Review Veniero's Pasticceria & Caffe - New York City

We ordered one mini cannoli vanilla flavored, one mini eclair, and one mini Napoleon. They were all great! Just what you need without going overboard. I don't really like cannolis but this one was good. I love eclair's and this one was good. I really love Napoleon's and this one was a little different from normal one. They have a sponge cake as one of or two of the layers. And it was soaked in liquor. Not bad but I would like to try to have one of their big ones if it's more like a classic ones. I'll have to check it out before I buy it. The staff were really friendly and the atmosphere is really cool and old school a lot like an old bakery I used to go to in New Jersey in the 80s.

Veniero’s Pastry is a historical place that has been serving delicious desserts since 1894. It is known for its cheesecakes, which are creamy, rich, and smooth. The cheesecakes come in various flavors, such as strawberry, chocolate, and more. The pastries are fresh, handmade, and beautifully decorated. The cafe has a cozy and elegant atmosphere, with chandeliers, mirrors, and paintings. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the service is fast and efficient. Veniero’s Pastry is a great place to enjoy a sweet treat with your friends or family. It is one of the best Italian bakeries in New York City.

Everything looked and tasted amazing! It was pretty busy for 8:30pm on a Saturday. Service was a little slow. But the overall atmosphere made up for the delays. The Mocha Espresso cake and Marble Cheesecake were perfect! Would go back to NYC just for these desserts!

Simply the best bakery and cafe in the city! Robert is a gracious host and his pride in ownership is apparent the minute you set eyes upon the beautiful storefront! The best cannoli and cappuccino you can get! I send everyone I know heading to NY there! Keep Rocking Robert!!

I'm usually not a dessert person, but now I'm a Veniero person. Veniero's Pasticceria is a gem! Their pastries are divine, with an array of flavors and textures that satisfy every sweet tooth. The charming ambiance and friendly staff make it a must-visit in NYC. A dessert lover's paradise! Going here after Sunday dinner on a rainy evening was a true NYC movie-ish vibe.

It was a beautiful bakery. I got a slice the Italian Ricotta Cheesecake and a creamy dessert called the Anatella. They have so many baked goods to choose fromthat it was almost overwhelming. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go again.

An old school Italian pastry shop with a huge variety of delicius cakes and desserts. Came for the tartufo, was not disappointed. Great for takeouts too, just need to order ahead around popular holiday celebrations.

Great place in little Italy to get Italian cookies. Stopped in and was pleased to see there was no wait. Got two different kind of cookies to try and both were excellent. Would recommend if you're looking for some sweet treats.

My coffee afogato was amazing 🥰 also my friend got a coffee samboca which was good. Mini canolis were so good as well. I will go back to try strawberry short cake!

I visited this bakery last friday, when I was in deep need of something sweet, i was greeted with a nice warm smell of fresh pastries and sweets. Dozens of sweets are displayed all over the counter and each one looks better than the one before, leaving you very indecisive and lost in the non ending sweets. as per usual when I’m lost by so many options, I always ask a staff member for help; staff was interestingly diverse, some of them were extremely nice and helpful some weren’t really as attentive and cooperative, i had to talk to at least 3 different members till i decided on what to get, I got a couple of each to try out different options and give a solid opinion about this bakery. I got: a pistachio cannoli a hazelnut tart an oreo tart Raspberry Rugulah Chocolate Hazelnut Cream Chocolate Finger Overall it was absolutely delicious and fulfilled my sweet tooth that day, especially with the cold brew coffee I had, amazing mixture together. But i will have to say that I’ve heard so much about this bakery that maybe my expectations were higher, this’s not to say that this bakery was bad, not their cookies and cannoli were perfect, especially the cannoli cream just perfection. But i’ll have to say, the tarts weren’t my favorite thing persay, so i’d stick with the cannolis and cookies. Next time I hop in this bakery i’ll have to try their cheesecake as i’ve heard it’s a true delight too! Would definitely recommend stopping by here and getting yourself something nice Forgot to mention that one of the employee treated me in a very nice one and gave me a sample to try from the cookies, very nice and friendly guy

Old School Italian bar vibes with a large selection of pastries, cakes and drinks. Tiramisu and cheesecake were good as well as the iced cappuccino with gelato.

