As an executive chef I came to New Orleans on a trip specifically to find Creole food for research. Instead what I found was the best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico (specifically the carnitas). I also found an amazing back story of two amazing restaurateurs living the American dream. While you are in the city please stop by eat, drink a sugar skull, and ask about how this wonderful place came to be. You will not be disappointed with the food, the service, or the beautiful atmosphere. This place is a gem where you can taste the passion and love put into every dish. I never eat anywhere two days in a row. I will eat dinner here every day when I visit New Orleans from now on.
Just had dinner here . Food was beyond amazingly good. Me and family decided to give this place a try for the first time . Everything from the margaritas , horchata , Tampiquena plate , the México platter , all worth the try . I highly recommend this place and def coming back soon .
Stumbled onto this spot and just happened to be hungry so I tried it. There is a real Mexican feel to this place. The high bar stools were awkward at first thank I realized how comfortable they were. Bartender made me a passion fruit Margarita. Very clean environment. Nice vibe and fresh and tasty bites.
We stopped in to this place because it was close to our hotel, and unlike most food in new orleans there were options for me as a vegetarian. The atmosphere was great and we loved most of the music and the decor. we got the equites and it was amazing, and the tacos were great too! a few items were a little bland (rice, zucchini taco), but overall very good! the server was friendly but didn’t check in much.
Food, ambience, service was really good. The only thing I would like them to improve is their tables. I understand it's a small place so there are limited options for your seating arrangements, but the type of tables they have is not at all comfortable. You can't keep your feel in center comfortable, coz you might hit the center rod of the table and you can't keep it on the side coz the table legs come outward on side. This makes the seating really uncomfortable.
Having said that the food and the service was really good here. We went during their happy hour and had their house Margaritas which costed just $5, the server was really nice to customize the drink a bit for me for few $. Their corn is really yummy, we had the tropical and normal guac both were really good. We had the mix and match veg Tacos and the Tacos had potato filling which was really interesting and the tortillas were super soft and light. We had their veg quesdilla and that was also really delicious. All in all I am being nit picky but I would give them 4.5stars just for the furniture they had.
Authentic Mexican cuisine, vegan and delicious! We ate until we couldn’t move- 10/10 would do it again.
The food is soooo delicious!! The vegan and vegetarian options are also really great. There's definitely not a lot of restaurants that offer these options in NOLA.
We happened to walk by after walking through bourbon street on a Sunday on our way back to our hotel. We saw guac/ queso in the menu so decided to pop in!
The food was incredible. We ordered way too much. We didn’t regret a thing.
The place was clean enough, the service was quick, and loved the atmosphere.
The food was very good and the prices quite fair! The random pepper on one of our plates was insanely spicy. We like spicy food but maybe be careful when you’re not a fan of it. All in all a very nice experience in the heart of the French quarter.
Love this little hole in the wall Mexican place. The guacamole is *chefs kiss* but my favorite was the Barbacoa taco - if you've ever been to Cincinnati and have has skyline chili, you will understand why. It tastes JUST like it. The vibe was also super chill - low candle lit lighting - I can't end this review without also talking about the house margarita 👀 it was the bees knees.
The food is good. Little pricey vs quantity.
Some good items in the menu were not available, disappointed.
But generally speaking, it is good place to go.
My first time at Canada was great. I had the guacamole and chips and the elote (corn), both appetizers were excellent. The mixed tacos were very good too. I only wish they would come rice and beans like the other main dishes. But you can order side dishes. The margarita was ver good too.
