You want soul food in new Orleans, Anita's I the place. Can make a meal off the greens. Full of ham and smoked sausage. Smothered pork chop and the gravy are outstanding. Prices are very reasonable compared to overpriced French quarter places a few blocks away

Anita's was very good but the service was a little awful .. They forget items that we ordered and didn't provide a salad with the pork chop meal as stated on the menu.

We just had lunch at "Anita's Grill". Two omelettes and a heaping size of grits!!! Too much but good home-style cooking! And friendly staff!

Better since Katrina. Several people in my inner circle really love Anita's, I find it to be average. I have only had breakfast here and to be fair it's always been good, but just that, Good. They were open 24 hours prior to the storm and it seems they have renovated some which improves my overall opinion of the place. The portions are big and they will prepair any item to your liking.

Good for breakfast. I've only had breakfast at Anita's (when you can get in), this place is always crowded and don't let there be somehthing going on in the city such as Mardi Gras or Essence Fest, forget about it. But when you can get in you can get a good hearty breakfast for cheap. Cons are sketchy part of town, cash only, very small seating area and usually crowded.

Hash browns. I can only speak to the breakfast but it is delicious. The has browns are especially good. Probably the cheapest breakfast in town and hit the spot after a long night at Nick's, just down Tulane Ave.

Very good dive diner. This place does not impress from the outside. In a very broken neighborhood, it is also very rough on the outside. Shaded windows are uninviting. But my lunch was extremely good by dive standards. My two pork chops were perfectly seasoned, tasty and moist. My fries and has browns (big chunky, well-cooked kind) were perfect. tea wasn't bad. My friend's cheese grits were disappointing -- two slices of the shinny grocery store kind over warm grits to mix yourself. Catfish po boy was huge and decent. Not as cheap as some dives, but not pricey. Good service, and clean. Very little decor. May 2010.

Love Anita’s Grill…. been serving up some great food for over 100 years! I’ve been eating here since 2005 before Katrina and am SO happy Anita’s is still here. Home style Louisiana cooking at its best.

Great food and service. I’m glad we stopped here after our cruise before hitting the road to head home. There was 4 of us and the only seating that was available at the moment was at the bar or a booth so we sat at the bar. We all loved our food. No complaints. The ladies cooking and serving were so nice. We’ll be back next time we visit

Best pancakes in the world challenge. "WhoDat" said they gonna beat Anita's..? Sorry mama...I'll try my best to finish what's on my plate or order. Next time I'll order an omelet and hashbrowns...

Best pancakes I've ever had. They are like cracker barrel pancakes on steroids. Crispy edges, super fluffy, and super hot....like even when you're halfway thru the pancakes they are still hot. The hot sausage is a must too. Do yourself a favor and go all the way new orleans and bring your own steens pure cane syrup to go with them. I had folks jealous up in there ya heard me

While visiting New Orleans, I was getting a little tired of cajun and decided to try a comfort food/home cooking restaurant by the name of Anita's Grill that I found on Google due to the many positive reviews. Well, I certainly was not disappointed! The staff was super nice and our meals were very tasty. All the food is prepared in front of you on a tradition diner grill. I tried the smothered steak with fries and a side of grits. Let me tell you, it truly hit the spot especially when I needed it most. Again, the staff was super friendly to us and very welcoming. I highly recommend Anita's for your next lunch or breakfast.

The food was very tasty and the customer service was amazing. The place is very mom and pop. Also its cash only with the meals being on average 6-10 bucks so very reasonable. Breakfast for a family of 5 with beverages cost approximately $65. Not bad at all considering I'm used to NYC pricing. Definitely a good place for a breakfast. You must try the Hot Sausage, its homemade and absolutely delicious. The pancakes are wonderful as well and the steak and eggs super tasty. Will definitely be back.

This place is amazing omg . Love the aunties on the grill too! S/o to the Honorable Estelle, she was amazing!!! You gotta try the catfish sandwich on a bun and get some scrambled eggs w/ cheese on the side, top the sandwich & I promise you you will not be disappointed! I got the sandwich dressed w/o tomato bc I don't like them but it was still so good w/o it. Historical business that I will continue to support every single time I'm back home visiting my family! 💞

Always enjoy stopping here for breakfast whenever I'm in New Orleans. Food is always super tasty and staff is always pleasant and friendly. My omelet was perfect and pork chop was succulent and well seasoned. The waffles were good, and the chicken was on point. Please do not deny yourself the experience of wating here.

This place was so wonderful. This is a in the wall place away from the tourist stuff, the food is bomb and cooked by blessed hands. Estelle was amazing and funny, and made the experience fun. I would definitely come back here, Burbon Street and the French Quarters is cool but to get real southern cooking and hospitality come here, you won’t regret it !!