This place has so many pastries cakes, and sherbet Ice cream. The mini pastries and nice bites sized and you can order a few of them to try different ones. They even have full size cakes and they can cater to parties.

Well it has been years since I made the journey back here. This location has the feeling of a real Italian coffee house. Let's admit though we are here for the pastries. Everything we ordered last week was fresh. From tarts to cake we had it Our waiter took our order but there was no rush. It was a bit hot inside but ok and the music ehhh all preference so overall just as I remembered amazing

Once you try one of their pastries, you will keep on coming back for more. I used their cake as a birthday gift in several occasions and it never disappointed me. Though their cakes are little pricey, but definitely worth it!

The pastries were soooooo delicious at Venieros! The sweetness was just right! I loveddddd the fruit tarts. They all tasted better than any tart I’ve had in my life. The rainbow cookies were to die for! The service was impeccable, super friendly. I also loved the ambiance. It was clean, the environment felt safe and I can’t wait to return.

Not crowded at all for 5:30 on a Friday. We were seated promptly. Service was great. Drink and dessert menu was full of tasty treats. Just a couple blocks/10 minute walk from Union Square.

Classic Italian pastry with a comfortable cafe for enjoying espresso & cannoli Buon Natale 🍷

This was the second time I went there. First time I did a take out and the pastries were really delicious. This time we did dine in. There was a long wait to get seated but the pasties are amazing. We ate there and also took cheesecake to go, which was delicious.

I just left this place to buy pastries. The gentleman who was helping me, was talking to another employee making remarks saying, you should see tomorrow (Mother’s Day) this place is crazy the line will be all the way outside (then laughing) not paying attention to my orders. They kept laughing on how busy it is (I’ve been to this place many times and this is not busy). When I went to the counter to pay, I mentioned to the lady at the register that it’s disrespectful to the customers to make comments such as what I heard. We are paying customers. She didn’t say anything. When I got my 3 boxes, I asked the gentleman which ones which because I’m giving it away. He opened one box and went to tie it back again. Now I asked the lady at the register if I could have a separate bag, she didn’t say anything, placed the box in the bag and pushed it towards my hand hard enough that the edge scratched my finger. And I told her that’s nice and I left. When I walked out my husband and son was watching through the glass window and asked what happened and why did she pushed the box as if to tell you to get lost. This place is never the same.

I’ve been coming here for years. The pinoles were as amazing as ever (5 for $8 but worth it). Both cakes 🍰 I had were dry. Both my friends were unimpressed. Disappointed 😢
Yvette Murray
I love this place everything is fresh and delicious and made with quality ingredients. The only problem is sometimes the line can be out of the door. It is definitely worth the wait.
David Jenkins
One of my favorite places - period, end of sentence. You can go there and for less than $10 see people from anywhere. Some are tourists, some are locals who have been coming here for generations. It's a jaw-dropping display of dozens, if not hundreds, of cakes, cookies, gelati, and good coffee drinks, or alcohol if you want it. Something for everyone. If you go after 9 on a Saturday night, there may be a line out the door. For best luck, go at off-times, like an afternoon or weeknight.

One of a kind, a truly great Italian pastry shop. So much is so good it's hard to know what to recommend.

The best cannollis ever!!! Love this place! Never complete a trip to NYC without stopping by Veniero's
Olivia Lanza Anell
Best bakery ever! Stop by when you're in the neighborhood. Try the strawberry shortcake, you won't be sorry!
Michael Mead
I love this place every time we come to NY we come to Venieros no matter how late it is the staff is Amy and so are the pasteries
Diane O'Connor
I have been visiting Veniero's for almost 40 years. Their pastries are always fresh and made from quality ingredients. Their minis are a great way to try a few treats. Sheer decadence! There is no better way to warm up on a chilly NYC day than to stop in for sweets and awesome coffee and cappuccino.
Daniel Fischer
The biggest problem about Veniero’s is what to eat. Absolutely everything tempts and everything I have eaten there has always delighted. Perfection. Always get boxes of pastries for family and just for the ride home.
Alyssa Caucci
Hands down amazing. Closest thing I've ever found to match the taste and quality of a classic pasticceria in Italy.
Kelly Moehr Kirchner
The best cannoli I have ever had!!! Purchased 2 chocolate dipped with vanilla cream. She asked if I needed a box and I said nope My son and I are going to eat them right now!!!! Walking down the street in nyc eating that cannoli was like heaven and a lot cheaper than traveling to Rome! Thank you so much!!!!
Jeff Cohen
Absolutely love this place. Iced Cappuccino is so amazing.

