Very, very good breakfast had here. Stopped by for breakfast and were lucky to get a seat. Ordered scrambled eggs with mushrooms and poached eggs, both were excellent. The only negative was that they don't have an espresso machine, brewed coffee only. Nice setting with indoor and out seating. Worth a visit.
When you go to a place with your family and you all end up sharing just because everything is amazing...you know it's a winner. Highland Morning is now our new favorite breakfast joint in Louisville.
My husband and I went Sunday for breakfast. We were told to be prepared to wait as they are always busy, but we were seated immediately. We also had our 8 month old son and the staff and customers were so sweet to him! The food was amazing and we definitely want to go back to try more. Our son ate eggs and made a big mess under his chair. We apologized and left more of a tip for this reason but the waitress was so sweet about it and told us not to even worry. We'll definitely be back!
Came in today for Sunday Brunch with my boyfriend for the first time. Was quoted a 20 min wait so we stood outside in the shade all to be seated at the bar like maybe 10 mins later! We were waited on by the super nice and super busy bartender! The food was out of this world! This place never lets down! Can't wait to come back and try out some more of the yummy menu!!!!!
Came here for brunch on a Saturday. They quoted us a wait of 40 minutes, so we went and sat at the coffee shop next door and called us when our table was ready. Easy enough. I had a Bloody Mary, which was AMAZING. I craved another one all day after. Had the full size biscuits & gravy and my friend and I split a side of bacon and potatoes. Everything was amazing. No complaints what-so-ever. Would love to go back again.
I had the French Toast and Grits of the Day(Banana Bread) it was so good.. I can't wait until next time to try a omelet. The dining area is pretty small but the foods makes up for it
Chicken and dumpling strata. I wasn't sure if I would like this but it's very good. Chicken, carrots, dumplings, a delicious side sauce, mixed greens, and a biscuit with a small side of their amazing gravy. this was the special of the day and worth every bite! Bring a big appetite or do what I did and take home some for later. I love everything Highland Morning serves. It's always good.
Favorite Brunch Spot. If you're planning on going during the weekend be prepared to wait, however it's totally worth the wait. However if you're not one to wait 20+ minutes for a table, you should go during the week around lunch time and you will be seated right away.
I have yet to try something there I didn't like, and if its your first time you should make sure to get the biscuits and gravy, it will change your life!
Great, Hip Spot (With Good Food, Too). We hit this place up for breakfast mid-morning Sunday. Seating took about fifteen minutes (during which we went to Day's Coffee next door because coffee) for a three-person group. Our server, Johnny, was enthusiastic and recommended specials, more coffee, etc. I had the special vegetable strata: light and fluffy, English-muffin base with sauteed vegetables. My tablemates had omelets, which were light and well-seasoned. Good biscuits and even the grits were palatable - they tasted to me like nicely-flavored sand, which is about the best I can say about grits as a Northerner. Coffee was dark roast and delicious. Did not get any hipster or exclusivity vibe (aside from the young hostess, who balked when we refused to seat three at a small-for-two top corner table) and felt right at home among the artwork and atmosphere. This is a place I would seek out on the next trip to Louisville, and would ask for our server again by name.
False advertising. I'm new in town and just moving in. I called to have food delivered, and it turns our you "don't deliver at all" as I was told over the phone. Among your featured online, it says DELIVERY... Hmmm?
Enjoyed a very tasty breakfast at Highland Morning today. While there was a short wait, we got in fairly quickly. I was pretty indecisive because there were so many tasty options. I finally decided on the Baja Benedict. Lots of flavor and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection!! My hubby opted for the biscuit and gravy omelette. We also enjoyed perfectly spiced Bloody Mary’s. A wonderful breakfast gem, just what we were looking for.
This spot is where I had the best breakfast I've ever had. I had the wake me up omelete and the Stuffed French toast.
The omlete was savory, slightly spicy, fresh, and had a nice depth of flavor. Every ingredient complimented each other perfectly.
The stuffed French toast was so delightful. The sweetened cream cheese was just sweet enough to not be overwhelming, the Strawberry compote on the top was refreshing and made me melt in my chair.
The server complimented me on my tattoos and had good conversation with me. This place has a super cool vibe and food made with love
By far the best pancakes I have ever had! I had lemons lovers pancakes and my husband had the southern pecan waffles. When I say you do not want to sleep on this place, I mean it! Service was great and it was a short nice walk from our airbnb.
Excellent neighborhood breakfast spot with both light and hearty offerings, in the heart of the coolest neighborhood in Louisville. Everything I've ordered has been top-tier, and all at very reasonable prices. It can get crowded on the weekends so come early!
Love, Love, Love the food. Stuffed french toast with blueberries and strawberries was delicious. I definitely found my place for Shrimp and Grits in Louisville. The over easy egg on top added the perfect flavor. The basil tomato omelet was cooked to the perfect consistency and had a wonderful taste. Amanda was super attentive and helpful. We will be making this place a regular stop.
Food was absolutely fantastic. I had the Baja eggs Benedict, my man had the ultimate breakfast burrito. The skillet potatoes with cheese, peppers and onions are necessary!! Was happy with the pancake also!
I ordered the biscuits and gravy, orange juice & a small fruit cup. I don't know what's in the gravy but it is a very unique taste. It's good though, and the sausage isn't spicy. The fruit cup had a great variety that wasn't just your standard melon, and the staff were nice.
This down home cafe feel breakfast spot had a sweet charm to it.. Small and a little crowded but it felt right. The place was very busy but the service was still friendly and fast. The food was a good cross between a home cooking feel and gourmet. We had the bananas foster stuffed french toast and a build your own omelet. Both were exceptional. My dad ordered a more traditional eggs and bacon plate and it was all cooked to order and came out just as requested.
Very unique restaurant, small with a lot of personality. Love a good restaurant with an identity and they did that. Pictures on the walls are nostalgic with local ties, had no idea so many famous people has ties to Louisville. Food was EXCELLENT. Had the French quarter French Toast. Do yourself a favor and try this place....
Incredible and unique breakfast options with friendly staff and fast service. The Baja Benedict and Highland Not Brown were both excellent. They also have interesting pancake flavors like dreamsicle and key lime. We would love to come back on our next visit - highly recommended!
