Small neighborhood restaurant and bar selling all the southern classics you'd expect. I'm actually ashamed that I've been in the area multiple times over the years and I don't think I've had more than a beer @jazz fest from here. I'm glad I came to my senses. Ordered their BBQ shrimp poboy and yeah, it's the favorite for a reason. It seemed like most people were getting the same thing, although I did see several bowls of gumbo go out. I had a couple Abitas at the bar and watched the Steelers destroy Cincy, good times. It's popular and they were able to feed several large families plus the bar efficiently. The staff is fun too, joking with me and the regs.

This place definitely holds up to its reputation. Get the Gumbo and Poboy combination, and Fried Green Tomatoes!

We ate at all kinds of places and prices while in NoLa and Liuzza's is definitely our top to top 2 place of all the places we ate. The gumbo is hands down our favorite. Savory, thick, packs a super punch. Etouffe was great, crawfish soft, tried and really liked the duck tenders, and the shrimp po'boy was great. What made it amazing is the sauce. OMG the sauceee! best ever.
The ambiance is chill. Crowd is varied, service was prompt and friendly and prices are definitely reasonable.

The signature dish is the bbq shrimp po’boy. The barbecue was not what I was expecting, just soupy on the plate with not much sticking to the shrimp. At least the bread was there to sop it up, but I wouldn’t order it again. I would, however,
get the fried oyster again! The peach bread pudding was yummy, but I wish servers would mention when there is alcohol in the sauce. I scraped it off because I hate that whiskey taste. Apparently it’s a thing that at 6 PM Jeopardy comes on the TV, and everyone watches. I got the final jeopardy right, so it was all good.

I came here for lunch after a trip to the museum close by. This is definitely a spot that you should try and believe me when I say, try the barbecued shrimp Poboy. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it is not what you think. It was absolutely delicious and I am so glad that I followed the menu’s recommendations. I also had a very, very nice server that engaged with me and provided recommendations. This is very high on my list to share with other people visiting the New Orleans area. I will most certainly be back in the future.

Went there on a Monday afternoon around 1pm. There was maybe a 20 minute wait for a table of 3. It was definitely worth the wait.
You can eat at the bar or wait for a table. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We ordered some fried green tomatoes for the table and I had the cup of crawfish etouffe and a half garlic softshell crab Po Boy. The garlic softshell crab was amazing. I love garlic so it was perfect. The crawfish etouffe was probably one of the best things I ate on my trip to New Orleans.
It is really a neighborhood restaurant. I did not see any other restaurants in the area and it was surrounded by homes. We were able to find street parking next to the restaurant. There are TVs in the bar. There were sports and reruns of Seinfeld on when we were there.
I really want to go back and try everything else.

Wow, a go-to local diner. Everything was 😋. A mixture of local and tourist dining. You've got to try their iconic bbq shrimp poboy and the duck finger appetizer. A few local draft beers available.

This is just one of those places that you should eventually visit. Sooner would be better. It's a quintisential New Orleans institution that has proven itself for decades. Everything here is excellent. We should all be so lucky to have a place like this in our own neighborhood. Parking may be a challenge, but don't be discouraged.

Liuzzas is a small restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. It had been hard to find somewhere all 4 of us could be happy to eat. I received a lot of praise for picking Liuzzas. My sisters and I all wanted to try a poboy and gumbo, and they have a 1/2 poboy and cup of gumbo special, so we didn't have to split it to try it! My BIL was happy to get an oyster poboy (which I was scared to try, but I have to say it is good) and gumbo. I got a roast beef poboy that has real roast beef, not the deli slices, and the seafood gumbo because of the reviews I read. I dont really like shrimp, but the way they cook it makes it melt in your mouth, and I'm 100% getting it again. They have a wine and beer menu but not a cocktail menu. If you ask for a common drink, they just make it for you, no problem! I highly recommend getting their margarita. You know the place is good when the waitstaff are in regular clothes and they dont need to write down your order to get it right! Our food was ready so quickly we were all surprised. This is the most affordable restaurant we've gone to, and by far, it is our all-time favorite.
