The carrier message is clear that this is a whale of a tale For your next dinner date! Take friends and coworkers and enjoy a great line up of sharable plates or geaux as big as a great blue and order an entree. You will enjoy the small quaint patio on warm evenings and sip away on refreshing cocktails.

the team was very attentive. food was good but a little pricey (spent over $800 for a party of 8).
had to call to make reservations because the max number to reserve online was 6. i had to provide all my card information because they would charge us $20 per person if we didnt show, which was understandable. but since then my card had been compromised.
i want this restaurant to succeed, but suggest to use a different method to reserve large parties to protect the patrons as well.

The food and service are beyond exceptional! Every detail is considered and planned perfectly. There is elegance mixed with humor in the decor, menu, service, and signage. The ambiance is pleasant, not overcrowded but a bit loud, as with many New Orleans restaurants. I highly recommend you try it! Go with a group and order everything! You won't be sorry but you will certainly be full and happy!

10/10 experience all around. The restaurant was packed on a week night. Our server was excellent. Vibes were immaculate. Cavier was delicious. Cocktails were amazing. And the food - incredible. No flaws. Can’t believe I’m discovering this restaurant so late in the game!

Fantastic cocktails and oysters, what more could you ask for?! Oh what about great service! Ishmael ran us through the menu of Negronis, gave recommendations, and made sure we had an amazing experience. I started off with the oysters, then got the octopus and lobster roll. Everything tasted really fresh and it felt like there was the perfect accompanying cocktail for each item. The nautical theme of the restaurant was also very cool, and it was a chill modern vibe. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back to go through their entire menu or just to sit at the bar and finish off the Negronis

So good. The lobster roll and squid ink pasta were amazing. Also got the mussels, and swordfish schnitzel. The details in the restaurant are cute. Didn’t order dessert but they looked picture worthy for their creative presentation. Will definitely be back for happy hour and to try the lemon cheesecake.

For a new restaurant, Pigeon and Whale operates very smoothly and fits in quite well with the upscale food scene in New Orleans. My party grabbed a reservation for the patio (inside was already booked up, but the weather was nice so it was no loss) and was seated immediately on arrival. The music was initially a bit loud, but the waitress had it adjusted without even being asked when she noticed, and another staff member shooed off someone who was smoking nearby- Even the patio is a no smoking area, which is good because it would have made dinner far less pleasant.
With solid recommendations from the waitress, we ordered a few of the negronis and one particularly delicious non-alcoholic blackberry cocktail to go with our appetizers (and a second round of drinks for dinner and dessert, which were delicious). We had the ceviche of the day, which was snapper and deliciously limey, and the special which was a white fish dip with grilled sourdough that we absolutely demolished. For the main course, we shared the grill octopus, some fantastic carrots, the fish of the day (salmon), soup du jour (butternut squash and corn), and the scallops which were cooked perfectly. It ended up being a lot of food for three people, so we shared a slice of carrot cake for dessert, but it was delicious.
This is absolutely a place I will return to on my next visit. Even the check was a charming experience, weighed down with an adorable brass octopus. I hope they continue being just as busy, and become the landmark they deserve to be.

My sister and I came to NOLA for a week of delicious food and sights. P&W was close to where we were staying and had good reviews. We decided to check it out and we were blown AWAY! Our server, Cat, was excellent and also really helpful in suggesting other places to try during our trip (and she was right about them!). We splurged and ordered a ton of items, including the caviar service, and every single course was inspired. We didn’t have dessert because we were too full! I cannot recommend this place enough.

MUST VISIT - Pigeon & Whale was an incredible experience for us while in NOLA. They went above and beyond for our party. The food was amazing with our highlights being the grilled mussels and octopus. Service was highly attentive and this restaurant will stand out to you with all the small attention to details in decor. Thank you P&W team!!! Look forward to visit again.
