Been there a few times. Sometimes it feels their beignet is better than cafe du Monde. They have almond dessert which is also very good. I also had gumbo. It was okayish.

Don't even bother going to Cafe Du Monde and waiting in that long line! This place is AMAZING! Alton Brown loved it and so did we! We waited like 15 minutes and worth it! Go!

Cafe Beignet is a lovely place to get your coffee and beignets in New Orleans. There is never any crazy lines wrapping around the place but the food is great. Of course the coffee and beignets are good they also have wonderful sandwiches as well. I've been here a few times and always keep coming back. Love this location.

Really great place, I enjoyed it. The architecture of the place was amazing. Also I got the Rick Krispy treats, was really good. Also I got some Beignet's they were really good for my first one I ever had.

The beignets were delicious and hot!! They also had a "ghost" piano, which made for a cozy and spooky atmosphere. Wish the bathroom (area) had a changing table.

Came here almost 30mins before closing time but the beignets we ordered were super fresh, fried, and doughy as if they had just opened. The menu said three came in an order of beignets but to our surprise we received four powdered pillows! Charming southern decor.

So you have made it to New Orleans and now you need your beignet fix until you see the lines and your enthusiasm for millions of calories wanes.
I have found the solution in that there are a few Cafe Beignet outposts in the Quarter without the really long line. This is not to say the short line was fast - they were as slow but still better than a long line. (Too few workers at the counter).
But the beignets are the real thing: crunchy gooey and plenty of powdered sugar. The coffee was thick but paired nicely with the treats.
Now proceed with the marathon you will need to run to work it off (they come in threes).

Live music on a Friday night. Food is good for a quick bite. Nicest part of this place is the little courtyard tucked away and the super clean and somewhat elegant looking upstairs bathroom.