Bellissimo! Delicious homemade - Traditional Sicilian pastries baked with love and care. Veneiros is also a New York landmark. You just cannot visit New York and not go to Veneiros.
Bronson Miller
I love this place. I'm not from New York. I travel 2 hours from Pennsylvania to get my cheese cake and pastries. There might be better places to go and I'm sure there are worst places but, the service is great, the prices are fair and I'm never disappointed!!
Suraj Punjabi
This is the best desert Bar I have been to in New York. I loved the varieties if deserts they sell here. It is mouth watering and lipsmacking.
Ritik Babbar
Went while visiting family and lived it. Hot chocolate, tea and Irish coffee. We all had different desserts and shared. Wonderful selection with tons of options. Everything was good. We did table service but you can also stop in and get things to go.

Big Variety
.......... Delicious pastries and good looking cake.s........... It is clearly a full kitchen patisserie with a seated cafe and full service.......... Nice and welcoming staff.

Visited Venerio’s to get a birthday cake for a friend. I usually get the strawberry shortcake but this time selected the chocolate cake. Bakery was not crowded and staff took care of me right away. I also ordered two mini cheesecakes as well as a half pound of cookies.

That night we celebrated my friends birthday. The cake was not what I expected very rich and crumbled when cutting it. I should have bought the strawberry shortcake! The mini cheesecake were delicious as well as the cookies.

Visited this little beauty around midnight and it was still buzzing with people. Ordered the carrot cake, cheesecake and a chocolate based dessert(which I can't remember now). It was, hands down, the best cheesecake I ever had! A visual treat apart from being a dessert lover's paradise! I cannot wait to visit again!

Amazing variety. Very helpful staff. I got slices of cake to go. Chocolate mousse cakes and coconuts cake were incredible. .................

Came here on a recommendation from the bell boy at our hotel and it was spot on! Terrific desserts, g/f and I had cheesecake and cannoli and they were excellent! If you can check this place out.

Best desserts in Manhattan. Very "Little Italy" vibe, even in the EV location. Staff is always super-friendly and helpful, and are very tolerant of terrible American mispronunciations. Also, I cannot emphasize enough how good their pastries are.
Sumek Gopal
Tiramisu to die for and visual delight in terms of strawberry delicacies. This is a nice little European place tucked in on 11th street. We had a blast with strawberry cheese cake and Tiramisu.

I am a fan now!

Everyone knows that a birthday celebration would not be complete without dessert! We made sure not to fill up too much at dinner, so we could load up on sweets afterwards. After learning that Spot Dessert Bar had a 40 minute wait, we wandered over to Veniero’s, a snazzy, old school Italian pastry shop that has been in business for over 120 years. The smell of sweet baked goods hits you as soon as you step inside, and the pastry displays draw you in further.

The dessert menu is huge, overwhelming even, but after seeing the tartufo in the in the displays upfront, I had my heart set on it. A chocolate ball filled with vanilla ice cream with a maraschino cherry center seems like a good choice. It doesn’t look that big, but I would recommend sharing it. John had to help me after he finished his slice of apple pie. I wasn’t a fan of the chocolate shell (to be honest, it made me feel kind of sick), but the rest of it was quite enjoyable.

The only pastry shop that i go to here in NYC. Been aeound forever. I always, always order the pinioli. Pine nutty goodness. Always order extra coz u gonna keep wanting some more. I gove it a 5 score!

