My husband and I had a couple drinks and a late night (7:45) meal on the rooftop on Friday. We ordered the mussels for our appetizer. They were "mildly spicy" just as our waitress (Anna) had indicated-which was fine. I can't handle anything too spicy and these had just the right amount of kick, but not too much. For my entree I order the Seafood Pasta on the recommendation of Anna. The menu description:
"clams, shrimp, fresh fish, fettucine, white wine garlic sauce"
(I've had "Fettuccine in a wine garlic sauce" many times, many different restaurants. It's my go to.) I get my food and notice right away the sauce and overall color is orange-ish, not white as menu indicates. Hmmmmm. After one, two bites I know why. It's hot (spicy) as sh!t. I'm crushed...not wanting to complain and be THAT kind of patron. I try eating more...nope, not happening. My lips are burning and my nose starts running. I politely tell Anna I can't eat this and ask where on the menu does it indicate this is a "hot/spicy" dish? (Why would she recommend this knowing I can't do spicy? White garlic sauce is not supposed to be spicy??!?) Anyway she's very nice about it, I change my order to the Lobster Mac and Cheese. They were very quick about getting my new meal out to me so I could eat with my husband. The manager brought it to me. Matt? I think. He was so nice. Apologized about the spicy food, said we wouldn't be charged for it. Offered us a free dessert if we wanted. (I actually think the cook made a mistake with the fettuccine dish - explains a lot). My husband had the Filet Mignon and it was absolutely delicious. Cooked just as ordered. Why 5 stars? Beautiful setting, attentive waitress, very nice manager. Conflict resolved. Food (eventually) was super yummy. Overall simply a great experience.
Got seated at the rooftop at sunset! “Late night date night” which consists of, 50$ for a bottle of wine , 2 giant steak dinners, appetizer , and dessert! So good and a great deal! Highly would recommend. Our server was great too!
We came here for a drag show brunch, at the invitation of a couple of friends who had extra tickets. We have been wanting to go to drag brunch for quite a while, and this was a great opportunity to do so.
The staff at the door were great, welcoming and friendly. We got our tickets, gathered, and waited for the doors to open.. once they did, we made our way up, seating near the windows in a sunny, warm spot. The staff took our order quickly and brought drinks, at which point the drag show began and we were enthralled by the magnificent performances.
The food was pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. Worth the price, and definitely filling!
We enjoyed the atmosphere, with the natural light filtering through the lovely glass canopy, the performers energy all around us in the form of their dancing.
We hope to come again soon for another show!
I made reservations here to grab food and a drink before a comedy show. I was so excited to give this place a try. I entered the turnstyle at street level and upon entry was met with a gas smell, not a great first impression but I proceeded. Got checked in at the kiosk and was directed to a clunky, noisy, scary elevator which I took to the rooftop where I checked in at another kiosk. I was seated immediately and service started right away. Drinks and appetizer came out in a timely manner and were very good. Upon finishing the appetizer we placed our meal order. Everything came out hot and tasty. Even the pesky gnat flying around wanted some of that delicious food. Makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. Anyway, I decided to make a stop in the bathroom before leaving and noticed the bathrooms were as outdated and dilapidated as the elevator. For the price of dining here, it seems like some of that money could be spent on sprucing the place up a bit. It's probably a good thing that environment is very dimly lit.
Great rooftop views. Attentive staff. Well created meals and drinks packed with flavor. Always a consistent experience.
Amazing atmosphere provided during the Solar Brunch. A well oiled machine of a service, delivering food and drinks with efficiency. The performers were on point (watching the support staff was an entertaining show all its own). Most of our group enjoyed their meal and I recommend the Rose' sangria pitcher.
Came here for the first time for the rooftop brunch and it was SO MUCH FUN. The food was pretty good as well! I ordered the blueberry pancakes and greek yogurt. My friend ordered the skillet and truffle fries. Everything came out relatively quick considering how busy it was. Expect a longer than usual wait but there’s ALOT of people who come to the brunch rooftop on Sundays. Server was super friendly and accommodating. Really loved the bottomless mimosas! I would definitely recommend coming at least once on a really nice day. The vibe is amazing. Plus they have a live DJ that plays music the entire time.
You can’t beat an 80-degree day in mid-September for a Union Rooftop dinner! My sea bass was delicious and they got us out in time for our show down the street. Great service by Cahner!
The brunch shows are always fun at the Union Rooftop. They offer bottomless mimosas, a decent food selection, and a variety of cocktails. The service is fast and efficient to ensure you get as much as you want to drink before the show ends. If it’s your first time there, I’d recommend earplugs in case you end up being sat near a speaker. The music is incredibly loud. If you’re attending in the summer months, be sure to bring sunscreen as there is no shade.
First time there to eat on the roof top. They said we couldn’t get a bigger table because of 4 tops but others were seated as 2 tops so kinda disappointed in that wanted to watch traffic.
Our server Molly made up for the table she recommended nothing but good things.. we started with calamari, which was so crispy and fresh it was delicious with the fried peppers, then my fiancé got the Wagyu burger with truffle fries could of had more truffle on them. He said the burger was delicious and he finished the whole thing for my entrée. I had the roasted beet salad with goat cheese, and I had buffalo cauliflower wings. The wings were really spicy could have been crispier. The salad was good I didn’t like how everything was mixed together and dressed maybe next time I go, ask her not to be dress it, but it was still really good and then for dessert got the Choco Tres leches. Which I didn’t eat till the next day and it came with a little side of chocolate milk you put on top and it tasted like Oreo cream cake it was very good.
Giving it for service because of parking, and the fact we couldn’t get a table close to the edge other than that would love to go back for brunch

The rooftop restaurant is amazing as you get really nice view. Minneapolis is cold and it was 30 degree in the evening but this place can offer both felling to be outdoor and be in cozy place.
Attended the business get together at this place. You can hire full place for private events. There is bar on the rooftop. The service is amazing and staff is very nice.
The bonus point for the the food. It was so good, mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Loved snacks with mushroom, cabbage and cheese.
The place is accessible and there is elevator for the rooftop. Washrooms are nice and clean.
This place has amazing food and a unique atmosphere! We came here for brunch and were not disappointed. The prices are a little higher but you definitely get what you pay for- excellent food and lots of it! It was chilly outside but was very comfortable inside the "dome." We had a great view of the city and the staff was efficient and friendly. We will definitely be back when we visit Minneapolis again!
