Man, where do I start with Daisy Dukes? This place exceeded all my expectations. Granted, they were low when I walked in but I genuinely was blown away that a place like this exists.
To sum it up, think Waffle House but with a bar. That sounds amazing, right?
A friend and I were looking for a cheap quick bite. The sign outside advertised diner food so we walked in. We were greeted and seated by Sarah who was also our waitress. She was awesome. She pronounced my name correctly from reading it off my card. Hardly no one gets that correct.
I ordered a breakfast that consisted of pancakes, scrambled eggs, hash browns and sausage. Since there is a bar, I paired my meal with a rum and coke (with lime of course). I opted for the well rum because why the heck not? I was pleasantly surprised at the smoothness and drink ability of the well rum.
The pancakes were fluffy and had that griddled crisp I like around the edges of the cakes. The eggs were scrambled perfectly and I had no complaints with the sausage and hansbrowns.
Overall, if I was in New Orleans again and wanted some diner fare, I’d totally go back to Daisy Dukes.
Great quick bite food. Our first night, there was an extremely rude customer who harassed the night manager. When I returned, she recognized me and asked me how I was and how the rest of my party was doing. I told her we were fine, and asked her how she was. She was apologetic for an issue that was completely out of her control. The food is delicious. The staff kind. I highly recommend their gumbo and po'boy combo.
Wow. Food and service were 5 stars. We were definitely not disappointed in any way.
The staff were so friendly, they cracked jokes and remembered us both times we went. The food was a chefs kiss, so flavourful and, most importantly, memorable. The first time we went for supper we had the jambolaya and crawfish ettoufee. Both were extremely tasty and comforting and great introductions to New Orleans food. We returned for breakfast, my boyfriend had the burger and I had the pancakes. Both were great!
I highly recommend and would definitely return if I'm in the area again.
The food here was delicious! I was touring New Orleans and this was a great spot to eat at that was away from the craziness of Bourbon Street, but still close enough. The service was incredibly friendly and fast and the fried oysters and fried shrimp were great! Definitely recommend this place if you’re able to grab a table!
This review is coming in hot… still sitting at the table. Understand that when I tell you that you need to come here, I am not playing any games. The food is OFF THE CHARTS. The shrimp and grits has to be the best in the city. The Bloody Mary is bottomless and delicious. Crawdad in the Mary really ties the drink together. Pamela is the best server in the world as well. Go here. Just do it.
Two months late in posting my review:
We stumbled across this restaurant by accident...and boy am I glad we did!! The service was top notch and the food was amazing!! Sooo good that we decided to come back for lunch again the next day. Both meals we ordered were so good! We will definitely come back to dine in when we visits New Orleans again next year.
Must try breakfast from daisy dukes! It was our last day when we were told about this awsome breakfast 1 block from our hotel. I would absolutely go back. The service was just great especially during Mardi Gras. The service was incredible. The food was very good and was exactly what I ordered. The drinks were perfect and the coffee was very good also. This is a must try little restaurant when visiting New Orleans.
We are brunch here and absolutely loved it. It’s a small cafe with plenty of menu offerings. I am very picky about my Bloody Mary’s and I loved theirs. Aleks was our server and offered great customer service. We were greeted both on our way in and way out. If you’re looking for great, authentic food, I highly recommend this place!
First time trying this place with my wife who recommended it because she loves the gumbo. I had the blackened grilled pork with red beans & rice and a side salad. The pork chop was cooked to perfection, very flavorful, juicy and tender. The red beans had sausage in it that took the flavor to another level! I would definitely go back .
This was a excellent find. We enjoyed our breakfast so much and although we said we would try a different place every time we eat we may have to make an exception to that rule. We ordered the Cajun omelet, the brunch burger and the 2 egg breakfast with pancakes. Omg everything was cooked to perfection. The omelet was perfect nice and fluffy and the correct amount of cheese and the home fries are top tier. The 2 egg breakfast was standard but cooked perfectly - the star of that plate was the homemade biscuit. Do yourself a favor and have one. That brunch burger was amazing. Couldn't have been better and the fries that came with it were excellent. Daisy Dukes is officially on our must have in NOLA list. Thank you for the hospitality 😊
If I could give 6 stars, I would!! We were going to go to the Hobnobbers, but walked right out because it smelled weird and was really small and moreso a bar than a sit-down restaurant. I am SO GLAD we did!! Daisy's was amazing!! First of all, it was clean and open, plenty of space, great music, and the service was impeccable. They seated us right away and were so kind and welcoming. The food came out fast and it was hot and fresh. The Gumbo was delicious, and my half alligator sausage po-boy was PLENTY for one person. It was so good!! Drinks were BOGO free and stiff! We can't wait to go back, but they are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so we have to wait.
JUST GO!! And try the GUMBO!!
The food was amazing!! We had the pork chop and biscuits and gravy they were delicious! The 2 of 1 Mimosas were the perfect way to top off the meal. I would like to say the best part of the experience was the staff. Juliana was our waitress and she was happy, attentive, and quick. Overall great experience I will be back!
