Absolutely delicious Ethiopian food. We made this our first dinner stop up on arriving in New Orleans, and we are so glad we did. Staff was incredibly friendly, truly embodying southern hospitality. Giving great recommendations, both for the menu and for sights and attractions around New Orleans itself. Food was incredible, flavorful, filling, and delicious. A must visit especially if you're touring Magazine Street.

Took my daughter here to try something new, and she loved it! Hooray! 🎉She's a picky eater. The food is so delicious if you're open to trying different cuisines. - And the service was outstanding 😃

I had an absolutely amazing dining experience here! I had never had Ethiopian food before but it did not disappoint! My favorite was at the end my girlfriend and I had the baklava and Ethiopian coffee ☕️ right then I was in heaven!!! I live less than 10min from this restaurant and the only thing I was kicking myself about is that I hadn’t come sooner! I will be back! And if you haven’t been here go! Your taste buds will thank you 🙏🏽👏🏽👍🏽😎

An original of uptown since forever. The flavors remain consistent and authentic from Sambusa, to injera to Ethiopian coffee. all traditional, deliciousness. no fluff. We will come back and more frequently. Thanks for the experience.

I have eaten here on multiple occasions and all have consistently impressed me. This restaurant is unique to the area and it's atmosphere is very relaxed with respectable service. My partner and I do very much enjoy this spot and it's awesome Ethiopian food. We started with Veggie Sambosas that are perfect: crisp fried creamy potato and carrot. For our entree we shared the Lamb Wat which has just enough of a kick if you are looking for that slight heat.

I will start with a disclaimer: Cafe Abyssinia is not an experience for everyone. However, if you have been looking to explore new horizons in cuisine, this is a great place to expand with. I have yet to be disappointed by any of the meals. Personally, Lamb Alicha and Wat are my favorite, but Gored Gored and all the other options are great! I highly encourage this place, the service is good and the food is great. It may not look like much on the outside, but it's a great dining experience!