Veniero's is a cute little pastry shop and cafe that transports you to a different time. I have been told that it is actually one of the oldest Italian pastry shops in the United States. Although I have not yet tried the tasty treats they offer I can tell you that the coffee was great. It's a cute little cafe to meet up with a friend and chat in. I will definitely be returning next time I have a craving for some sweets!

The worst customer service ever !. This place has the worst customer service ever! I called to place an order for my daughters birthday cake and the woman who answered the phone was laughing and seemed uninterested in helping. She answered the phone saying "what do you want." And when I said I'd like to place an order, she said she was too busy to help and then instantly hung up the phone! Super rude! I've never experience such rude customer service in my life. She should be fired and replaced with someone nicer. I will NEVER attempt to purchase anything from here again & will be telling EVERYONE I know the same. Horrible horrific service. Get it together!

Ps. The woman working was on shift at 4:00 pm wedenesday afternoon.

Oh My God it's the Holy Grail of Dessert. Well we have been to New York many many times. Now it wouldn't be right to leave without some of Veniero's Pastries. One of the hardest things to do at Veniero's is to choose which pieces to have. You can't just try one piece of cakes, pies, tarts, or cheese cakes. I mean you look at the cases like a child in the best candy store in the world. The wife was asked by one of the doctors she works with to bring back a cannoli. We did and when he saw it was from Veriero's he said "Oh my god it a connoli but it's from he Holy Grail too" With that I'm not sure if this place isn't the best Pasticceria in the world. In our eyes this place is nothing short of the best in the world desserts.

Great bakery and have been coming for years. Recently, depending on the night and manager they may close 30 min before posted time...

Best Desserts and Pastries. These are the best desserts and cheesecake and pastries. Hands down. I always love going to Venieros for the connolis. Wish I still lived in NYC so I could make my weekly trip.

My last wish.... Is to have a slice of Veniero's Grand Marnier cake, and nice cappuccino.

Could there be anything better?

Average. The cannoli here are average.

30 Years of Deliciousness. We've enjoyed Veniero's wonderful Italian pastries and caffe' for at least 30 years. Everytime we go to NYC, we have to visit Veniero's for a cannoli and iced cappuccino. The iced cappuccino is simply THE BEST with a scoop of espresso gelato...someone pinch me now! On several desperate occasions, I've asked a friend in NYC to load up with Veniero's pastries and deliver them to Houston, TX. Upon arrival, we have an instant party celebrating the deliciousness that's been around since 1894.

Too bad there's not a Really, Really, Like it" button!! When I was young (in the mid 80's) my grandpa used to bring me cookies from here when he went back to visit family. It still wows me 30 years later. An absolute must for any trip to NYC!

Wow. Went here Friday night late after a dinner around the corner at Luzzo's and grabbed a mixed box. Literally stood outside in the rain eating every last bite of pastry goodness before even thinking about moving on to our next stop for the night. Cannolis, Pastry Cream tarts, Rainbow Cake tarts, Miniature Eclairs. All fanstastic. Hustle bustle to order.

Yummy in the tummy. We had a delicious cannoli topped with green colored pistachios, a perfect creamy cheesecake topped with strawberries, and a heavenly raspberry mousse tart /cake. All were scrumptious and savory morsels of Italian pastries.

Best Napoleon EVER!. Everytime I'm home I try to make a trip to Veniero's. Service is always impeccable. My favorite is the napoleon, others include the strawberry cheesecake, the NY Style Cheesecake. They do bake cakes 'specially for you for special occasions. You can pick on from the fridge or call ahead.
During the nicer months there is always a line out the door.
Definitely my favorite dessert place anywhere. Bar none.

You know the place is authentic when there's a photo on the wall of the owner with Frank.
East Village Vibe
...is really a treat. I’ve read great things about pretty much everything on their menu, especially the cheesecake. I recommend going early and often; they’re open from 8 AM to 12 AM every day (1 AM on Saturday) to satisfy every sweet tooth you’ll ever have.
The Regular Guy NYC
Photo credit – Veniero’s The Fat Man strikes again! After dinner not too long ago on the LES we decided to take a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood. My girl’s family actually grew up in this hood so we like to wander around and check out their old haunts. All of a sudden The Fat Man taps on my shoulder and points me in the direction of Veniero’s . Yes, I can’t resist so we decide to head on in. Just had to wait on line for a few minutes for a table. When is there never a line here? At least you get to view the gigantic pastry counter with all its wonderful sugary offerings. All types of pastries, cookies, and gelato flavors. We were seated pretty quickly and handed the menus. There is so much stuff packed onto it that the actual letter size is super small to fit it all on the pages! Went with a regular coffee and trio of miniature pastries each. Hey, I’m trying to watch my figure as summer is just around the corner! I’m not fat – I’m just a bit oversized! Photo credit – Veniero’

