Absolutely love this place!! Bistango is literally my girlfriend and I favorite restaurant out of the whole city. From the first time eating at the restaurant, the food will make your mouth water and like my mom use to say is “it must be good cause y’all quiet” Then the staff provided exceptional hospitality that made the experience ten times better and makes us want to come back for more, along with the food.
Now for the food, which by the way anything on the menu can be made gluten free!!! Making it gluten free you couldn’t tell the difference from gluten filled food. Our go-to food choices are: Charcuterie Board w/ gluten free bread 🤤, Green Spinach Ravioli*, Pancetta Mushroom Papparadella, Tiramisu, and Pistachio Cannoli. When eating this you can taste the freshness, all the individual ingredients, and the love & care they put into each of the entrees.
*Honorable mention entree: The Lasagna Bolognese👌🏽was an alternative to when the Green Spinach Ravioli, even though my girlfriend was devastated, but the lasagna did not disappoint our taste bud.
To wrap it up lol we will be coming back to be in foodie heaven again!

Food was delicious and they were able to make anything on the menu gluten free. My only issue, if you can even call it that, is that the servers didn't go into detail about the precautions they take when serving someone who is celiac. Just said there would be nothing to worry about and that I could order anything on the menu. Thankfully they were correct but would have made me feel better knowing that they have systems in place.

The gluten free pastas are amazing. I’ve never had a gluten free pasta that was unmistakable for normal wheat based pasta in terms of taste and texture. The pancetta was seated perfectly and the mushrooms were a nice addition as well. Highly recommended.

Great brunch. Just far enough from the theatre district that it's not slammed pre show. Quiet, intimate space, knowledgeable and relaxed service, great execution of food. Definitely some of the best quality for the value in the midtown for a high end brunch... The price is below average for midtown (entrees circa $20, cocktails for $11 which is a steal) and the food is serval notches up from the price. Had the Benedict and the breakfast risotto with jumbo prawns.

This restaurant will make sure you have a top service, everything on the menu could be gluten free. I’m talking of every type of pasta, freshly made, gluten free ! And it’s super delicious! Just 100% perfect experience! Thank you for an amazing dinner !

Not only is this one of the most delicious places you could eat, they have some of the most incredible staff, from maître d’ to chefs to anyone in their employ.
The level of care and attention was outstanding.
The gluten free EVERYTHING really made this celiac feel part of the real world. The prix fixe menu was an exceptional value, and their portions were substantial.
This is going to be my go to place for anything Italian in New York. I have been unable to eat at an Italian restaurant in decades, but the separate gluten free kitchen allows for more than any gluten free person can hope for.

When Bistango says they can make anything on their menu gluten-free, they are NOT KIDDING! I had gluten-free arancini and gluten-free spinach ravioli and it was genuinely one of the best meals of my life. I will absolutely be returning the next time I'm in NYC!

We stayed at The Kimberly Hotel because of Bistango. Our son has severe food allergies and I had heard of their knowledge and care to prepare a safe meal. They did not disappoint! We ate dinner there 3 times. Not only is the food both beautifully prepared and delicious, the staff and general manager are extremely kind, food allergy educated and helped us to immediately feel comfortable which is very rare. I had also brought my son’s food allergy dining card which they gave to the chef each time and I appreciated. We can’t thank Bistango enough for being a huge part of our incredible trip to NYC. To note: even my non allergic adult daughter and my husband were extremely happy to eat there 3 times. Bistango’s menu is that good! Highly recommend and hope to return.

Excellent! Good drinks. This midtown restaurant is on the corner of 29th and 3rd. The menu is diverse and not overpriced. I had salmon, which came with several sides for only $27. The atmosphere is rustic in an elegant way, if that makes any sense.

Both food and staff are second to none! We ended up eating here for all 3 nights of our stay in NYC as they were so professional around a gluten & dairy intolerance. Food tasted fantastic and the location & atmosphere were great too.

Came here for brunch. The place was pretty empty. The server was very accommodating. Their Chicken Parm is one of the bests I have had in my life!! Their tiramisu was also really good. Will definitely come back to try other pasta dishes!

