We always make sure to stop here when we are in New Bern! The food is creative, high quality, and delicious! We have never been disappointed by the food or views. Their drinks are all named after books too, so creative!
The only downside is that you can't make reservations for outside, but I completely understand why, so we just plan ahead and put our name in ahead of time!
Great restaurant on the water. The atmosphere was great. The service was excellent. The food was pretty good but would have had less peppers and more calamari on the plate. This is definitely not enough to share as an appetizer.
The cauliflower was pretty good as well.
Eating here this evening was definitely a surprise! I had not had great experiences in the past but this restored my faith in this beautiful restaurant! I will have to come back since I couldn’t order everything I wanted off the menu at once! 🤩

I can see why my in-laws enjoy this place. Every couple of months they drive the 45 min to and hour to come here. It was charming and the food was good. My only complaint was that based on the descriptions, I would’ve thought their would been amazing flavor to make the dishes come alive but it just wasn’t there. Not bad at all, but not good enough for 5 stars.
It was on our friends' must-stop list, and now we know why! They weren't busy on a Thursday night. Perfect atmosphere to watch the sun go down and have drinks and dinner with those you love. Grouper was delicious.
This was the first time I've been to this restaurant. My cousins treated my mom there for her birthday. The food was delicious and our waitress was great. The scenery is gorgeous. It is a treat, so if you're in the area I highly recommend it!
We arrived at Persimmons Waterfront Restaurant after a long-awaited ordeal. We've made reservations 2 prior times and had to cancel due to inclement weather. It was well worth the wait! Our server Trey was very cordial. The timing of our dishes was adequate, with everything being the appropriate temperature.
The steak frites on a bed of arugula you can see were lacking onions, and the potatoes pave could have been a little more tender, not as firm as served. I couldn't eat them. The skirt steak was tender. I enjoyed the Caprise salad, although the cheese was not to my liking. I generally have a slice of mozzarella. The sweet corn puppies on a bed of pimento cheese were fried a little too hard. The brusssel sprouts were wonderful. The salmon and grits were fine. The blackening of the underside was thick. The virgin strawberry, lemonade, and rosewater drink was a hit!! The outside and upper deck were closed😔

Nice waterfront dining location. Great views. Friendly and quick service. Enjoyed the fish tacos. The hush puppies were very tasty but slightly undercooked in the middle. Extensive drink menu. Kid's menu. Overall, really enjoyed our meal.
Took a day trip to New Bern and this was at the top of my list for lunch. I sat on the back deck and was grated promptly, my server was great throughout and made the experience very enjoyable. I had the Fish & Chips and it hit the spot. Crispy but not overdone, and not greasy at all. This is a must-try if you're stopping through or taking a day trip. Will be back.
