Loved it here! Food and service were excellent. I am Filipino and some of the dishes were familiar yet it was better/more elevated and I really respected that. This restaurant is located out of the way of the strip, but we made the trip and so glad we did. We are fans of Chef Jamie from Top Chef so we just had to try. Highly recommend the fried beef crisps and fried whole rainbow trout.

The food and level of service outshines many of the stirps upscale options. The spiced yogurt sauce which comes with the "calamari" was perfectly balanced, meaning my taste buds were effortless cycling through the distinct yet complimentary flavors and sensations within each bite. A kelidoscope of Lime, sweet, hot, cool, tangy, & nutty. Everything else is great too but I'm using up your attention on the calamari sauce.

Don’t judge a restaurant by its location. We had heard about the amazing food at the Black Sheep, but were surprised at the strip mall local. My husband and I shared a couple appetizers and a main dish as we weren’t that hungry, but I could have eaten everything myself. I have a gluten sensitivity and most things on the menu work for me. Our waiter, Joel was wonderfully knowledgeable about the menu and guided me through it. We began with the salmon skin tacos. Delectably and delicately crunchy, with salmon filling nicely seasoned. Next we shared the imperial rolls. Just yum. So crunchy, filled with tender pork and shrimp. We chose the slow braised short rib for the main dish. The mouthwatering rich beefy flavor was a treat for my tastebuds. The spicy—to me, not my husband-kimchi rice was a nice foil for the richness of the short rib. A wonderful experience. Highly recommend if you like thoughtful menu, expertly prepared. Note that the menu pictured will change, according to our waiter Joel.

Tucked into the corner of this nearly missed strip mall in Las Vegas is an amazing gem of a restaurant. I am sure there are plenty of great reviews. Opening for dinner promptly at 5pm., the Black Sheep invitingly welcomed us in for a treat. Celebrating an anniversary, we traveled a little over 400 miles to try this place. We started with the Salmon Tacos and Imperial Rolls. Check our pics. For an entree, we shared the Short Ribs. The service was very attentive, friendly, and prompt. The atmosphere is clean and comfortably spaced. All of this made enjoying each dish even better. Everything is so beautifully presented and the flavors matched perfectly. We certainly traveled back home on our nearly 6 hour drive wanting more and hope to make it back next year to do it again. Worth the trip, we didn’t eat as much due to the journey back. Give this low-key location a try for a great food and dining. experience.

Ok, honestly, I didn't like almost any of my food, BUT that was due to my preferences rather than the food quality. My dinner mates liked some things. One like seafood, so did like a couple of dishes that had fish or shrimp. She didn't like the spicy dishes. The other mate loved everything. She likes seafood and spicy food and thought the quality was amazing. So if you like spicy food and seafood, this may be a favorite for you. If you don't, like me, you will need to order a steak, and it will taste ok. The cocktails were great. Interesting and creative and delicious. There is a full bar, too. I was treated to dinner, so I didn't catch the whole bill, but appetizers and dinners and cocktails for 3 ran $250 plus tip, at $300 total.

Hmm, usually I have a strong opinion on restaurants, but The Black Sheep left me a bit underwhelmed. Maybe I had too high expectations. The food was good and creative and prices are fair. I had the Salmon Skin Tacos that could have used a bit salt, but overall tasted good. It was not the most exciting I ever had, although it has potential. The Braised short ribs with kimchi fried rice as a main course killed it, while the chocolate cake desert again was a bit bland. Service was super friendly and fast. What disappointed me probably most was the uninspired interior with a wall of empty picture frames and no attention to detail. Most disturbing I found that owner and former top chef contestant Jamie Tran was present but seemed glued Tina spot behind the bar spending 80% of the time on her phone where she could have either be in the kitchen or welcome the guests and be really present or not visible. Food and drinks for one person was roughly 100 USD but since off the beaten tracks I also payed more than 50 dollars for transportation back and forth. Overall good, but below expectations.

The food is amazing here at The Black Sheep. I came with 3 people and we had a blast from start to finish. Some of the choices were very interesting, from salmon skin tacos to an out of this world Heirloom tomato salad with an Asian twist. The entrée was divine. We took one of each, and they were exquisite. The drinks were just as good. Great place to come visit. Highly recommended!!!!

Absolutely one of the best meals we've ever had. Unfortunately it takes some work to get there as a tourist - Uber wasn't super convenient from the Strip, but it's absolutely worth the effort.

we came to Los Angeles to eat good food with my friend. but this place blew my mind, you can feel the quality, discipline and passion in every bite. What an incredible experience. Also, the cocktails are very good. Thanks to the chef and her amazing staff for this night.

We made a last minute reservation at the Black Sheep tonight. After a quick search on Google Reviews and Yelp, we decided to give this place a shot! Plus, they were able to seat us immediately, which was a huge plus - especially for two hungry adults. The staff was kind, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable of the menu. We went with a majority of her recommendations, and let's just say, everything was so good. My personal favorite was the Braised Pork Jowl, which was served on top of turmeric flat noodles, sautéed Chinese broccoli, sesame seed crumble and spicy garlic chili oil. The noodles were al dente and fresh - literally cooked to perfection, if you asked me. I was a big fan of it. The pork jowl was also tender, moist and well marinated as well. Honestly, my mouth is already starting to water thinking about how delicious it was. We also got the Salmon Skin Tacos, which were filled with salmon belly tartare. Big fans. Absolutely stunning. It didn't taste overpowering and felt really well crafted to be honest. We couldn't help, but wonder how they constructed such a magnificent creation. Yup, it was that good. My partner got the Prime NY Strip Loin and that was also a table favorite too. The dish was perfectly cooked in medium rare and served on an incredible bed of mushrooms and cauliflower while drizzled in a delicious seasonal mushroom puree. The biggest surprise of the evening were the fried beef crisps, which were basically deep fried beef tendons drizzled with Thai chili Tajin dust and chili lime sauce. I'd say the texture and flavor reminded me of pork chicharrones. We almost ordered a second place, as it was just that good! Overall, we're big fans of the Black Sheep. The place was also clean and modern. The vibe was cute, but not too stuffy. There were definitely a few dates, as well as group dinners when we went. We'd go again in a heartbeat!
