, great service, good food!

Really liked our stop here. Food came out fresh and drinks were well made. I especially enjoyed their pomegranate drink. Happy hour is available. Bathroom is downstairs. Parking is very rare but possible. Great ambience inside with attentive staff.

I visited Barn Joo with my friends for a late lunch. It was quiet since it was between lunch and dinner so it was easy to chat. I enjoyed the music, atmosphere, and food. The restaurant is a bit small so the tables and chairs are close together but everything else is fantastic! I ordered the bibimbap stone pot and it was absolutely delicious. My friends each ordered the lunch combo with galbi and all of the food was great. The portion sizes are very generous for the price, especially in NYC and I would absolutely come back!

Came here for lunch on a Thursday at 145pm. Thank goodness we made reservations because this place was packed. They have an awesome lunch combo available from 12p to 4p on weekdays. I got the katsu lunch combo ($26) and it came with all these side dishes. My daughter got the Tofu mushroom hot stone bowl lunch combo ($24), which was honestly amazing. It was way better than mine and I am definitely getting that the next time I go. I also got a glass of rosè ($9) It was just OK, nothing to write home about. The service was on point and they were very quick to bring out the food and refilling our water. The bathroom is down a steep, narrow flight of stairs so be aware if you're mobility impaired or visually impaired. What a great place to have lunch in the Ktown area!

We shared beef buns, pork fried dumplings, and sweet potatoes glass noodles with vegetables. All were delicious but we couldn't taste any sweet potatoes. Cocktails were lovely and refreshing.

The food was great and came out in a timely fashion. The server knew the menu and offered recommendations. The flight of sake was great! Came with a friend and had a great time. It was toward the end of night and closing so service seemed a bit rushed, but still great overall.

Samantha was awesome. She recommended me a hot stone dish and I wished less rice. Everything came in perfection - one of the best in k-town!

Came here around 5:30pm in a Wednesday and the place was at capacity. I don’t think you could have just left asked in without a wait. If you come on time for your reservation, they let you spin a wheel with prices, so you can win kimchi or some other yummy thing. The food was good, but there weren’t a ton of very healthy options. I did enjoy the steamed dumplings. We tried the veggie and the shrimp ones and I enjoyed both.

What a great find this was, right across the road from our hotel. The food was great, we had tapas from the menu and it was delicious. The waitress was very helpful and when asked she gave us a couple of suggestions on what we might like. I would definitely recommend this Restuarant.

The friendly staff, menu, DUMPLINGS, cocktail carafes, cocktail ice pops and interiors were all spot on! With the smooth service and tasty food it's hard to believe it's only been open for a few weeks! I wish I was a local I'd be coming here a lot more often
