Just like how Manhattanites avoid Times Square, Angelenos avoid Hollywood.  Not because Hollywood is void of interesting characters (far from it), but because its high density of tourists make street-navigating frustrating and parking near impossible.  On the rare occasion that I make a trek to Hwood, it's for a movie at the  ArcLight Dome  or a show at the  Pantages  or the  Hollywood Bowl . Yet  Madera Kitchen , a restaurant/ event venue located in the heart of Hollywood, manages to stay away from the maddening fray.  In fact,  Madera  provides an atmosphere that is akin to the laid-back style of West LA.  With abundant natural lighting, open patio space, and cool beats playing in the background, this is a perfect place to enjoy a casual Sunday brunch balanced by the right amount of people-watching. The eclectic indoor and outdoor design & decor immediately sets this place apart from any other restaurant.  Each "room" in the restaurant creates a vibe slightly different from the other, but is overall welcoming.  Clearly, the artistic interior designers of this restaurant know what they're doing. The Brunch menu, now available on Saturdays and Sundays, is also heavenly.  Amazing combinations of fresh ingredients coupled with very reasonable prices = a memorable meal indeed. Plus, bottomless mimosas for $14! The good news?  The food is as good as it sounds on the menu. Blueberry pancakes, squash blossom frittata, bfast sandwich. Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes  w/ orange curd, berries, and whipped creme fraiche --  $11 Looks decadent, no?  Though drenched in orange curd and topped with a too generous portion of creme fraiche, the pancakes were surprisingly fluffy and not overly dense.  This was a sweet touch to our predominantly savory meal. Open-face Breakfast Sandwich  -- bacon, eggs over easy, cheddar, jalapeno aioli, arugula, tomato --  $10 For just $10, you can appease your appetite with this beauty of a breakfast sandwich.  All of the contributing players are great

My review is for a wedding venue and the wedding menu which is all that I've experienced. It's a beautiful intimate venue for a smaller wedding with lots of nooks and crannies for photos, and an on site delicious menu with some meat and veggie options. I love working here as a photographer and the staff is always very kind. Parking is the most difficult thing, street parking with meter or Uber are your best options to get here.

Great place to have food or that special drink. Great staff and Joshua the manager is awesome to work with. I had the pleasure of working a wedding for Diana and Matt and I was able to plug into there sound system.

The food and atmosphere was good but what really won me over was the customer service. My friends and I spent 3 hrs there and constantly received refills on our waters, bottomless mimosas, and bottomless micheladas without having to ask. Definitely had such a great experience here and would 10/10 come again!

I was looking for a Happy Hour spot in LA near a venue I was going to, and this place came up! The place is GORGEOUS, especially outside. It doesn't get too cold, but when there's an event they'll block out the other side. The inside of the restaurant is quite nice too, it's pretty dark and intimate and the bar looks nice to sit at. Apparently there are blankets outside, so you can ask for it and they'll provide it to you! Happy Hour menu: I ordered the Penicillin ($14), it was a little weak and watered down, but overall good. Chicken ($7) - This was DELICIOUS, there were a lot of flavors, crispy, and it was cut into three pieces. Eat it fast because it cools down quickly. Ceviche (Thursday special for $5) - This was yummy as well, it comes in a small martini glass. The other Happy Hour special was a bbq pork slider, my friends tell me it's delicious. Keep your timer ready because we didn't get a notice when Happy Hour was over. We were charged original prices and had to get it sorted out (we ordered some items on the dot).

I enjoyed the food here. The burger is really good. But the service really wasn’t the best. However when there was an issue with my burger they sorted it out quickly and compensated me with free food and a little cocktail. So that made up for the lack of promptness with our waiter 😊 so thanks and BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS. it is expensive tho. It’s $20 to refill a glass for 2 hours which ends at 3:30pm

The food and service here are both great! I went on a Tuesday at 630 and it wasn't crowded. Cute little spot

I was a vendor at this venue for a corporate event so I didn't get to eat. But horsdoevres were served and guests seemed to love them. The decor is rustic with a large patio with some coverage from weather, lots if planters with planters, and overhead electric heaters. There is an interior area with a bar, seating, dance area, and a stage for the hired DJ. Some of the tables could use some services because they were rocking a lot. There was tons of seating and a pleasant setting. Parking is HARD! VERY limited and metered especially on Fridays and weekends. Even in the evenings. So, you may want to find a lot with a flat fee and Uber or Lyft over.

This place is a cute spot, but the service wasn’t that great. The happy hour was a really good deal and the patio is such a nice area, but we waited 15 minutes for a drink during happy hour. The place was slammed with like 1 or 2 servers. If this is such a busy place for happy hour they should bring on more staff. I’m giving it a 4 because it’s so cute and the deals were good, but wish they would step up the service.
