Great food in a casual atmosphere! We sat at the bar on a Sunday night; it was a very relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a conversation. I started with the Ricotta and crackers; it was fantastic! The ricotta paired perfectly with the mostrada resulting in an exquisite taste. I got the Saffron Rice and Chickpeas for my entree. The crispy rice gave the dish perfect texture and the flavors were bright. The potatoes were very good; they were very crunchy and filling!

8-19-23 - I took my wife here for her birthday for the tasting menu as we had never had any course menu before. This is our first time here and we were really excited, and they did not disappoint. All the food that came out were flavorful and wonderfully displayed. The atmosphere was great, and service was top notch as they explained every dish that came out. The food that caught me by surprise was the fritter, I was expecting something and it was better that I expected. The dish that I wanted more of was the Bison Carpaccio. The main course tasted wonderful, that sauce to the beef was really good and the Striped Bass was great with all the flavors. The desert was really sweet but was a great ending to the experience. Overall, Great experience and great food. Will have to come back to try the Cafe.

Wow. My husband and I went to Cafe Alma for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We really loved the atmosphere, the food/drinks and the service was great. The menu changes every 5-6 weeks but this was our seasonal menu. The warm garlic flan was amazing. The portions, though typical small due to this type of plated service, were large enough to be comfortably full by the end of the meal. My husband had a daiquiri and an old fashion, and I had a N/A Melon Shrub drink and tea. Finished the night with a delicious cappuccino. Everything was fantastic. There was a 21% surcharge but I didn’t mind paying it, knowing it helps out their staff. They didn’t have a tip line so we left the cash we had on top of it because we had a great experience.

Wonderful dining experience at Alma with their latest seasonal menu. Dishes were balanced, beautifully presented, and well thought out. We loved the old fashioned cocktail! Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to celebrate a special occasion.

Very cute cafe! Enjoyed the location and atmosphere of this place. The staff was also very friendly the day we came here! The restaurant itself was packed and we didn't want to wait to sit down that day so we just ordered coffee and left. But still had a great experience The coffee they make looks and tastes quality. Highly recommend checking out!

Came in for lunch on a Friday. Could not believe how busy it was! With so much going on, and my first time here, it was not clear what I should have done. Fortunately, I saw an open spot and the bar and took it. Then I ordered and paid through the QR menu. I appreciate QR menus, but you completely lose all semblance of human interaction. Time and place for that, but I like talking to bartenders and the servers making sure everything is okay. Fried chicken sandwich may be the best in town— absolutely loved it. Marinated beets were a nice side and the Sorghum Old Fashioned was wonderfully balanced. I would definitely go back, just recommend a host(ess) stand or signage for better guidance.

We had our wedding at Alma in Sept. 2023. We did a full buy-out of the space and cannot emphasize enough how amazing of an experience we had with the Alma team, especially Gabriela. Our family was able to stay in the beautiful boutique hotel that was located in the building—they enjoyed an amazing breakfast each morning in the cafe (also had the option to dine in-room), and are still dreaming of how delicious the breakfast bacon was! From the moment guests arrived at our wedding, they were greeted by the most attentive, friendly and professional staff. Our ceremony took place in the private rooms, with beautiful exposed brick and a full wall of windows as the backdrop. Guests enjoyed delicious passed appetizers (such as hamachi crudo, fresh ricotta & herbs, and more) and top-notch champagne, wine and curated cocktails (such as French 75, Rob Roy and many more) during the cocktail reception, and a 5-course meal that was so delicious, creative and high-quality, that months later, our friends are still raving about it! We live in NYC and had guests fly into Minneapolis from all over—even the folks who are used to the quality restaurants in NYC, London, Dubai and Qatar were impressed with how delicious and innovative everything at Alma was! The flower arrangements that Alma made were stunning, and every detail down to the event programs and personalized menus, topped with a hand-crafted Alma caramel—was all perfection. The space was beautiful, the candle-light ambience at dinner was romantic, and our guests enjoyed the option of being able to hit the dance floor or hang out in the cafe area and have cake, coffee, and espresso martinis after dinner was completed. We received countless compliments from our guests about the beauty of the space, the delicious food and drinks and the top-notch service. Huge thank you to Gabriela Seidel, events manager at Alma, for going through every step of the planning process with us and for executing perfectly. Her hard work, attentiveness and passion to make sure we had the best event possible truly gave us a dream wedding. We cannot recommend Gabriela enough, she is an absolute STAR!!!! Huge thank you to Cam, at Alma, who worked with us on the beverage menu for the event and personally bartended and made some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had! Cannot recommend Alma enough. Whether it’s for a quick coffee & pastry, or a delicious brunch or dinner, it is all excellent. Full buy-out or private room would be great for a corporate or personal event—anything from formal dinner to cocktail reception. Full buy-out for your dream wedding with top quality food and drink, excellent service, and ceremony, cocktail reception, dance party and hotel on-site—Alma is the real deal. Hosting an event at Alma was an outstanding experience from beginning to end. The layout of the space created a fun, welcoming environment. The staff were exceptional. They were friendly and provided outstanding service. The brunch food was delicious, especially their pastries and salads. The cocktails were expertly crafted with great presentation, the Bloody Mary was everyone's favorite with the fresh squeezed mimosa coming in a close second. I'd highly recommend this place for an event, a cup of coffee or anything in between.

I was here for a baby shower and there was an area reserved that was perfect for the occasion. The food was buffet style, consisting of pastries, pasta, bacon, eggs, and other brunch-style foods. And it was all so delicious. The service was attentive and the staff was nice. There was even a private bathroom for the event. It’s not only a great place to host an event but the food is definitely worth trying. I’ll have to come back.

Enjoyed our Anniversary dinner at Alma. Ordered the tasting menu with wine paring. We liked the 12 different dishes and they were paced nicely between service. Lots of variety of tastes and different ideas. Guess the reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is there really wasn’t a dish that stood out to me. Some lacking seasoning (my seas bass and salad). My favorite and most interesting dish was the Mung Bean Griddle Cakes with Littleneck clams, napa kimchi, summer squash. Overall I still recommend Alma for special occasion and tasting menu. Get the wine paring which seemed like a good match with the dishes & value. Dessert course was nice and light paired with a digestif. Cost was $319 (this included their 21% fee).