Since 1988, Bistango has been one of the best kept secrets on Manhattan’s East Side. No longer a secret, Bistango’s reputation for providing appetizing gluten free Italian fare in a casual atmosphere has made it a reliable neighborhood staple. As soon as we sat down the waiter asked if anyone at the table had any food allergies or intolerances. When I told her I was gluten free, he explained that (whether it explicitly stated so or not), every single dish on the menu could be prepared gluten free, including pizza, pasta and more. OMG. I’m in heaven. I started the meal with two pieces of complimentary gluten free and dairy free bread, with garlic and oil to dip.

Great Food, Friendly Service. I went to Bistango with my mom after a long day in the city without a reservation. We were promptly greeted at the door and got in after a very short wait. The server was friendly and asked if we had any food allergies, which we don't, but I noticed a lot of gluten free options on the menu. The food came quickly, and it was delicious! Both my mom and I were very happy with our meals. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends, especially those that are gluten free.

Great!. My fiance and I were in for New Year's Eve and this was just around the corner from our hotel on 31st. Great food, quick service, awesome atmosphere and will definitely go back if we're ever in the area! The owner even came out and said hello to all the tables - nice guy!

This restaurant was great. Staff are extremely friendly and immediately as if anyone on the table has any allergies. You are given complimentary bread including gluten free bread which is one of the best that I've tasted. Meals were cheap and delicious, very good portion sizes. Don't leave without having dessert! Definitely recommend this place! Small, candlelit and welcoming!

This is an incredible restaurant , I would recommend it to anyone. The servers are very nice and helpful. The meals are very reasonably priced considering the quality of the food. The gluten free version of foods is amazingly similar to the original recipe. The venue is very family friendly and each table feels very private. This is definite must see restaurant if you are in NYC.

Wonderful!. I was in town this week with a friend of mine who cannot eat gluten at all. Not only was this spot a nice treat for her for some really good pasta but their bread was great as well. The thing I really appreciated about their menu is she could eat bread, have any of the pasta entree's gluten free and most of the desserts were also gluten free. This was a real treat for her and for me as well as their food was delicious. I will definitely return when in NYC.

Came Hungry, Left Happy!. This place is great! They have a great selection of GF menu items, and regular items as well. Our server was very knowledgeable, which made ordering very easy. If you are allergic to gluten, then you know how impressive it is to be able to enjoy all parts of the meal... bread, pasta or pizza, dessert and a nice beer to go with it. I would highly recommend checking this place out for their GF menu options or their regular menu as well!

Gluten free dream come true. While in New york I really wanted to eat at Italian restaurant. Problem was my Gluten free diet limited my option. Bistango Was great. The pasta was perfect the GF bread before the meal was a nice touch. The imported GF beer was very good. and the GF Cheesecake was the best I ever had GF or not. The rest of my party was not on a GF diet all were very happy with there food and the service.

The BEST GF Ravioli. AMAZING food wonderful welcoming atmosphere. My 8 year old son has a gluten intolerance he loved the pizza so much. Anthony the owner did something so special for him he gave him all the ingredients to make a pizza at home. Everytime we come into Manhattan this will be our restaurant.

Awesome Gluten Free Options. It was better than I read about! Wonderful GF ravioli with GF type toasted french bread and garlic/olive oil dipping sauce with GF cheesecake. Most of the dinner and dessert menu was GF!! Highly recommend!!!

Renovated and Back in Action. Bistango just went through a complete gut renovation and now has a soft/elegant feel that is homey as well. <br/>The owner (Anthony) greets you with a smile and remembers you every time you come in. The prices are moderate for the service and food that you receive. <br/>If you haven't been in a while, or ever I would suggest you check it out.

Bistango has great food & service!. I went to Bistango in December while in the city to see a show. We researched gluten-free restaurants ahead of time and came in to the city from Connecticut. There were ten of us. My daughter and I had to eat gluten-free. We arrived just as they were opening for lunch. The restaurant is cozy and friendly. The waiter was fantastic and very knowledgable about gluten-free eating. The menu was diverse and offered many different things. I ordered the Fusilli Bistango which was excellent. They even served us warm gluten-free bread!! We were so happy. We ended with gluten-free apple cobbler which was delicious. It was such a pleasure to be able to eat out safely and enjoy ourselves. We will definitely go back to Bistango next time we are in the city. It wasn't too far of a walk from Grand Central.
