The House of Blues Restaurant and Bar is a large venue with a capacity of eighteen-hundred. The entertainment is first class and every seat in the house is a good one. The bar is large, well stocked and with a great staff to get your drinks to you. Maybe best of all is the decor which is eclectic and definitely over the top. Just looking at the old billboards and pictures could take some time. This place is an experience you will love.
I paid a visit to New Orleans a few days back and after checking out the city all day, It was time for some beers, live music and grub! That’s exactly what I got at the New Orleans House of Blues!
I was served by a lovely bartender lady named Ace who gave me a fun and informative insight on the area and various places to visit before I leave! We talked for hours and had a blast! She is super nice so if you make your way there, make sure to tip her good! She knows all the cool stuff in the area!!
As for the food, the burger was fresh, hot and full of flavor BIG PORTION and crispy nicely seasoned fries to go along with my burger and beers! Their menu is full of delicious foods and great booze!
Outside of the House of Blues is the Voodoo Garden, make sure you stop by there too!
Overall, if you’re in New Orleans! Ya gots to head over to the House of Blues! For a meal and beers you’ll spend at least $30, but bring at least $50-$100 so you can get a good meal, tip the bartenders and tip the band that’s playing!
Support your scene! 😁
Restraunt is separate from the bar / voodoo garden area just fyi. And the Restraunt is only open a few days a week. Check the hours.
Bar food was good, we had lemon chicken strips, they were fairly skinning but man they were good and tender.
Drinks were good, I had a hurricane, and was pretty happy with it. But the bartender was nice and said he could make just about anything ... 😏
Great venue, big enough but intimate enough so that good views can be had pretty much anywhere. We saw the Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple )band, who were excellent. Beer was priced at similar levels to typical New Orleans bars. Staff were friendly enough.
What an amazing venue! We went the last Sunday of Jazz Fess for Kermit Ruffins and Rebirth and were not disappointed ! Very organized to get in, side note for the ladies purses are allowed- I had a small cross body just had to open it so they could look inside . At the door show your tickets , I had ours on my phone , you get a wrist band and are good for entry! 3 large bar areas on ground floor. Drinks are on the high side but not out of line for that kind of venue! We had a great time and can't wait to go back again to try the food !
Had a great time seeing Clutch! This was my first time at the HOB for a concert (we've eaten here and enjoyed the live music) and I was very impressed with the old school feel of the venue. Little confusing with the exit situation. 🖤
Great time at this historic venue, music was fantastic. Drink selection on low side but we'll enough to get by. All the service people very friendly. Can't wait to come back to town with another artist I know and visit again
The experience was very nice but, Be prepared to stand if you can't afford the seating.
We made reservations ahead of time but it wasn't crowded at all when we went. There is a beautiful interior section as well as cute outdoor section with music and bar. The live band was great, and they played happy birthday for my brother-in-law. The food was good as well, our waitress Jolie was the best. All of the drinks were good and well mixed. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone!
Very labyrinthine, maze-like interior, live music all the time, elaborately painted in classic New Orleans style. Staff is very friendly, and drinks are well made. It is definitely a place you want to include on your trip to New Orleans. Just beware parking anywhere in the French Quarter is atrocious, especially in the evening.