Veniero’s Pasticceria has been around since 1894, and has a large range of cheesecakes, cakes, pastries, biscuits and more. There is also a large cafe portion that is connected to the pasticceria which provides customers with easy seating after making their hard decisions at the front of the store.
I Just Want To Eat
Veniero's is the oldest Italian pastry shop in the US, opened and owned since 1894 by the Veniero family. During its long life, this East Village place has earned multiple awards and is said to be the best place for dessert in New York. This put the bar pretty high considering the multiple options the City has to offer. So I was very excited to try it and we decided to go after our lunch at S'Mac and right before seeing the movie Dallas Buyers Club with Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto (great performance from both by the way). When we arrived, we noticed the café adjacent to the pastry shop and decided to come back after the movie, to have some time to taste several pastries. So, chose promise, chose due (promises are made to be kept): more than two hours later, we reenter the place that is packed! I was so glad that I took few photos earlier. When you enter the place, you arrive in the pastry shop where I could probably spend an afternoon looking at these fantastic desserts in regu

We love Veniero’s! The cheesecake is so fluffy and creamy. We had to go back this time to get another 7″ New York style cheesecake. We ate half of the cake in bed at our hotel in the evening, and then saved the other half for breakfast. Cheesecake for breakfast is a great way to start a day in any vacations!

The selection is huge and fresh.

Your eyes widen, you can't help but smile. So many choices...so many glorious calories. Cheesecakes, cannoli, tiramisu, biscotti, fruit tarts, strawberry shortcake, Black Forest cake, Red Velvet cake, and pastries galore. Even gelato! The menu lists more than 60 desserts, made from scratch daily. There are even sugar, gluten and dairy-free items. Veniero's decadent desserts
NYC Style And A Little Cannoli
Finally getting to the East Village and the much-talked-about Veniero's Bakey for a visit to Italian Pastry Heaven.......hope you are not reading this on a empty stomach........ Window was decorated sweet and I loved the stain glass at the top....... Of course they have cannoli, but as you can see, chocolate and vanilla cream which I do not see everywhere. The cream is the "correct" cream as I call it, made with ricotta which I could eat alone with a spoon. I was delirious looking at these cases of pastry and there are quite a bit of them I had brought a cooler with me to be able to take items with cream to not worry about getting spoiled until I got home. You must come prepared when you visit a place like this. It is a must!! They make their own maripan, which is a confection made of almonds reduced to a paste with sugar & often molded into different forms, usually diminutive fruits & vegetables. Cookies galore are in the cases as well. I was really stumped as to what I was taking hom

We were in New York, so we had to try some classic New York Cheesecake. It was alright. The chocolate cake behind it was good too. I want to go back and sit down at this place to give it a fair taste test.

Veneiro's Pastry Shop, a relic of Italian cafe's past, founded in 1894 over 115 years ago here in East Village, would become our 7th food item on our hitlist today. It was approximately 2:55pm and 3 hours into our food binging New York experiment.
Yaokui
Veniero's is the italian pastry place where we keep going back for more tiramisus, strawberry cheesecakes, cannolis, strawberry shortcakes, apple pies, etc. Gan and I usually buy the pastries to go, but we also like to sit down and enjoy some pastries wit
AmyOnFood
While in New York City we tried some delicious pastries from Veniero's - regular and chocolate cannoli, hazelnut tart and fruit tart.

A brief search of my blog tells me I mention Veniero's quite a bit, but have never fully posted about it. This actually falls in line with my personality - when I really like something, I tend to want to keep it to myself. Okay, honestly, Veniero's enjoys
