One of the fine place for food in the city with a old history but remember you might want to order lot of food if you are hungry as the portions are very small.
But first lets talk about the location which is inside the windsor court hotel this restaurant is located at the first floor with a beautiful entrance doorman opening door for you light music playing at the background next to the restaurant as there is a bar . Since this is located close to river walk mall or behind the ceasars casino hotel its at the very quiet place so very good spot for talking with business clients and romatic dinner.
Food & beverage - great presentation but very small portion as we will see that in a photo i will post not great option for vegetarians except mushroom. When i ordered appetizers and maincourse i did not have any option so i ended up getting mushrooms both the time. The most disappointing food was scallops appetizer i would say our AMUSE was bigger than that.
Great selection of wines and drinks as expected in a fine dinning restaurant i would say check the wine menu at home if you wanna save your time. Fantastic dessert.
Service- service was excellent EXCEPT when my two other friends told our waiter that we will share the scallops he should have told us that its a tasting portion :D lol my friends ended up eating up bread twice to fill them up.
We ordered a nice white wine for $100 which waiter always kept an eye on us he poured wine and water always at the right time. Waiter was not friendly or interactive but he was very professional no doubt about that !!
The best touch of the waiter was little breakfast rolls which we got after we paid our check.
Atmosphere- beautiful lighting, nice view from the first floor, very comfortable chairs, white table cloth everything was spotless.
Hostess greeted at the door and very welcoming, carpets were very clean and soft.
Over all great place to go for a date and business meeting !
Stellar food, service and ambiance. I love my scallop appetizer and fried quails main course. My food was so amazing that I don’t recall what my companion ate. lol. If you’re in New Orleans, you must check the Grill Room out. It is fine dinning at its finest.
By far the best meal of our New Orleans trip. Kimball is a delightful server. He excelled in every category! Beignets were perfect. Light fluffy and served hot. Two egg breakfast was prepared perfectly to our specifications. Coffee was perfect. I can’t rave enough about our brunch. Our meal was an experience to treasure!
Came to this beautiful hotel to eat at The Grill Room a few days ago and everything was amazing. The decor was beautiful, our server was really nice and the food left me speechless. I had the eggs benedict w/ grits and a mimosa. Everything was just perfect..I can’t wait to visit New Orleans again just to go back.
Ambiance and service were great. The food was ok. It really needs a side dish with your small main protein course. I had the sea bass, and it wasn't impressive.
It simply does not get any better! Recently had a small event for a friend at the Grill Room and it could not have been more perfect. You would have thought we were personal friends of the staff they were so kind and thoughful. Our server went above and beyond!! We had a wonderful Champagne and some of the most incredible desserts. Everything was absolutely perfect! We have been to the Grill Room several times and find it consistently excellent. The food is made to perfection with perfect portions and service impeccable! I also love the adjacent Polo Club and it is definitely a local favorite. House in the Beautiful Windsor Court Hotel - It is worth crossing the street from the french quarter to try when you are in town.
Lunch at The Grill Room is always a wonderful experience. The team waiting on us were superb and the food was delicious. (As usual) I have never been dissatisfied with a lunch at The Grill Room. Huge thank you to Kenny and the other members of his team.
We dined at the Grill Room for lunch and two breakfasts. Helen, the hostess, was gracious and remembered our name the next day for breakfast. Sara, the waitress, kept our coffee topped off and remembered that I liked the beignets.
The Berries and Yogurt and Acai Bowl (with acai sorbet) came with Greek yogurt, a generous amount of delicious granola and a lovely number of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. They were very substantial and filling.
We liked the beignets better than Cafe du Monde.
For lunch, we were impressed with the $25 special which features a main dish with a choice of three sides. The large number of sides all looked so enticing that it was hard to choose. I got the shrimp with beet walnut salad with ricotta, soup du jour, and truffle macaroni and cheese. All the dishes came arranged on one large square plate in smaller plates or bowls. It was like having a hardy tasting menu. The truffle macaroni and cheese and beet walnut salad with ricotta were my favorites. The Grill Room also makes a most excellent Lemon Drop martini - smooth with just the right balance of sweetness and tart, no strong alcohol taste but the effects do sneak up on you by time you start your the second drink.
The ambiance of the restaurant with the windows overlooking the courtyard with the view of the St. George statue and ivy covered walls shaded by the lovely green, delicate leaves and the elegant setting inside with the paintings and smooth tablecloths makes a wonderful breakfast, lunch or wonderful place to celebrate or to enjoy a date.
Went there for brunch with a girlfriend of mine and honestly we thought the portion sizes were small. But it truly was the perfect amount of food! Will come back, and the prices were great, even the lemon drop martini was delicious and not over priced
Service and food were both amazing. My wife and I both loved it. From the bread, best ever, to the entrees everything was beyond expectations. My wife beef rib parpadela and I had the deep far dried quail. Speechless.
