This is a locals hidden gem restaurant that's you need to visit while in New Orleans. Meats are freshly cut and prepared just like in an expensive steakhouse when you order. Our pull pork sandwich was very tender and perfectly seasoned, the hamburger meat was fresh, perfect balance of fat and beef, topped with chimichurri and fresh pickled vegetables on the side. The owner did an excellent job not only explaining the concept of the restaurant and the menu but also making recommendations for local places to visit.

Meat centric plates. Don't go here if you are in a hurry. It's a one person show. He's cooking, serving, and clearing. We had steak and eggs, and the pulled pork sandwich. Both were rich in flavor and cooked properly.

We were headed to a different restaurant when a delicious smell caught our attention. So I followed my nose... It is a small, limited seating counter bar with beer and wine. The owner/butcher/chef is a one man army, whipping delicious food up from scratch. Be prepared to wait and watch as he takes everything from scratch and creates a delicious meal made from love. Ask about the "white sauce".

After eating so much at St. Roch market, my wife insisted we order some food to go at Shank Charcuterie as she heard good things about this place. Despite feeling uncomfortable, I had to take a few bites back in our hotel before food gets cold. I just have to say wow!! I'm all about flavors and value and the hamburger ($10) and black sausage sandwich (choripan $10) were among the best I've had. This is a must go place!! The burger patty was so fresh and their pimiento cheese definitely brought the extra flavor outta this burger. It's served with pickles that you can't ask for anything more. And their black sausage, which they described it as Morcilla but I beg to differ. It's a lot better! It didn't taste like typical blood sausage as it tasted more like meatballs but it's definitely the best sausage I've had in my life. Only regret I have is going to this place after St. Roch market. Next time I visit, I'll make sure to order everything else.

I've eaten here three times, had just about the entire menu, and EVERYTHING is amazing. Great cuts of meat, expertly prepared, and the sauces and accompaniments are all amazing as well. Super casual presentation, but this food wouldn't be out of place at the best of restaurants. (Have some patience! Everything is made from scratch and takes a moment! Chill out, it's worth it!)

Great little place for some simple but delicious meaty meals. It's a tiny little place with one guy, and the menu really just depends on what they have that day. We got to try the head cheese, and it was delicious!

The best little kept secret!!! Delicious food made by the butcher chef himself. I had the pulled Polk sliders and it comes as 2 and I couldn't fully eat it all. My boyfriend had the beef curry over coconut rice and I had some it was unbelievable. Heard he was the butcher to help open Cochon in warehouse district. The chicken curry looked good as well.

They have local goods made in-house. I absolutely love them! The entire menu is delicious, burger is amazing, chicken is the juiciest, and the pork sliders make me speechless. Plus their bacon is addictive. You have to check them out!

Oh my God, if you want top quality, mind-blowing meats, go to Shank. Its a butchery that serves cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. It's very rarely that you come across a place that reminds you of what truly amazing food is like. The meat is super fresh and the flavoring is perfectly put together. Everything that comes to your plate is put together in-house from scratch. I saw a batch of sausages fan-drying towards the back. Sit at the food counter and watch the owner-chef prepare everything for you slowly, with care and love, evident in the food you eat. BYOB and super chill vibe. Don't miss it!
