Long time, old style service and food.
Wine list is just what you look for. Beer list has grown.
Menu selections range from poultry, to seafood, and course the meats (best known for).
Decor is very well appointed.
Great place for celebrating.
Celebrating Mom's 87th Bday...white table cloths, china and complimentary white chocolate raspberry cake thanks to our terrific server, Hunter. Who, by the way, sang Happy birthday also! Famous Snapper Soup never disappoints!!
Made reservations with a few friends of ours to celebrate my wife's birthday. Sat at the bar for a drink, had a great dirty martini with a must, hand stuffed blue cheese olives (never use the Jared garbage)! We had a great time, a cozy, charming room all to ourselves. Service was excellent as was the food and dessert.
Recommend making a reservation before you go, preferably early in the day, not just a couple of hours in advance. Our waitress was very kind and sociable, when she was at our table. Unfortunately we asked to sit outside(which was great) however she had 5 other tables inside that took the majority of hrr attention, so we were not attended to as we would have expected at a fine dining restaurant. The drinks were good, and the food was excellent. Do make sure if you get dessert and want cheesecake, to ask for "Jim's." You will not regret it!
Classy place with a long history. This is the place for the very best turtle soup. Extensive menu and wine list. Superb wait staff. Great atmosphere with the best music standards playing in the background. A wonderful step back in time to a classic restaurant. Highly recommended for an evening meal.
We visited the Stockyard Inn for Mother's Day around 1pm. The dining crowd was moderate. The food was delicious. We shared a clams casino. My mother had the snapper soup, Chilean sea bass entree and a glass of Chardonnay. I had the seafood bisque, surf and turf entree and a well made mixed drink. My son chose from a standard kid's menu. All 3 of us enjoyed a dessert afterward with a hot tea. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only complaints I have are to have more staff attending tables, the high price of some of the food and please don't overcook the lobster. Also, please maintain the restrooms better. Otherwise it was a nice way to spend a rainy afternoon . It is cool to chilly in the restaurant . I advise cold sensitive people to dress warmly.
I don't think I have ever met a more courteous Waiter and very knolageble on the menus and specials she told use about each plate in detail on how it's made and their ingredients. The drinks and all. The ambient was mellow with a nice ambient music. It's one of my girlfriends Parents favorite places and defenetly one of mine now too. I wish I took pictures, but I was hungry and the food was Amazing and cooked to perfection.
We have been going to this restaurant for many years (one of my parents special ocassion places, also). The quality of the food has always been very good, but lately the service seems to be lacking. The servers are very pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive, but it seems to take longer than necessary to get our courses. Could there be a timing problem in the kitchen with order pickup? Next time I will stress to the server we need to keep things moving along and see what happens. Otherwise, always a fine dinner.
Fabulous restaurant whose overall experience never disappoints. The dinner service (food and staff) was impressive and such a treat all around. Highly, highly recommend booking a table to enjoy the culinary delights and cozy atmosphere.
Excellent is all aspects--food, atmosphere, service! You can dine in a more formal dining room, or order from the full menu in the cozy bar. Steaks and seafood were excellent. Oysters were fantastic. Price was very reasonable!
