Probably one of my favorite places to dine at. I've never had a bad meal and the service is top notch. The beef filet is a great choice on the menu and the spicy oysters is one of the best appetizers I've ever had.
Phenomenal restaurant. I everything including the service was phenomenal from here...one of my favorite places service was spot on. Just eat here!!!
Maybe the best spot in Louisville? Shrimp and Grits that are to die for as are the Spicy Fried Oysters ...but my favorite is the Lamb chops, they know how to cook them and they reach to the OMG scale. Ive never been disappointed in a meal at Jack Fry's
One of louisville finest restaurants by far. Once you get past the oh so tiny interior you'll be blow away by the food. When I say tiny interior I mean it the building is packed to capacity and the noise can be a bit much. However that adds a certain ambiance to the charm. The last two times I've visited I order what can only be described as a shank of pork. It's like a whole thigh. Oh man was it ever delicious. The restaurant is famous for a reason you have to go there to experience how amazing this place is.
The service was wonderful, too bad this place is always busy. The food was amazing, a little more expensive then most but definitely worth the money.
Cozy, inviting, with delish food!. Upon moving to louisbille I quickly ears about this spot and was eager to try it when I had family in town. Since they had never been to Louisville, it was a great spot to take them to. My parents liked he piano player and the Louisville historic items on walls. My step dad loved the bourbon selection and service was perfect. It is very small and reservations are needed in advance as you would expect for a good small spot.
The Best. Always the best food and service in town! Never disappoints in any area.
Make Reservations. Had dinner last night without reservations and ate at the bar. our food and service was excellent and we will definitely be back.
Cramped but Delicious. Haven't been disappointed yet by a dish. Good flavors and there is something for everyone's tastes. Only problem is the amount of space. Depending on where you sit, you feel like you are dining in a broom closet. Also we went during Derby week, and we were told we had a 2 hour window for our meal. I don't like being told how long I have to be on a date!
Great Food & Atmosphere. My wife and I recently went for our anniversary. Hadn't been here in years so wasn't sure what to expect. We were completely blown away by every part of our meal. The apps, entrees, and dessert were all amazing. The service was very personal and friendly. Now one of my favorites in town!
Little too dark of an atmosphere for me personally in the middle of the afternoon- but the Cobb Salad with additional grilled chicken was very good. I went out of my norm and ordered the daily chef's soup choice, and I didn't even taste it because it had mushrooms in it (it wasn't on the menu, our waitress just told us). They were very accommodating in taking it back and encouraging me to try something else. Should've went with my norm-delicious!
My husband and I brought our out of town guests here. We had the lamb chops (me, pictured), filet (pictured), swordfish, and short rib among us, along with salads, wine, ice cream, and chocolate bomb. Everything was amazing. The lamb chop meal was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. 😋 Nothing beats the excellent service here, plus live piano music!
I LOVE THIS PLACE! We are not from the area, but we always stop at Jack Fry’s on our way home from Tennessee. I absolutely love the lamb, the wine selection, the service, and the dessert! :). We will definitely be back !!
Its unassuming exterior hides a delightful and delicious restaurant. Our food was exceptional, and the staff (especially our waiter) were extremely efficient and helpful. The crispy capers on my Caeser Salad were delightful. The Creme Caramel dessert was absolutely heavenly and made everyone else at our table jealous they didn't get one for themselves.
We tried short rib at Repeal Steakhouse in Hotel Distil last night. They are very good one of the best restaurants we have been to, have ate there many times. Hands done the short rib here at Jack Fry's is the best damn short rib we have ever had, 10 out of 10. Shrimp and grits appetizer you have to try. I didn't realize we liked shrimp and grits until we tried this here.
What a cool place, full of personality and ambiance, brings you back to era of old lowly lit restaurants in the movies. Service was awesome, food was unreal and drinks were as well. It deserves all the praise it has received over the years. Very cool place. Ashley, who served me at the bar offered great insights into the menu and knew where to steer me to make sure it was exactly as designed, one of the better dining experiences I’ve had in recent history.
Really enjoyed this place. It's a converted house, so seating is a little tight. But the drinks were great, nice wine selection, and there was nothing ordered at our table that wasn't wonderful (we all tasted everything). Next time we're in Louisville we'll be back at Jack Fry's!
The bourbon glazed surf and turf strip steak was incredible. Please make it a menu regular. Probably one of the best strip steaks I've ever had. Great food, excellent service, and cool vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town.
I think this is legit my top 2 restaurants in Louisville! LOVED the food, LOVED the staff, LOVED the piano, and LOVED the low lit vibes. Dress casual. Warm.... did I mention the food was seasoned WELL?! Sorry, but very rare I go to a restaurant and everything is seasoned to perfection. Already recommended this place to friends. A hidden gem in my opinion ✨️
Absolutely stellar. The fried oysters were an unexpected delight and the demi-glaze made the lamb. The lemon tiramisu was sublime.
