Best donuts in the Big Easy!
Great Service. I have recently moved to Lakeview and have went to Tastee on Harrison numerous times. Every time I have went the service was excellent and the employees were friendly. When I took my young daughter there the employees went out of there way to prepare something she could eat. I would recommend this Tastee locaton to anyone. Keep up the good work!
YUM. So nice to have kastleburgers within a mile of my house, they were delicious and i was pleasantly surprised to see the fries were hot and crispy :) on another note...the buttermilk drops are to die for!!! brownies and blackout cake is just as delicious as its always been!
Tastee's is delicious!! They have the best Kastle burgers in the world. I also LOVE the chicken tender basket with their DELICIOUS thin French fries. This is really filling and sooooo delish. It also comes with a yummy bread roll. My other favorite here is the buttermilk drop! They are soooooo delicios and warm and fresh. I would recommend the delicious buttermilk drop or apple fritter from one of the Many variety and choices of doughnuts. Don't forget a yummy cold refreshing jug of milk to wash down the delicious comforting doughnuts!!!!
It's the best thing to arrive in Lakeview! Everything Tastee has to offer ( donuts, pastries, Kastleburgers) plus much more. Great salads and stuff from the old mckenzies too. Food and desserts like an upscale cafe only at a great price. I'd recommend it for lunch with the girls!
The home of the one and only Kastleburger, often immigrated, never duplicated. This location also doubles as a McKenzie bakery for your donut and classic king cake needs .
McKenzies recipes still alive here! The buttermilk drops are too good.
I've tried a lot of beignets in NOLA and these are by far the best. The owner was super nice and the service was exceptional! I can't wait to return in November.

TASTEE McKenzies is a nice quaint place located at 901 Harrison Ave, NOLA 70124. The thing I love is you can go any time during operating hours and get bakery items, donuts and restaurant food.
The bakery items have some of the McKenzies favorites like turtles, petit fours, brownies, the king cake and more.
The Tastee donuts are so yummy. Apple fritters, chocolate covered, sprinkles, glaze, etc.
The restaurant has items like egg dishes, sandwiches, burgers and poboys.
Don’t forget to grab a cup coffee, espresso, cappuccino or tea while you are there.
There is also some seating available if just the smell when you walk in makes you too hungry to wait to get home.
I highly recommend this place. They have a great selection of items and very friendly staff.
Came in with my track team on a Saturday morning. They handled the bunch of us pretty well (and we were plenty hungry.) Friendly cashier. Donut holes were really good and pretty cheap. They had good seating in the back room for our small group. Parking lot filled up pretty easily though. Great breakfast stop overall!
Great donuts and treats. They have all of the old McKenzie's recipes and make several of their items. Butter milk drops are the bomb. King cakes are the old McKenzie style and flavor. Brownies and cinnamon rolls stre the old McKenzie recipe and great. Can't go wrong with anything from them.
Always good. Sometimes gets long lines but that's due to a busy shop with great treats. Good for New Orleans traditional specialties and some new favorites. Buttermilk Drops, old school brownies, eclairs, Blackout Cakes are as good as I when I was just a kid. The omeletts and egg, meat, and cheese biscuits are great and shouldn't be overlooked!
Tastee McKenzie's bakes classic Mardi Gras king cakes that are soft and absolutely delicious! They also create seasonal pastries decorated in purple, green, and gold, great for parades and family gatherings. While shopping, you can take a break with a tasty sandwich or salad, too.
Spooktacular Halloween cookies, perfect for parties! Donuts are delicious and moist with fun decorations especially for kids. But my favorite nostalgic treat at Tastee Restaurant on Harrison Ave is the banana coffee cake. Great memories and great taste.
Cozy neighborhood restaurant and bakery. Easy parking. Great for takeout, too. Big Burger is huge. Also has sandwich and breakfast options kids will like. Yum!
